MY REVIEW: I work Mon - Fri in the Galleria area and by the end of the week I'm ready to trade the business suits and high heels for jeans and a T-shirt. Carl's Back Porch is my idea of the simple life! The place definitely has character, for instance, our customary booth is adorned with duct tape! How cool is that??? My favorite menu item is "The Texas Chow Down". It's a baked potato with bar-b-que brisket and the works. And of course the margarita's are always a refreshing treat. Live karoake entertainment is included on Fri & Sat night. I used to think people had to be wasted to do that, Ha! We've even heard a few youngster's that actually have talent! There's a petting zoo and fishing pond for additional entertainment. I would say that Carl's is a place for those times when you just want to get away.

MY REVIEW: We usually go to the other location on 290 before Telge but we visited the Grant road location because the have Karaoke on Saturday nights. It was a lot of fun. They have in my opinion the best barbeque around and it's a friendly atmosphere with a petting zoo for the kids and a fishing pond for the guys. If you dont like heat or bugs I dont suggest it for Karaoke. Karaoke is on the porch and while there are fans and such it still can get pretty hot. But all in all its a fun place for family and friends to sit back relax and have some really good barbeque!

MY REVIEW: I was looking for a petting zoo to take my 14 mo old daughter. It sounded wonderful that we could have dinner at the same place. I called to make sure the petting zoo was open. They said, "Of coarse!" One and a half hours later when we got there, there was a lock on the gate and when we asked, they said that the petting zoo was closed because of the mud and the rain. It rained the whole day, including the time I called. Very disappointing!!!

MY REVIEW: This place is really good and they have a petting zoo for the kids. There's also all day catch & release fishing for $2. I've caught quite a few bass in their lake. They also have a AYCE BBQ buffet every day for $6-$7. They rock!

MY REVIEW: My husband and I are new to the area and saw the restaurant. We decided to check it out. The food was good and it had a casual relaxed atmosphere. Even entertainment! The prices were excellent. I had the bbq chicken, it was very good.

MY REVIEW: It was really an accident that we ate at Carl's back porch on a Sunday. We were looking for someone where to eat, bc we were out house hunting. We happened to drive by, but weren't sure if they were open on Sundays. I am so happy they were. We were able to experience great food at a great price, friendly employees, beautiful atmosphere. We like it so much that we have decided to have our 4 yr old daughter's birthday there. She loved feeding the ducks an petting the animals. It is a great place to have a get together and relax out outdoors.

MY REVIEW: If you want down-home, country-livin' AUTHENTIC Texas barbeque, then Carl's Back Porch is the place to be!! Located just a mile from the intersection of Jones and Grant Roads, this quaint smokehouse offers not only fantastic barbeque at quality prices, but it also lends itself to a family outing experience by virtue of a small petting zoo and two HUGE fish and release ponds. I wholeheartedly recommend you stop in and give it a try!
