MY REVIEW: I was "Sad but not giving up" from March of this year. Although the food was so bad that we waited several months before trying it again, try it we did. I'm so pleased to say that the food was back to Happy All's high quality! I can't stand buffets (where food sits for hours) or pre-fab restaurant supply house sauces, and we didn't experience any of that this time. The Orange Beef was very good, and the House Soup was excellent. House Fried Rice was wonderful too. Glad to see an old favorite has come back around!

MY REVIEW: I've gotten food delivered a handful of times now and have not been disappointed. The food tastes much better than at buffet-style restaurants. The house special fried rice has more types of meat than most other places, including the red roast pork. The house special noodle soup has everything the fried rice does, substituting noodles and broth for the rice. Very tasty. The beef curry is better than any other restaurant I've been to. (I first thought they gave me the wrong dish because it didn't look like curry but tasted fabulous.) This is the only place I get Chinese delivery from now. It always arrives fresh and hot and right on time.

MY REVIEW: We've loved Happy All Cafe for years, but had an extremely disappointing dinner recently. The Beef with Orange Peel and Chili Peppers had a cloyingly sweet sauce and the shrimp were briny. Nothing was up to their usual par and it tasted like it had come from one of those all-you-can-eat buffets where they use prefab sauces from a restaurant supply. Will wait a few weeks and try again before giving up for good – Happy All has long been a favorite when we just don’t feel like cooking.

MY REVIEW: I'ce ordered from Happy All since we moved to the Heights five years ago. Mostly it's delivery, though we have eaten at the restaurant once. While the food is not haute cuisine as far as Chinese food goes it is still pretty good. Generous portions, debit and credit friendly, and deliverly drivers who remember who you are after one time make this our go-to restaurant for Chinese food. My partner's favorite dish is the mu shu pork with extra plum sauce and mine is the House special lo mein and Vietnamese egg rolls. Solid neighborhood restaurant.

MY REVIEW: There are only 2 Chinese places around here that deliver and Happy All is the only one I'll eat. The other one is like eating dog food. ICK!!! While I wouldn't say Happy All is the BEST Chinese food, its good and we order pretty regularly. I've never eaten there because if I'm going to go out to eat, there are some really good Chinese places not too far away that are better. But for delivery, I recommend Happy All.

MY REVIEW: I live in the restaurant deprived Heights, and was really happy to find Happy All. The food was good, the service was great and it's close to home. What more could I ask for?

MY REVIEW: I've eaten here several times and have enjoyed the food consistantly. The service is casual and requires a two-way communication rather than the anticipation of your needs. A refreshing realism from the too friendly competitive streak of mainstream restaurants. The patio is great while the interior dining area feels entrapping, which is why for the most part I order out when I order happy all. The food is amazing. Brocolli Tofu with orange sauce is amazing. General Tsao's Shrimp also hits the right spot. Neither of these are on the menu, but these guys are flexible and communicative. Very kind and I'm more than happy to support their business. Many years to come! is what I hope Happy All's fortune cookie to read.

MY REVIEW: BIG disappointment for dinner last night. I've lived in the Heights for a couple years and have wanted to try this place. My girlfriend and I got there around 9 PM and were the only customers there. While looking at the menu all we could hear was the girl that answers the phone complaining rather loudly about someone to our "waiter". When we were ready to order I had to call our waiter over as he wasn't paying any attention to us. We decided to share an entree, the Seafood platter, K14 I believe. It arrived in a timely fashion, but that was the only good thing about it. The Lobster was merely shell that looked like it had been cooked in a stock and was completely devoid of edible meat. There were a few small shrimp, a couple of sliced up scallops,some FAKE crab and next to raw broccoli. We had to ask for rice although it said on the menu it came with it. Unfortunately for us we were hungry, ate it and left. Fortunately there are plenty of other places to eat in Houston and we won't go back.

MY REVIEW: The Heights does not have as many restaurants per square mile as the rest of Houston. This is kind of strange if you are new to the Heights. But what is there sticks around for a long time and has a serious following. Such is the case with Happy All. The name alone puts you in a good mood. The staff is extremely friendly. Even the kitchen staff comes out and says hello to you.

To me the true test of a Vietnamese restaurant is the charbroiled chicken with vermicelli and Vietnamese egg rolls. They do know how to cook this dish at Happy All. The chicken was moist and full of flavor and just warm enough to contrast with the cool crunchy veggies and soft noodles. That is what I like best about this dish is the contrast of textures and temperatures and it all works. My only complaint is the egg rolls. For a good egg roll they need to be fried just before ordering. This gives you the crispy outside and soft juicy inside. These eggs rolls had been fried a long time ago and kept warm. With a staff this friendly I plan to ask on my next visit to drop some fresh egg rolls in the fryer for me. I'm sure it will not be a problem.

MY REVIEW: WOW! The food here is amazing! The service is great and the waiters are very friendly. If you go I highly recommend the combo rice. It has shrimp, chicken, pork and whatever else you want in it. The eggrolls are delicious and the Wonton Soup is very warm and tasty. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 20. Great service and authentic food. Highly recommend on my behalf.

MY REVIEW: I wouldn't go back. I ordered the vermicelli with spring rolls on top. The spring rolls were OK but the noodles were cold. And there were no veggies to mix in like bean sprouts, carrot slivers, and cucumbers. I have never had this dish cold and it was not good. The ambiance was non-existent. Maybe they do better with Chinese cuisine but I won't go back to find out.

MY REVIEW: I love Happy All. The wait staff is pleasant and helpful, the prices are reasonable (especially around lunch), and the food is above average. I recommend the sweet and sour chicken, wonton soup, fried rice, and steamed pork dumplings.

MY REVIEW: I love this place! I've never had anything I didn't like from here, and it at a good price. I recomend delivery or pick up, its very small and they don't have a good drink selection. If you live in the Heights its very convenient

MY REVIEW: I love the house special fried rice "EXTRA SPICY" Great prices and great people. I wish they had a soda machine instead of cans, but other than that it is a great little local place to stop in. I always see the cops eating there, i cant tell if thats a good or bad thing. ( ;

MY REVIEW: I really like this place because it is cheap, tasty, and friendly. I have had the stir-fried wide noodles with beef, pan-fried pork dumplings, chicken fried rice, and black pepper beef, all were tasty and simple. The staff is ultra friendly, I went in for pick-up, they gave me water and those little chinese fried noodles to snack on. Interior is clean, cool and bright, food is tasty and ultra fast, only low point was soggy eggroll, which was free anyway. I like this friendly neighborhood restaurant, will go frequently.
