MY REVIEW: I love to sit at the hibachi grill. You get a cup size bowl of soup, a bowl of salad with a tangy ginger style dressing, noodles, grilled vegetables, your entree, and a choice of fried rice, or steamed rice. You also get two dipping sauces for your meat a honey dijon tasting one, and a ginger sauce. The taste of the food is excellent! I always get the hibachi shrimp, but i've had the surf & turf as well. I am always pleased with my meal, and the service is prompt and professional. The lunch time prices are fantastic for the quality of food you receive, the portions are smaller than the dinner time portions... but definitely still worth the price! $8.50 is what my lunch cost before tax & tipping. PS: A lot of people don't know this, but the hibachi chefs should be tipped upon satisfaction of service.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I wanted to give his parents a very special birthday dinner. They had suggested a Chinese buffet we have been to on several occasions; however, I wanted to give them something a little better. So, I visited this web site and read the reviews for Asian City. I was very impressed by the reviews, so I called the restaurant and made reservations for the four of us for lunch at the hibachi grill. Reservations are not necessary; however, between the four of us, three have special dietary restrictions due to health reasons. When I began mentioning those restrictions, the lady put my call to the manager. I spoke with him and he reassured me, there would be no problem.

The next day, we showed up at the appointed time and after introducing ourselves to the hostess, we were promptly seated. It wasn't but a moment when the manager came over to us and introduced himself. He called our chef and explained to him our needs (all of this without having to remind him). The chef was absolutely fabulous! When we were tempted by an item on the menu, he carefully took the time to explain that cooked in that particular way would not be wise and offered alternatives. He was extremely informative and helpful.

My in-laws have now decided that Asian City is the place we will go for all of our celebrations. Thank you so much for your consideration and hospitality. One more thing, they have a beautiful water wall that extends the entire length of the hibachi grill area. It was incredible to watch the chef play with fire while having a backdrop of cascading water.

MY REVIEW: Asian City is the bomb, when it comes to sushi. I have been to other shushi places, but nothing compares to them. At first I didn't like sushi, but I tried and I fell in love. I have been going to Asian City for about 7 yrs and still going. Daniel the chef is the awsome. Yung the waitress knows me and my family, she is aswome as well..

MY REVIEW: The spider roll is to die for! It's the most delicious roll on their menu. I also love the spicy tuna and salmon skin rolls. I order take out on a regular almost daily basis...it's highly reliable.

I look forward to my next meal there with enthusiasm. Congrats to the chefs at Asian City for making the place feel like home!

MY REVIEW: I would call my self an average diner. I typically don't eat at expensive restaurants and thus don't have the pallet to choose from that some of the other reviewers may have. But let me just say that this place is INCREDIBLE!!. What really astounds me is that people have complained about the customer service. Not to discredit them, but every time I have been here the waitstaff and servers have been exceptional. Along with that, another omission from the other reviews is that no one has brought up what I feel is the best dish on the menu. It is their Creamy Walnut Shrimp and it is simply to die for. Literally it is like biting into heaven my spouse and I order every time we go. I could go on and on about the other great dishes and their fantastic sushi but that would be redundant. If you haven't been here, try it, and if you have and haven't had the creamy walnut shrimp try it. I promise you won't regret it.

MY REVIEW: This place is incredible! We love the Nigiri Tuna and Salmon. The fried pork rolls are good too. The mgr. always speaks and the waitresses are always smiling and friendly. The hostesses sometimes act like they would rather not be there. Other than that, that is the only complaint I have ever had. Nice atmosphere with a knife show twirling act going on over near the wall that has water flowing down it. Always a good experience. I highly recommend it!

MY REVIEW: Sushi is great and fresh. Hibachi grill great. We visit once a month. Atmosphere is great. Another favorite Asian City Black Pepper Beef with Jalapenos, it is like eating a flavorful grilled steak in a great sauce.

Not a loud place. My dad does not like chinese food but he will go for the above Beef. Good service. Never too crowded.

MY REVIEW: After living in the Houston area for 7 years now, we have not ever eaten at Asian City, although passed it on a daily basis to and from work. My husband and I met some friends there a few months back and I was completely amazed.

The interior is nicely decorated and pleasing to the eye..not like a noisy chinese buffet place, but rather an upscale establishment. I was very surprised. Chinese food is my favorite, so I can be rather finicky, but guess what? The food was amazing. We now eat there about once a week, maybe we go as long as 2 weeks. I try something new each time and so far I have not been disappointed.

