MY REVIEW: What a great place! We had heard a lot about it but it was always too crowded when we went before (always around the Round Top Antiques Fair). It was worth waiting for! Fun, funky decor (what's with the hanging zip lock bags of water?-we forgot to ask) and a place obviously run by a family with a GREAT sense of humor--loved the reading glasses on the tables and wish more places would have them! The tenderloin sandwhich and salad were wonderful and my son devoured the grilled quail-it was a wonderful sight since he is a picky eater. Bud won him over-he already wants to go back! The chocolate chip pie was the best of all the pies we ordered but that is not to say the others weren't delicious also.

MY REVIEW: This is definatelly my favorite restaurant in all of Texas. It's right between Austin and Houston, making it a great meeting place. My family also has the pleasure of having a ranch only 30 minutes away, so we go regulary.
All the food is delicous, and no one will go hungry when going to Royers. They have something for everyone. Chicken, Steak, Salad's... the list could go on and on. They also have the most fantastic roll's and herb butter. Even the side dishes are great. All the choices are amazing, and it's hard to pick just two. The atmosphere of Royers is very relaxed and welcoming. The walls are plastered with sayings, pictures, and menus. There is even an alligator with an arm in it! I hope that didn't scare you off, because this place is definatelly worth the drive.
But enough with the drive, we have pie to talk about. Apple, Pecan, Buttermilk, Chocolate chip, Peach and others, all served with Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla on top. A delicious mixture. Go to Royers whenever you have the time, it's something you don't want to miss.

MY REVIEW: O.K. it's crowded, it's funky, it's noisy..so relax, have fun, chat with Bud..and EAT! We sat on stools at a tiny counter, talkin' bout Austin with Bud till our food arrived. Then we shut up. Absolutely moist snapper in a zippy tomato, garlic, shrimp, wine sauce, stellar mashed potatoes, surprisingly good cold broccoli with raisins, hot rolls and herb butter (we were told not to fill up on 'em).
My friend had grilled pork tenderloin in a sweet and tangy sauce and black eyed peas that would win a yankee heart. Oh my, the pie. Rhubard and strawberry with a granola topping and Bluebell HM vanilla. Negatives: not many. Let us know you don't take credit cards up front please. Used my last 28 cents, but had to leave a good tip for the charming server. So worth the drive from Houston. Oh, my friend would have prefered plain ole Texas tea instead of that "sissy flavored stuff". Me, I liked it, and next time will have some of that Shiner Bock on tap. Unique, yummy, and Bud's a great guy. Go!

MY REVIEW: This is absolutely one of my favorite off the beaten path places to go! A treasure of a find in Round Top. The food is consistently good with family service and a quaint atmosphere. Hours are strange and sometimes it gets crowded, but very worth it. Try the chocolate chip tollhouse pie! Yummy!
