We had hot & sweet soy-milk, salty donut sticks, and onion pancakes. I'm happy to report the quality of these dishes was just as good as we'd remembered. The dining atmosphere has also remained unchanged - a quaint, hole-in-the-wall establishment. This place is highly recommended if you love authentic soymilk and the salty donut sticks, which are made fresh. These donut sticks are called 'yo-tiao' in Mandarin, and 'yow-jag-gwai' in Cantonese. Whatever you call'em, they're good. Enjoy! The place is always packed full of Asians at dinner time, and the menu used to be only in Chinese. Thankfully now they have English descriptions. They have awesome sizzling steaks and all sorts of strange foods. Definitely a place for someone with an adventerous palate. Last time I went with friends we had sauteed snails with basil, congealed pork blood and stir fried pig intestines and stinky Tofu. Service is not a high point. The prices are really great for the quality of food. We usually like to eat breakfast here, because they have the best soy milk and 'yo tiao' (salty donut stick) that we have had in Houston. My wife is from Hong Kong, and she says these taste as good as home. I agree. We also like the onion pancakes. The dining room is not big and it sometimes gets crowded in the late morning, so go early.