The wait staff is amazingly friendly and our favorite waitress is Yong. She is so nice and friendly and funny too!! Not to mention attentive to our needs. I find the hostesses just as cute as can be, always smiling and courteous.

We have yet to eat at the Sushi bar, although I hear its fantastic. Perhaps that will be one of our new adventues this summer, I reccomend this place to all my friends and I even take family there when they come to visit. Noone has been disappointed yet. Keep up the good work!

MY REVIEW: I love Asian City!!! I love it that when I go in Daniel is always there at the sushi bar and whether I go alone or with friends, I always feel welcome. I am greeted by the people who work there and they always ask me how I am and what has been going on. So, the people are great!!!

As far as the food goes...well...j/k! It is all great, the food, the service, and the ambience all make Asian City a fabulous place to dine. Get the Matsu Plate. A lot of nigiri and sashimi for only about $15.00. I promise it will fill you up. And if you are super nice to Daniel he might even throw in some Peppercorn tuna, instead of the yucky Red Snapper! Peace out!

MY REVIEW: I have been to this location several times over the last few years and have never been disappointed.

There are times the service, especially the hostess, can be spotty- but otherwise it's great.

I've eaten at the hibachi tables (make a reservation!) and in the regular dining room several times and the food is always great- no matter what we order- it's perfect, the food itself, the order- EVERYTHING!

Try it- you wo'nt be disappointed!

MY REVIEW: I absolutely adore this restaurant. My first time dining at Asian City was for my 30th birthday. I've never really been a big sushi fan until now. I've had sushi before but NEVER as fresh as what they serve at Asian City. I find myself craving this place atleast once a week. EVERYTIME I have dined there the staff has always been courteous and attentive. The Philadelphia Rolls are to die for...try it with fresh salmon...it melts in your mouth like butter. The Vegetable Tempura is wonderful along side the heavenly Tempura Dipping Sauce that I could just slurp from the bowl. If your looking for a place that has a little bit of everything...Asian City is it!

MY REVIEW: We drive almost 3 hours to eat at Asian City. My husbnd is a sushi fan, and finds Asian City to be the best he has had . He lived in Japan 4 yrs so is very well acquainted with sushi/Japanese cuisine.

I recently tried the Creamy Walnut Shrimp. It is Heavens nectar ! Superb. The Tempura Shrimp is some of the best I have ever had.

I especially enjoy the salad dressing they serve. Light, refreshing, not loaded with vinegar as so many seem to be..

Excellent food for the money. Well worth the trip .

MY REVIEW: I had never eaten hibachi before going to Asian City. I plan to make it a frequent occurance now. I had such a great time here that I would recommend it to everyone. The hibachi chefs were fantastic, entertaining, and very nice. The whole restaurant was laughing the entire time I was there because everyone was having such a good time. I had the Salmon and it, along with the fried rice was the best ever. My friends finally told me to shut up about it because I couldn't help but go on about how much fun I had.

MY REVIEW: I have been going to this establishment off and on for several years now. After today, I WILL NOT EVER GO BACK. Over time, this place has gotten worse and worse. The service is spotty at best. Generally, once seated it takes 5 - 10 minutes to have someone take your drink order. Today, it was 15. When we did order, our food arrived quickly enough and the beef skewers were pretty good. About 5 minutes later, our yakitori arrived. ICK. It tasted terrible. I don't know if the chicken was just under-done or if it was going bad or both. Our main dishes arrive and were unceremoniously plopped in front of the wrong people. The orange beef and sesame chicken were drowned in unappetizing sickly sweet sauces so their texture was also ruined. The whole experience was disappointing, to say the least. Given the unpredictable and generally bad service, plus really disgusting food...I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE

MY REVIEW: My husand and I were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. All of our intended plans had started to fan out and we eventually had to start over. My husband had been talking about this Japanese restaurant by the mall, as we had just moved to the area. We love hibachi and I didn't feel up the hassle of going downtown. Well we ended up at Asian City. We were greeted graciously and promtly seated. We enjoyed the most wonderful meal, personable chef and good table mates. We are going again this month to take the kids because they want to see and taste it for themselves. They said it's all we've been talking about.

