MY REVIEW: This place has good burgers and a great view. I don't understand why people are saying that the burgers expensive. No, they're not M*cDonald's cheap, but they taste way better than M*cDonalds burgers. They're reasonably priced, in my opinion. The burgers are huge and tasty. They have plenty of topping options, so you'll definitely be able to find something you like. My boyfriend and I split an order of curly fries too. It was a huge portion--more than enough for 2 people. The fries were ok. Nothing spectacular. I imagine the onion rings are probably a more exciting choice. And of course, you can't beat the view. Overall, a pretty good experience. We left with our bellies more than full for well under $20.

MY REVIEW: The burgers were very good-but very pricey!!!!! Waitstaff is mediocre, but management is outright rude. The owner got ticked because we moved the table about a foot to the right. No Joke! Too many other good burger restaurants in Galveston to waste your time and money on this rude place.

MY REVIEW: We love to go to Michael Burger. It's best when the weather allows sitting out on the porch with the Gulf view. The burgers are great; the fries orders are large and delicious. Whenever our grandchildren come to visit from up north, Michael Burger is the first place they want to go. It has become a family tradition. As well as burgers, German food is offered and it's great, too. The only annoyance is the noise of the traffic, but that's not their fault, and you can always just go inside.

MY REVIEW: yes, it is expensive but great view, clean and one of the best burgers I have had. A lot of burger and fries for the money. The Jamaica Beach burger was the best.

MY REVIEW: Burgers and fries are just ok. You have to pay up front so if you decide while eating that you want another beer, you have to get up and wait in line to pay for it. Very inconvenient, especially when it gets busy.

MY REVIEW: This time we went, we split a burger and order of fries, had 1 glass of wine and one beer and our order was about 22.00. The meat tasted completely different than it always has. We won't go back I don't think that was my last time to "just give it a shot" as a local. Can't expect to charge prices like that for a burger if it isn't the best quality when there are more than 3-4 really good places on the island for an excellent burger.

MY REVIEW: We go to Cafe Michael Burger every time we are in Galveston, which is quite often. For those of you that do not know, Michael Burger is his name--he's German. He serves great burgers and wonderful German food. Michael and Debra are the nicest people you could want to meet--very personable and friendly. All of the staff have been very friendly and helpful every time we have been there.

One of the best things about this restaurant is the view--it is WONDERFUL!!! Sit out on the covered patio and enjoy the great view and cool ocean breezes--even in summer--and let your cares melt away.

I have heard people talk about how "expensive" the burgers are and yet everyone calls G*aido's and C*asey's and F*ertittaville restautants "reasonable". Give me a break. If you want a 99 cent burger, there are plenty of fast food outlets available. But you won't get a burger anywhere near as good as Michael's. These burgers are BIG (we always split one) and you can get them topped with a variety of toppings. They are around 5 - 6 dollars, certainly no more expensive than any burger restaurant in Houston. And the burger places here don't have the great view and cool ocean breezes. If the fries are too much for you, ask for a half order. You still get plenty of fries for about half the price. If you are in the mood for something different, try a German sampler. It's a wonderful meal for around 5 dollars. Split some bratkartoffels (fried potatoes) with someone to go with the German sampler. It's a BIG order and goes with the sampler perfectly.

You are in Galveston--relax. Order a delicious burger, or German sampler, or whatever suits you, grab a cold beer (they have a great selection of German and domestic) or a glass of wine, or a soft drink or root beer float, sit out on the patio and just enjoy yourself. Chill out for awhile and enjoy the terrific view and cool breezes--this is a the perfect place to do that--and just enjoy life. Guten apetit!

MY REVIEW: The good - the German food. The bad - the attitude of the help. The ugly - the rudeness of the management. We will never go there again.

MY REVIEW: Ridiculously overpriced! An order of french fries and a soda came to $5! Then the manager wanted to charge me extra for ranch dressing. I left before spending another $6 for a burger.
