MY REVIEW: Use to eat at Frank's years ago then saw they had location near me on Westheimer nest to S*hipleys. I call it tradational American diner food, home cooking and good. Generous with food but maybe pricey. Surprised how good their chicken-fried steak was though commercial. Make their own chicken-fried chicken steak. Like the diner decor, losts of room. Seem to have a following that eats there every morning. Have eaten breakfast but not tried lunch yet.

MY REVIEW: I first found out about Franks by eating at the Telephone Road location when I was coming in town one morning from Hobby and was hungry. OMG. It was fantastic. The grill was well seasoned (meaning used) so that the flavors of a true grill came through. I use to stop by there as often as I could even though it was on the opposite side of town. But then, when the Franks on Westheimer opened, I thought I would try that too. At First, it left something to be desiered, but after a month or two it too was great. The Food is fantastic and the service is on the spot. However, it is packed at the normal Breakfast Lunch and Dinner Hours and that does hinder service a little (but they are packed for a reason). I come in a little early and the service is fantastic, warm and cheerful. The people are fun to be with.

Now, as for the Food. It isn't the Four S*eason, M*arks, Cafe A*nnie, etc., nor is it suppose to be. What it is is your Mother's Home cooking if you had a mother who could really cook well. Down Home dishes. Beats any other diner any day of the week. I liked House of P*ies, and still do, but Franks is so much better--especially its breakfasts.

MY REVIEW: This place is AWESOME!!! Lots of great food for a low price. The workers are very fun and friendly. YES THIS PLACE GETS PACKED. People have to deal with it, IT MEANS THE FOOD IS GOOD. IF you leave hungry it's your own fault!!! I LOVE FRANKS AT HWY6 ITS HOME AWAY FROM HOME. They are the best!

MY REVIEW: Don't see why anyone likes this place. Good points: biscuits, pancakes, waffles, ham.

First time here, the hash browns were undercooked. Next time, we asked for crisp hash browns; they came out burned. Though the biscuits are good, the "gravy" was just a plain white sauce. Sausage patties were way overcooked. The room is noisy. Once, my egg came out undercooked -- the white wasn't set. Today, the egg was cooked perfectly, but it was cold.

Frank's pours melted butter over their biscuits, toast, etc. Why? The food isn't hot enough to melt butter.

MY REVIEW: I was extremely disappointed in what I had. I ordered three eggs with sausage. I believe the size of the eggs were small as the yoke was smaller than a quarter. My food came out cold even though specifically requested to the waitress to make sure that it came out hot because I would send it back. Well it came out cold and when I sent it back they merely reheated the eggs and burnt the sausage. The potatoes were good although they lacked something. The biscuits were over done and broke up very easily. I would recommend M*ama's Cafe over Frank's

MY REVIEW: This restaurant shouldn't have opened until they had everything under control. When we went there, the ac wasn't working properly. We should have left. The waitress was nice, but with the 3 tables she was working on (the only occupied tables), she was overwhelmed. We were going to try the chicken fried steak, but the sides were mashed potatos, mashed sweet potatos, and mustard greens. Who doesn't have a dinner that may include corn, beans, or black eyed peas?

MY REVIEW: Okay, so maybe the service isn't always as great as it is other times. BIG DEAL. MOST of the time, the waitress not only greets you by name and gives you a hug, she remembers your order preferences. And the food is good, hot, plentiful, and doesn't taste like a plastic hockey puck (like, ohhh, I don't know...I*HOP). And the bacon--good lord--it's slap-your-mama good. Just come early on weekends, because this place fills up to the brim (probably because the food and service is so bad, huh? NOT!!!).

MY REVIEW: All I can say is yum-yum. Everything I have ever ordered from catfish and grits to something as simple as the B.L.T. has always been delicious.. Definitely one of the best breakfast eateries in Houston.

MY REVIEW: My wife & I have been to Fransk Grill many many times and each and every time we've been treated like we were regulars even though we're not there enough for me to consider us regulars. The massive amounts of food they serve have always left us completely content, not to mention the cooks actually take the time to make your food fresh and hot. No amount of complaining from disgruntled UPS truck drivers is going to make me change my mind about the value and service you get from Franks. If fast food is what they wanted they should of just gone to a fast food place Franks wants you to sit down take a load off and relax before they come up to you and make you feel like they want you gone as fast as you came in. Have a nice day UPS!!!

MY REVIEW: I decided to try Franks out because of a patient telling me how great it was. We came in about 11am. No one greeted us so we sat down. There was about 4-5 tables occupied and 3 wait staff that I could see. No one came over and gave us menus,or asked us if we wanted something to drink. The one girl waitress gave a family drinks and menus even though they came in after us then she went to the front door to talk with a bunch of her friends that were blocking the doorway.I got up and got us menus and my friend said looking at the menu, do you want to go to 59 d*iner? and I said yes. At the time we stood up and put the menus down is when one of the waitress then asked if she could help us, We said no and walked out.

We walked into 59 d*iner we were greeted and seated and asked what we wanted to drink. After a few min she was back to take our order. I asked for a lot of special things and she didn't know if they could substitute what i wanted, so i said ok. When she brought out our orders , she had in fact substituted what i wanted .

Thats the difference in having waitress/waiters that care enough about their customers to want to earn there tip and ones that don't. So Franks Grill , if you put the sign up about wait staff works for tips you had better get better wait staff.

MY REVIEW: It's all about the wait staff, the cooks, and that bacon. Goodness gracious: the bacon is outstanding. Frank's Grill (Highway 6 location) is like going back in time when restaurants were mom and pop owned, the staff stayed there forever, and the food was sensational.

Did I mention the bacon?

J.P. is the manager. Alex is the masterful cook who makes short order cooking look like a ballet Stanton Welch at Houston Ballet would choreograph.

MY REVIEW: My boyfriend and I LOVE this place. I am a breakfast fiend and picky about it too. I have to have eggs over easy ON toast with crisp bacon on the side and crispy hashbrowns. Franks has never gotten my order wrong once. Look, we could do I*HOP or W*affle House, but why? Franks is right down the road, the staff is polite and helpful and breakfast, lunch, eat in or take out this is the real deal and time spent here is time well spent!

MY REVIEW: I frequent Frank's on a regular basis....Why? Because the service is always good, and I can count on eating a good hot meal with all the trimmings. You gotta know what you're eating these days. I could go to D*enny's or I*HOP and they serve you paper thin bacon like you find at M*cDonalds and eggs that were poured out of a bag or carton. "Shell Eggs" are it for those of you that don't know the difference. Scrambled soft, they are awesome. I don't really do the Hash Browns anymore, but they will cook them to order if you like them extra crispy. No restaurant is ever perfect if you eat there often enough, honestly I rate this one as a 98%. They don't have a problem with special requests on food.....but ya gotta ask!
