MY REVIEW: I had been looking for a German restaraunt to eat at when I found Kaiserhof on the net.The wife and I took the drive to montgomery (45 min.)and if all I ate was the house salad the drive would have been worth it.The atmosphere is quiet and the service is great.I had the mixed plate and each bite was fabulous,my wife joked that people were going to think that I was in pain because I would let out a groan of appreciation every time I took a bite.We will definately return and I suggest that YOU take the drive to montgomery and try the great food at Kaiserhof.

MY REVIEW: I am hesitant to write this review because this is the kind of place you would like to keep all to yourself. However its only fair that the rest of the world has the opportunity to experience this wonderful place. This atmosphere is great the service is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. You have to make a point of meeting the chef (and yes, he is actually from Germany.) They have a great beer and wine selection and a full bar both in the restaurant and a separate bar adjacent to the restaurant. I highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys fine european dinning in a casual atmosphere and at a great price.

MY REVIEW: This is, by far, the best German restaurant within 500 miles. Everything is authentic. The German tap ale, the house shrimp cocktail, rouladen, schnizels, wursts...everything was impeccable. If there was a house for sale next door I would buy it and move there. The chef served the house of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg for Pete's sake. I could be satisfied with the bread. I feel humbled and literally unworthy to eat and drink such wonderful food. Especially around here. The owners are real, salty, and gracious people. It seems an insult to dine at a chain restaurant knowing a fine place like this is available. My German father would have loved it. You leave stuffed and have plenty left over for another meal. Two of the red ales alone is enough to fill you up. With black bread and appetizers, the entree is for taking home! The owner makes sure to come around and see to it that you've got everything you need. Get him talking, and he'll entertain you all night! Good music. Great ambience. A great place. None better.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I decided to make the trip to Conroe specifically for going to the Kaiserhof restaurant. We will most certainly be going back! I lived in Germany for 5 years and was feeling a little bit of German "Heimweh". Right off the bat, I felt like I was back in Bonn (right next to Koeln). Our wonderful waitress was also from Koeln and made us feel very welcome. Of course we had to have a beer... unfortunately there is no way to serve Koelsch but a nice Bit was fine. The decor, the music and the smell brought back a lot of memories. One of my favorite dishes that I ate quite often in Germany was Jaegerschnitzel. The Kaiserhof Jaegerschnitzel was superb! Sehr Lecker! We were both quite impressed and plan on going back soon... with friends! Bis dann, Tschüs!

MY REVIEW: Friendly, family-owned place. I enjoyed chatting with the owners. Very good jaegerschnitzel. Zigeunerschnitzel was very spicy (too spicy for me) while I would have preferred more flavor in the potatoes. Nice torts and cakes for dessert. I recommend this place.

MY REVIEW: Great restaurant...awesome antiques to browse, great food, award-winning chef, and European service with a smile. Michael and Rosie form a winning recipe...if you visit in the winter, try the Schweine-Haxe...and tell them the Schpuler sent you!
Big Bill
p.s. As a side note...I sit writing this in Hamburg, Germany, on an overnight with the airline I work for. I just returned from dinner having eaten the Ziguener Schnitzel over here. Funny thing, but if you want a great Schnitzel, you are better off eating at Kaiserhof in Montgomery, Texas.

MY REVIEW: This was way better than I expected. We walked into the Kaiserhoff and found curiosities everywhere. Apparently , the owners are collectors of antiques, and interesting decor. There is something to look at in every corner.
The service was great. Prompt and friendly. If you like imported beer, this is the place, on draft and bottled. And a very extensive wine list. the house Riesling is wonderful. My husband ordered the Blue Cheese soup, which is to die for, then he ordered the "German Mixed Plate" which has a large sample of almost everything. (Rouladen, Saurbraten, Bratwurst, Klobse(meatball), Potato dumpling, homemade mashed potatoes,Red cabbage and Saurkraut. All superb and fresh.
I had ordered the creamy potato soup, which lives up to its name. For my entree, I ordered the "Schweine haxe", which is only available from October thru February. More food than I could handle. The waitress happily put my leftovers in a "to go" box.
It is definitely authentic German cooking, it is served in courses. First the appetizer(if ordered) then the soup(if ordered) the salad comes with all adult entrees. the chef and waitstaff space the meal out to accomodate a wonderful dining experience. Oh yes, the salad dressing is unique, awesome.
How could I leave this place without having a Palinshinken for dessert?
I had to have this Chocolate filled crepe, even tho I was more than full. What a treat !!... My husband had the Chocolate Mousse , decorated with unique looking pieces of fresh fruit. We will definately be back , and with friends and or family. We have discovered a Gem. But we are happy to share our "discovery".

MY REVIEW: My wife and I visit The Kaiserhof atleast one time a month and have loved it ALMOST every time. We think they changed their food slightly over the passed 4 years but still very good. They standard salad dressing they use is exellent! The portions of food are very good, the biggest downfall usually is the service. They have one waitress that is not too freindly and another waitress that is very good. Food is always hot and tasty, we are going again tonight, can't wait, we will request our favorite waitress, you should try it and pick your favorite waitress. You can buy the salad dressing at a very reasonable price, take some home.

