MY REVIEW: Arrived Sunday evening a little before closing. Only 3-4 tables were occupied by parties who had already been served and were enjoying quiet conversations in this romantic restaurant overlooking a garden and Clear Lake. We live in the area, but seem to forget about Villa Capri when we want Italian. Well, that is not likely to happen again as we had 2 wonderful entrees. I ordered rigatonni with sausages. Italian comfort food, could not have enjoyed more. But the dish my wife decided to try (at the suggestion of our waiter) was cheese tortelleni with aspargus and ham in a very creamy white sauce. The waiter (who was very knowledgeable, but went AWOL for much of the evening) described this dish as "ice cream". And he was right. Seemed to be based in wine, heavy cream and butter with a hint of mushroom flavor. And it was slightly sweet---in a good way. Most delicious, complex sauce I have ever tasted. But finish it there because leftovers did not reheat well the next day----butter seperated from cream. Excellent salad bar, a cut above. Prices were reasonable for quality of food. But would like to see them offer a good italian bread. What they serve are toasted buns that probably are leftover from the sandwhich buns from their sister restaurant, F*renchies.

MY REVIEW: We eat there quite often and have brought friends on several occasions. We have never had a bad experience. The food is always very good and the view is unbelievable. When we go we sit and have drinks before we order dinner. Sometimes we sit and visit with each other for an hour before we even place our main meal order. They have never minded us taking out time. It's never been a problem getting their attention if we needed anything. We even had our Christmas party (55 people) at the last minute and everything was wonderful. And they had two other Christmas parties on the same evening. They are great people. Our hats are off to the whole bunch! Thanks.

MY REVIEW: I can't say enough about Villa Capri. My girlfriend and I have gone there 3 or 4 times. Service is great, food is excellent, and ambiance is like no other. The staff has always treated us like family. We held my girlfriend's birthday party there and we forgot the candles, the owner, Josepi (hope I got that right) went to the store and bought her some, got the staff together and sang Happy Birthdy to her in both English and Italian.
We live in the Galleria area of Houston, sure there are other places close by, but Villa Capri is definently worth the drive.

MY REVIEW: Food was good, salad bar was good, view was good. only thing lacking was the service. it was not up to par considering the standards of the restaurant. had to wait long time for water, the check, etc. we could have been gone sooner if it wasnt for the service. its as if they wanted us to stay longer to enjoy the view.

MY REVIEW: I went for lunch and really was quite surprised at the beautiful view of the gardens and Clear Lake. The service was very good and the lunch buffet was an excellent value for the cost of $7.95. The salad buffet was very fresh and every item delicious. The only item on the entree buffet that was a disappointment was the shrimp. It was an out of the freezer, breaded variety, you might find at the local grocery. It was tasteless, not what you'd expect at a nice restaurant on the gulf coast. We enjoyed the Italian Creme cake. It was the best I've every tasted. I will return.

MY REVIEW: I agree with several of the reviews. The food is excellent with lots of depth and flavor. The lunch buffet is a nice way to see the range of food they have, and for $7.95 it is an awesome deal. The salad bar is alway fresh and has an interesting mix. The entrees are large and well presented. Cooked vegetables are just right (done, but not soggy). Desserts are great (and huge!). The view is excellent, which is kind of a surprise. There really isn't any indication of the garden from the front, and with a lot of other places around the lake there isn't nearly the view.
The big concern I have that I have been there 3 times in the last month and the service has been well below par. The staff is friendly, but either completely streched too thin or not interested in service. They do not write down orders, which is perfectly acceptable if they get it right, but that has not been the case. They have come back to the table to request a repeat of the order, or we have to remind them to bring us items.
Yesterday we went and and were the only customers beside a bridal reception. We sat for 15 mintues before being asked if we had been served. There were no waitstaff with the bridal recieption, so they were not taking time with them. The staff could be seen talking in back. This occured several times and we were often out of water and beverages for 10 minutes at a strech (for the beverages that they remembered to bring to us). Dessert was not offered, we had to ask for it. For a buffet, this service could be acceptable, but for lunch or dinner this is not going to cut it. We understand this is not a fast food place, but we ended up being at the restaurant for 2 1/2 hours, not by our desire, but due to the speed of the waitstaff.
For as good as the food and view is, service like this will soon prevent me from going back. There are several places in town that would make you feel more welcome.

MY REVIEW: Amazing enough, this restaurant is excellent. It's a long shot from it's sister restaurant (under the same ownership), Frenchie's, which is remarkably horrible waitstaff. Great place with great food and a great view. Most of their concentration goes int Villa Capri--do this over Frenchies.

MY REVIEW: My family took me to Villa Capri for Mother's Day brunch. The patio w/ view of the lake was very nice. The food was excellent and the desserts "to die for". Look forward to visiting again, this time at night on the patio with all the lights. Wait staff and owner very friendly. Service on the patio a little slow, but the restaurant was full.

MY REVIEW: My son and his new bride had their wedding reception at the Villa Capri Restaurant and the event turned out great! The food was very good and also the staff was very attentive. The wedding cake was the best Italian cream I have ever tasted. We felt that everyone had a great time and I would highly recommend this fine restaurant to anybody whether they go just for a meal or a special event.

MY REVIEW: The only restaurant I know in the Clear lake area that has a beautiful garden overlooking the lake. For once one does not have to freeze in AC polar conditions and one can sit outside without a view on a parking lot!! The staff is extremely friendly.
I only wish the food was better. It is very blend italian food. Please guys, make an effort on your cooking!! It is tasteless!!