MY REVIEW: This was the worst experience I've had at a restuarant in Houston. My husband, son & I arrived and waited at least 10 minutes before the hostess spoke to us, despite the fact that she was standing behind the podium. (She was too busy talking with another waitress.) After 45 minutes, and everyone that was there before us had been seated, plus a few who had come in after us had been seated, we finally asked the hostess how much longer it would be. She seemed annoyed and told us our table was being cleaned off and it would only be five more minutes. Thirty minutes later, we still had not been seated. Needless to say, we left, and received annoyed, dirty looks from the hostess. THIS IS UNEXCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR. TERRIBLE SERVICE, RUDE STAFF, UNDESERVING OF ANY PRAISE.

MY REVIEW: My husband accidentally found this restaurant while on business in Houston and decided to eat there. He raved about the food and couldn't wait until I had the opportunity to go back with him. Luckily, my sister and her family live in Houston, so we came back for a visit and made our way to the restaurant for my husband's birthday.

I was impressed before I ever got into the building. The exterior decor was breathtaking, with gardens and goldfish ponds that totally brought you into the Asian atmosphere. The water effects inside the building were cool and calming.

This however could not prepare us for what we were about to experience with the food. We requested the Hibachi table, and were promptly seated. Our special requests were met with delicious sushi and sauces. We placed our order and soon thereafter, our Vietnamese Hibachi chef, who is 23, (sorry, don't remember his name), appeared with our food and a personality that made our dining experience fun and most enjoyable. The food, what can I say, it was absolutely exquisite, far better than any other similar Japanese dining experiences.

Can't wait to get to come back and enjoy more of such wonderful food and service. Thanks for making my husband's birthday dinner memorable and very fulfilling.

MY REVIEW: I moved to Kingwood a couple of months ago and saw Asian City every morning on my way to work. Today (2-7-04) I finally decided to stop in. The hostess was courteous and friendly when she seated me. The dining area had no more than 10 people in it. I waited for almost 15 minutes, browsing the menu. No one came to wait on me. Not even a "I'll be right with you." Nothing. I got up, put on my jacket, headed for the door. I saw the hostess on the way out and told her no one would wait on me. She waved "Bye" to me on the way out the door. I have no comments on the food or even the water, since I didn't get to partake.

MY REVIEW: My sushi sisters & I meet here at least 2 times a month. We all live in Livingston or down town, great 1/2 way point. This is our usual lunch spot. The waitresses are great especially the ones that know you & what you like. I would recomend this place to everyone. Great place

MY REVIEW: I usually visit Asian City on my birthday each year because I love sushi and my husband likes Chinese food. This is a great place to get both. The sushi is reasonably priced, and though the rolls could be larger, they are extremely good. The sushi chefs are nice and when my son and I visit Asian City and eat at the sushi bar, they always give him a treat. I've had some of the dinner specials before and the portions are big. You won't leave hungry. Great location.

MY REVIEW: This is a great place, the SUSHI is fabulous and not over priced like some others in the area. The head sushi chef is great. He usually is very busy but always tries to say a few kind words. The dressing they use for the salad is outstanding, it gives the salad a since of freshness. The establishment has just added several hibachi tables to eats lineup. Although I am not too impressed with the table chefs, the food is great and not overpriced either.

It is nice to see such a nice friendly location in the Humble, TX area. My family and I will continue or trek here as well as my many sushi buddies at work.

A truly fine dining local.

MY REVIEW: Very good food and most of the time excellent service. They do get swamped from time to time and it seems services lags then but on average it is as good as any and better than most restaurant's.

My family and I have frequented this establishment since it opened several years back. We average 3 or 4 times a month and as I've stated previously the good certainly out weighs what little bad there might be. I have found them most cooperative in substituting some items that other restaurants will flat refuse on.

If you've only visited once or twice, you owe it to yourself to try it again.

MY REVIEW: whats with this place? i mean the chinese food does not taste like chinese food the eggrolls fell apart when i picked it up. Also what is this tasteless sushi? the wasabi was really watery and the fish smelled like it had been frozen for weeks. i seriously think if it is going to be chinese food then so be it dont mix chinese food and japanese food together. itz like having a pizza place and taco stand combined. The sushi chef wasnt fairly talkative he only talked to the customers he knew. The sushi chefs also talked in a language i did not understand but it seemed like they were fighting or something. this place i certainly aint comin back.