MY REVIEW: We decided to visit the Kaiserhof in Montgomery due to it's closeness to Huntsville. My companion had never eaten German cuisine except for those dishes that I cook occassionally, and I wanted her to try it out. The menu looked impressive, the place was decorated nicely and she was impressed with the decor. We ordered the Bauerngrill and requested the sharen option for an additional $3.50 charge. The Bauerngrill is described as a mixed farmer grill with rib eye steak, bratwurst, Schnitzel, meatball, sauerkraut, red cabbage, Grilled tomato, vegetables and mashed potatoes. I asked to include a knockwurst with the meal. The knockwurst was not exceptional and was served lukewarm. A standard H*illside Farms sausage available at any K*rogers. The bratwurst as the standard H*illside Farms white cooked bratwurst and was grilled alright. The ribeye was a piece of shredded and formed pice of meat with no flavor and no resemblance to a rib eye that I am familiar with. The schnitzel was a formed piece of pork breaded with no resemblance to a schnitzel. It tasted blah. No flavor whatsoever. It appeared to be a standard pressed product, breaded and frozed and distributed averywhere. It definetely was not a schnitzel. The mashed potatoes appeared as a standard baked potatoe with butter (spread) and shredded cheese and was edible. The red cabbage was alright as was the sauerkraut. The grilled tomato was excellent. The salad dressing was superb and I was tempted to purchase a bottle before we were served the entree.
There were chicken nuggets and french fries on the childrens menu and all I can say is that we would have been better off ordering that than the Bauerngrill.
I world not recommend The Kaiserhof Restaurant to anyone considering trying German cuisine. That it definetely was not. I lived in Germany for 7 years while in the Army and am quite familiar with german cooking.

MY REVIEW: The appearance of this establishment led me to believe it very well could be a fine restraunt serving German cuisine. We had travelled to Renaissance for the past four years, driven by it and finally stopped last evening to try them out. I should have gone to M*cDonalds. Two daughters, wife, grandson and I arrived at 7:00, were promptly seated and within a few minutes, drink and food orders were taken. First to arrive at the table was my three year old grandsons' chicken nuggets - at 7:20. At 7:40 our salads arrived. At 8:10 our food finally made it out to the table. Folks, that was an hour after the order. The food was as ordered and hot. This is where the waitress finally refilled our drinks. I had the sausage plate with mashed potato and red cabbage. The potatoes were instant, the knachwurst was green inside, the bratwurst had zero flavor and the red cabbage had apparently cooked all day long. Save your time and money - want good German cuisine? Find somewhere else to go, 'cause this ain't it! They got my money once - that won't happen again.

MY REVIEW: Worth the drive from anywhere in Harris or surrounding counties. We discovered this excellent restaurant on our way back home from a motorcycle ride. We tried it, and have been back on many, many occasions. The salad dressing is quite unique, you have to try it! The service is superior and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. They also mix a mean "white russian".

MY REVIEW: I actually used to work at kaiserhof. The owners are great people who are very enthusiastic about their restaurant. While i worked there, Michael- co-owner and chef- would fix me all sorts of interesting meals to try out. The food was almost always great, though i tended to stay away from the sausages (i just dont really care for those, just my particular taste).
The thing i remember most about the place is the salad dressing. Its the best dressing i have ever had in my life, just thinking about it gets my mouth watering.
Rosie, Michael's wife/co-owner/head of the waitstaff/a waitress/probably something else, is also very nice, and she is very kind to the customers. She can help you figure out what you would like to get if you cant decide. I just cant stress how great this place is- i highly reccommend that you visit it if you have never been to it.

MY REVIEW: This was my third visit to Kaiserhof each time bringing another guest to enjoy the food as I have. My mother who was born in Germany made all of the entrees that were served by Kaiserhof so I was familiar with the menu. This is the first German restaurant I have visited that had such a variety as one would find in their homes and all were delicious. There is only one entree that my mother made that I have not been able to find in a german restaurant. In german it is called Katofel Glasse (spelling?) which is made from finely grated raw potatoes. It is a long, hard slow process and probably too time consuming for preparing in a resturant. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner on my first visit there and enjoyed his enthusiasm as a chef of german food. If you have not tried the Kaiserhof, you are missing a fine dining experience. The German beer was also excellent.

MY REVIEW: While me,my wife, and her parents (who's mom is from Germany) were visiting the shops in Old Town String the owner of German Haus, a german lady, highly recomended Kaiserhof Restaurant as the best German place around to eat. After about a 30 minute drive we arived at Kaiserhof. From the moment you entered you could tell you were in for a treat to eat. The german decor and authintic German music took Renae (my mother in law) back to the time when she was living and growing up in Germany. The waitress was very plesent and quickly recognised Ranae's German acent and spoke german with her asking what part of germany she was from. As we viewed the menue prices ranged from $8.00 to $15.00 for entres. I choosed the German Mixed Plater on speacel for $12.95 which included Roulade, Suaerbraten, Bratwurst, Konigsberger-klop, Red cabbage, Sauerkraut, Potato Dumplings & mashed potatoes. My wife and Ranae picked the pork Wiener Schnitzel. The meal came with salad that had a speaciel house dressing that was like no other. We asked what type it was and the waitress told us it was Chef Michael makes and sells it himself at the restaurant (we bought 2 bottles). We all agreed if the rest of the food was as good as the salad we were in for a treat & we surly were. When the food arrived the smell was incredable and the porsions were generous (very important to me I am 6ft and over 350lbs).Ranae tasted her Schnitsel and was very impessed. but all eyes were on my plate. I first tryed my favoret the Rouladen. I had tried this at other places and no one eles compared to Ranae's homemade till now. Like Ranae's homemade Rouladen Kaiserhof's was tender, flavorfull, and had all the ingrediance well diced including the pickle and bacon. We all took turns sampling ech others plates and enjoying each taste. The red cabbage was so good Ranae admited that it was even better than her own. Also, the german breads that came with the salad was great.
The only weak point I could find in our visit was that it was a hour and 45 minut drive away from my home in Santa Fe, Texas. It was well orth the drive & I cant wait to have time off to return again.
