MY REVIEW: Took my wife out to try something new. We discovered this gem thru the entertainment book. She had the combo plate (steak, sausage, pork belly) and I had the shredded beef with lentils. The food was fabulous and the place was entertaining with music and all the gorgeous Columbian women there. This is one place you have to try. A bit far but well worth it. Will definitely go back.

MY REVIEW: What a wonderful place. As I was redicovering D*odo's last week.. I came across this place right next door, making it a point to go for lunch today. I am very pleased. I had liver and onions which was superior. The service was above excellent and the price were worth writing home about. The Colombian coffee was equally to the best coofee's of Greece and Italy. Needless, to say I am happy with this find and will reurn often.

MY REVIEW: Strong Points: Excellent friendly service. Great food and portions for the price. Family oriented. The place was expanded and now includes a nice bar with plasma screen. Kudos to the owners/managers
Weak Points: A bit far. Suggestion to open a Second Restaurant i.e Sugarland Town Center.

MY REVIEW: I still to this day find it very odd that a person would complain about a eatery charging more then .50 cents for a coke. yes it cost the establishment .50 cents but they also have to pay, rent (to house your coke), insurance ( in case you sue because of the coke), electric (to keep your coke cold), staff wages (to handle your coke). Not to mention if you pay via credit card the charges the CC company charge back to the restaurant. Also the receipts from the register, and the credit card machine cost money. Way should the restaurant not charge $2.00? It seems fair to me and I will pay it. To boycott a place because you can not get it for .50 is your choice but your choice will be limited to eating at wholesale grocey stores.

MY REVIEW: first off i wanna say im colombian and mi pueblito brings me back to my country soo much. I bring my mexican and salvadorian friends to show them how different our food is.I lived in colombian many years so i never have aquired the taster for spicy mexican food or all that cheese and beans and tortillas. I go there as often as i can. Their empanadas are awesome and so is the arepo con queso.I strongly suggest agua panela too. It also helps that my dad is one of the guys in the trio.I get to eat the food i love and enjoy my dad sing with his strong voice to me. I suggest it to all colombian and curious people as well.

MY REVIEW: The service was excellent!!! However, the food was not. We ordered the tamales as we weren't hungry. They were quite greasy.

MY REVIEW: Strong Points: The food is good and they give you alot to eat. I have never really eaten there at the restaurant I normally order to go, because I can not eat at places were they charge $2.00 for a 50 cent can of coke. Never the less the food is awsome. We religiosly eat the bandeja montanera there and nothing else I recommend this plate to any one who is hungry. The people are friendly and are always happy to attend you even when ordering to go.
Weak Points: well I can not really think of any since we have never eaten in the restaurant, like I said we always order to go.
Ambiance: Every time we order food from there and no matter what time of the day it is this place is always packed and rocking, so they must be doing something good there.
Specialties: Bandeja Montanera is a must get

MY REVIEW: The service was great but the food was not. The bunuelos were stale, the arepa was extremely undercooked and they didn't even use "quesito", the pandebono was also stale and served cold. The blackberry juice was good, and so were the empanadas, but other than that, I don't recommend this place if you like typical Colombian bakery products.

MY REVIEW: This place is consistantly good. The service is great and the food is delicious with large portions. Colombian food differs from mexican food in that the closest a colombian gets to anything spicy is the Thai restaurant around the corner. THEY DON'T EAT CHILI (AJI). That said, they do serve a small bowl of Aji to put on your empanadas that is tasty and hot.
You should really find a colombian friend to take you and show you what to order, however WHEN you finally get around to going, Order AJIACO (potato soup)and put the cream and capers in it. The small bowl is enough for two normal people or one Colombian who isn't hungry. Another good soup is Sancocho, which is a chicken soup.
I have never eaten a decent piece of meat at any colombian restaurant, but Mi Pueblitos isnt bad. Order the medium bandeja paisa if you like beans, rice and stuff. The Milanesa is very good too.
My family eats here at least 1-2 times a week, if only to have some soup. I strongly recommend this place
** WANT SOME ATMOSPHERE? go on a friday night between 7-9pm they have a live trio of older gents playing guitar and singing.

