MY REVIEW: Not impressed with the shrimp & oyster po-boy. Oysters were small, but fried perfectly. Shrimp were medium at best, but they, too, were cooked nicely. This could've been an ok poor boy but the bread just did not measure up. It had no crustiness at all---just a soft & cold bun. To make matters worse, there was no dressing on the sandwich, so it tended to be dry. Good thing I asked for remoulade sauce to go with the side order of hush puppies I ordered, because I used some to relieve the dryness of the po-boy. Hush puppies were small and dense. Remoulade was different than any I have ever had, but I enjoyed it. Onion rings appeared to be frozen pre-made. I had heard good things about the po-boys at this locals hangout, but it was average at best.

A child's plate of chicken fried steak & fries was a disgrace to one of the state's favorite foods. The CFS (if you can call it that) was one of those pre-made frozen things you find at the grocery--essentially a pounded hamburger patty that was breaded and fried. The awful BROWN gravy was canned. I noticed they had a CFS po-boy on the menu and I'm wondering if they have the nerve to use the same mystery meat they pass off on the child's plate??

This place has a good reputation and always seems to bring in big crowds. All I can say is they must be coming for something other than the po-boys.

MY REVIEW: Got there right before noon and glad we did, BY the time we got our ordr the line was out the door. Had xatfish and gumbo on the recommendation od a New Orleans native. The gumbo was not as good as gumbp I have eaten in LA, however it was better trhan any I have had in Texas in a long time. Catfish was great, however I prefer M*els in Tomball. Prices were reasonable. I would go back again for the food. Don't expect great ambience. Its eat it and beat it.

MY REVIEW: Freindly-courteous service; gumbo was tasty, stuffed shimp were very good, as was the traditional shirmp po-boy, and crab po-boy. Appears that rennovations were done after Ike, and they did a great job on the decor. Another nice plus was being able to have our dog sit with us at the outdoor table while we dined.

MY REVIEW: Been here once and I will be back. Simply put, good seafood at a reasonable price. Coconut shrimp is really good and the peel and eat shrimp were cooked perfect. Bottomless ice teas and a outdoor patio too when it cools off. Front door parking if you get there before noon for lunch. Fast order prep too.

MY REVIEW: Visited with my family yesterday while doing around on the Island - can't say enough good things about it! Food was DELICIOUS, prices were CHEAP, service was FAST, place was CLEAN..bathrooms included! Hesitated to bring our dog on the day trip because we were afraid of finding a dog-friendly restaraunt that actually had good food, but we know now that Shrimp N Stuff is our place when we come to Galveston with the pooch - dogs are welcome on the covered patio! Not crowded - not a dive - not a tourist attraction...just right!! Go check em' out!!!

MY REVIEW: 2nd time visit after I liked the first. First time was to go and when I got home I found one of my shrimp stuffed with crabmeat was actually stuffed with a green pepper instead. How can you make that mistake? 2nd time we ate in and everything was perfect. This is not a tourist place, mainy Galveston locals go here but their menu is in with the brochures in the tourist racks well outside of Galveston.

The food is very fresh caught seafood with good breading on the fried things. Everyone is friendly behind the counter. There is outdoor seating you can bring your dogs. They get a pretty good crowd for lunch.

MY REVIEW: We went there yesterday. We had fried catfish and shrimp and it was REAL good, including the FFs and hushpuppies. The cole slaw was good too. They had some good lookin desserts but I didn't go there. Try it. This is one of the only places I like to eat in Galveston.

MY REVIEW: Very clean restaurant and the employees very friendly and helpful. I don't know if there has been a change since IKE, but the food was only so-so. I had the fried oyster plate. The oysters were large and perfect!! However, the coleslaw appeared to be the bulk kind from Sam's and the hush puppies were heavy and dull. My dining partner got the shrimp and oyster po boy. While the fried meats were very tasty, it was simply a few pieces on dry bread. No lettuce, tomatoes and the sauce was served on the side. The side salad was a pre-packaged plastic container with a packet of blue cheese. I hope we just hit the place on a bad day as I was truly impressed with the friendly atmosphere, but only fair food.

MY REVIEW: A few Galveston natives had recommended this joint. My Red Hat Society group (over 30 of us) descended on this place at lunch time during the Victorian Homes Tour. The kids were who were working that day handled the crowd like pros. Despite the commotion we caused, and the flurry of so many orders, this place ran smooth as silk. We all got settled into tables, with drinks and food, very fast. So the service was quite good.

The food? I know my shrimp was fried perfectly, and tasted very fresh, the french fries were HOT, and the homemade coleslaw was actually very good. The hush puppies were wonderful; I ate everyone. I heard comments that the shrimp planks were tasty also. The lemonade was worth the money, and the key lime pie was perfect (slightly tart, not that cloying sweet stuff) and quite obviously homemade, although it's not made on premises.

The verdict: Loved it. We all want to come back again next year. And I will probably be back sooner than that, if I can.

MY REVIEW: I highly recommend this place. We drive from Houston just to eat here. The Roumalade Sauce is great - homemade! The shrimp and oysters are fried to perfection. The shrimp gumbo is to die for. It is not fancy, paper plates, platic flatware, etc., but the food is outstanding! This is where the local people eat. Try it, you will love it!

MY REVIEW: Our whole family loves Shrimp & Stuff (6 of us). They have an awesome chicken salad for those who don't like seafood. Best po-boys around. Shrimp is fresh and cooked just right. If you ever get a bad meal let the owner or manager know and they will make it right. I've only been eating here regularly for 28 years and NEVER gotten a bad meal, not to say it can't happen, but it's pretty unlikely! It is all cooked to order, so expect to wait a few minutes, but when you get it, it's freshly cooked just for you.

The fish dinner is one of the best bargains, everyone always goes for the shrimp, but the fish is excellent too.

This place is a little hard to find if you're not a local, look for 39th Street from either Broadway or Seawall and you will find it at the intersection of Avenue P.

MY REVIEW: Hands down the best Gumbo anyehere. I know the owner personally watches the staff prepare it each time and he tastes it himself. I also have known him to throw out a batch if it did not meet his standard. All the food is prepared on site. Try the shrimp salad .

MY REVIEW: Live in League City, but never been even though we have heard for years that it is a favorite of locals. I can see why---a no frills place where you order at the counter and get a good selection of mostly fried seafood and sandwiches that, for the most part, are pretty tasty. Prices are good which is to be expected from a place with no table service, styrofoam plates and plastic forks. Still, a good choice for those wanting good food at good prices in a neighborhood setting (try the patio). Will return and sample more goodies from their large menu.

MY REVIEW: This place has very good seafood, inexpensive, generous portions, The oyster poor boy is really good, but a bit sparse on the oysters. This place is ALWAYS packed at lunch time, we always try to go later like after 1:30 but is still often crowded then. I tried the weekend for the first time this time we went and it was STILL PACKED, which is a good sign of great food!!!

This place is DEFINITLEY something to try again and again.

MY REVIEW: We ate here last year and it was very good, however, not this time. The shrimp had that frozen boxed look and taste. Even though the prices are cheap it's still not worth it. To many other good restaurants in Galveston to eat at.
