MY REVIEW: While Champps is an excellent venue to sit at the bar and watch a game, I wouldn't recommend actually dining there. The entire staff is very rude, unknowledgeable about the menu, obviously inexperienced at serving, and SLOW. I sat down for a meal at Champps a couple of months ago and received the worst service that I have ever experienced. We ordered drinks and asked for waters as well. Our waters never came and after waiting for 15 minutes and never seeing our server, we had to ask a busboy for water. Our server finally appeared and I asked what the soup of the day consisted of. She acted extremely irritated, said she did not know and that she would have to go to the kitchen and find out if I really wanted her to. Feeling uncomfortable and very unwelcome I passed on the soup. We didn’t see much of our server throughout our meal and when she finally reappeared, our drinks having been empty for about 20 minutes, she rudely slapped the bill on the table and walked off. We were planning on desert, but she made it pretty apparent that we were not welcome so we took the hint and left. I emailed the company on their corporate website and received a response from a regional manager who apologized and asked me to give Champps another try at their expense. While I never received the promised comps, I decided not to base my opinion of Champps on one awful experience and returned for lunch last week. The waiter forgot our order and returned to clarify THREE times. I ordered a salad with my meal which he placed at the table of diners next to us. After one of the patrons sitting next to us poked and played with the salad with a fork, he told our waiter that he had not ordered a salad. The waiter then picked up the salad that had been handled by this man and placed it in front of me saying “Sorry, this is yours”. He left before I could even ask for a new salad. The next time we saw him was 20 minutes later when he brought our entrees. At this point, I did not even want a salad because my entrée would get cold. Appalled that he did not even offer to bring me a new salad, I sat my salad aside and decided at that moment to NEVER enter the restaurant again. I honestly cannot understand how they remain open in such an upscale and competitive area when there are dozens of restaurants within minutes that provide outstanding food quality and service. I would not recommend wasting time or money at Champps until they learn to hire experienced servers with positive attitudes.

MY REVIEW: My favorite here is the queso fries - you can order these with any burger...just yummee!!! Other than that the food is okay and pricey.

MY REVIEW: I went for a late lunch today (about 1:45 pm). When I got to the restaurant, I was seated promptly. The bar was full of folks watching the game, but otherwise, the restaurant wasn't that busy. The hostess gave me a menu. I sat in the booth for 5 minutes and was not acknowledged by any staff. So, I left the restaurant. The hostess asked me what was the matter. I explained the situation and walked out. I will be writing a letter to the manager complaining about the horrible services. This is unacceptable. I am a loyal customer and a good tipper. Champp's lost a customer, and I will share this experience with you all, as well as with my friends and co-workers.

MY REVIEW: Very good waitstaff, sometimes a bit too chatty for my taste. Huge portions, food that plays to a wide range of tastes. A bit pricey, but then again you get a lot of food. Would recommend it for a friday night out with friends

MY REVIEW: Alcohol prices are extremely high. However, during happy hour, from 4 until 6 p.m., it is $1 off. The appetizers are half off. I ordered the quesadilla with beef $6.99 + 2 for beef so it ended up at $4.50. Yet, the quesdailla was extremely greasy and limp. I was expecting a crisp crust and chewy inner texture. I will not order the quesadilla again. The spinach dip is average.

MY REVIEW: This restaurant is in my neighborhood and I had never visited, but recently had an occasion to for a friends birthday. The experience was thoroughly disappointing! The food was overpriced and portions were very small. The server had a poor attitude, despite (or maybe because of) the fact we had a party of 12 (his 18% gratuity was included), we spent a good deal of money and all were disouraged from returning. They up-charged for EVERYTHING...and gave very little for the up-charges. I imagine if all you care about is beer and sports, this is your place, but if you want good food and a positive experience try J.A*lexander's down the street.

MY REVIEW: The waitstaff at times seems over solicitous and at other times, non-existent. The prices do seem a bit steep when you look at the menu, however, portions are gigantic. Most meals can be split easily. The best time to visit is during happy hour to take advantage of the half-priced appetizers. The best dessert is the mile high ice cream pie...but the title is very telling. Don't order it unless there's 6 people or more to eat it. They usually have some sort of promotion running where they're trying to give away a bike or tv or something, but really the only people this restaurant is appropriate for is for people like us...a family with small children who miss going to sports bars. Otherwise, I'd say there are much better bars for a sports enthusiast and much better atmosphere/food/prices for someone just looking for a nice restaurant to eat at.

MY REVIEW: Food is just OK. Waitstaff is ok. Beer is outrageously priced. I don't get that at all. Food is pricey for what you get. With so many better things to eat at, why go here?

MY REVIEW: Champp's is a pretty good restaurant. The food is pretty good (better than average), depending upon what you order.
GOOD POINTS: They have an excellent steak sandwich! I also love their fries!! (They are the waffle type.) For kids, they have smiley face fries, which are very cute!
BAD POINTS: I don't care for their side salad. They don't give quite enough dressing (which is served on the side...so you may want to ask for extra). Also, the salad seems to have a greater amount of iceberg lettuce than boston/romaine or green leaf lettuce. In addition, I don't care for the type of rolls they serve. (They are the hard/French rolls.) The wait staff can be somewhat unattentive as I have witnessed on most visits to Champp's, especially at the Willowbrook/249 location. We mostly get 1 attentive waiter/waitress for every 4 unattentive waiters/waitresses.
All in all: we will return. The food is good and the service is not unbearable.

MY REVIEW: large sportsbar with a good family ambience. it's a bit loud so dont expect to hear people at the end of the table. a good place to take kids. they can be kids without annoying other tables. the food ranges from pretty good to below average. it's plentiful but not cheap... moderate to upper moderate. fish and chips is huge and good. onion rings are the huge type though not real tasty.
artichoke dip needs work. a salmon dish turned out to be very disappointing. they offered to replace the dish. my wife said no and they took it off the bill. still, we come back. the pluses outweigh the minuses but they need to keep working on it.
