Hebert's Specialty Meats

MY REVIEW: Just got a Turducken from Hebert's for the holidays. Everyone loved it. Skin was a little too spicy for the kids. The meat is extremely flavorful as well as the dressing inside. This was our first Turducken and following their cooking directions was easy not to mention dead on perfect.

So to sum it up....its easy to cook, easy to serve (boneless), and tastes awesome!!!! Definitely adding it to our holiday menu for now on! By the way....they had a boneless chicken stuffed with crawfish dressing that I got a try anytime.

MY REVIEW: I've shopped at the Richmond location for a few years. The lady behind the counter is always nice, friendly, and helpful. The favorite for my wife and I is the cornbread dressing stuffed chicken. This is very easy to pickup, cook and eat wonderful Cajun foods. We've also tried the stuffed pork chops... WONDERFUL! The directions are very easy to follow, and if you aren’t sure about anything just ask the person behind the counter and they will GLADLY give you cooking instructions.

My change in job location closer to my home found me changing locations to shop from. My first visit to the Dairy Ashford (10/28/2008) location was a pleasant trip. The guy behind the counter was helpful and nice. He answered all my questions, and EVEN told me about their lunches. THIS IS A PLUS!!! now I can order a to-go lunch from Hebert's... the only weak point is that it IS in fact to-go orders only, no sit down dinning. I can imagine that it is still good no matter where you eat it.

MY REVIEW: Creole cooking at its finest, love the ground meat pie, just put in oven and let the dough rise and eat it, delicious. The stuffed chicken with rice and shrimp is spicy and no bones, awsome.

MY REVIEW: This was my first visit for 2008. My son made me buy two stuffed chickens one for me serve to the guests and the other just for him. I also purchased the stuff pork chops. I'm so glad that I can get this type of meats here and not have to go way to Louisiana to buy it. Real cajun cooking straight from my kitchen.

MY REVIEW: Without exception, this the one of the best specialty meat stores in the country. I bought two Turduckins at my last visit. We had one for Christmas and I served the other at a Mardi Gras party. Folks on the east coast had never had anything like it. It was delicious and an instant hit. I would never buy Turduckins anywhere else.

MY REVIEW: The food is delicious and reasonably priced. We have tried the stuffed cornish hens and stuffed quail so far. The food is ready to be heated and they even give you the directions on how to heat it. Everything about Hebert's is great!