MY REVIEW: Strong points: 4th person eats free!!! Good Food and ambience. Open Late!!!
Weak points: waiting for food to come
I forced my Mexican friends to come to this place. They all thanked me in the end. It was so GOOD!!!! This one big guy (at least 200 lbs) ate a small bandeja paisa (about $7) He was full halfway through. It was awesome, because I got to eat the rest!!! Anyhow, the empanadas are authentic, and so is the everpresent aji. Plantains are really good. Still need to try the arepas and "jugo natural". It does justice to our food back home.

MY REVIEW: Absolutley love this place! Unfortunately I'm a creature of habbit and I usually order the samething all the time. The Bandejas is wonderful and I love that they serve it in two different sizes (the larger size can feed a small third world country so I always go for the smaller size and I ususally have left-overs from that! I'm a big guy and I pack away alot and the serving portions for the Bandejas is huge!). However the yellow sweet plantains can be a little dry at times (it's really hit or miss no matter where you go, I've even had bad murduros plantainos @ C*hurrasco's as well) but for the most part they dependably done right. The prices are cheap and the service is great. I've never really had a problem with the waitstaff or management. They have always been very friendly and I've always had service with a smile without ordering it off of the menu. I highly recommend this place.
The atmosphere is great as well. Not too classy but relaxed and fun to where you can meet up with friends you haven't seen in a while and spend hours eating, drinking and chatting away. Also kid friendly for those who have kids. Most of the customers I have seen eating there are couples or groups of 20-30 yr. olds with occasional older couples and occasional "new" families here and there.

MY REVIEW: I just love this place. I ordered Bandeja Paiza - medium plate - as warned by lots of friends -- I still surprised of the served portion.... It's delicious and the price is resonable. At 8PM, they also have "mariachi" (kind of) band with three old men singing, playing guitars..... I'll invite my neighbours to come with me next time.

MY REVIEW: Ajiaco colombiano (chicken/potato/corn soup) and tipiquito are especially good. Also try the bunuelos, a sort of round puffed cheese roll. The juices are great and they come in HUGE sizes. I had never had Colombian food before coming to Houston, and Pueblito is a great place to try it. Never been there for dinner, but the lunch prices are very reasonable, given the quality and quantity.
Service is unfailingly friendly and obliging. I'm allergic to eggs but they are always willing to substitute more plantains instead of an egg. Sorry to hear "Harry" had such a bad experience - the menu is clear on what's in each dish. The thing he objected to was probably a long strip of chicharron, it's a little surprising when you first see it!

MY REVIEW: One of the best Colombian restaurants in Houston. Not too expensive. During the week, 4 can eat for the price of 3 for lunch.
The bandeja paisa is great as well as the sancocho and chorizo. Very authentic Colombian cuisine.
My wife is from Colombia and she loves the tamales (different from Mexican tamales). They don't have them always and you may need to call ahead. You can order them frozen to go and stock up at home.

MY REVIEW: I love this restaurant. For starters, it's a great value. You really get your moneys worth. Moreover, the food is DELICIOUS. My favorite plate is a grilled chicken that comes with rice, beans, salad, and fried plantains. Definetely must check this place out!
It's sad that the visitor who posted the review before mine had such an awful experience because this place is top notch!

MY REVIEW: We had our first and last visit today. I asked the waiter what he would recommend - what is really good here. I guess that confused him, because he had no recommendations - just identified what was on the menu. Maybe I expect too much from a waiter - a good waiter is such a treat these days. We ordered a catfish soup and a strange-sounding concoction mixed steak/sausage/egg/pork/bean/rice dish. Though the fish soup was pretty good, neither of could accept it was catfish - but no biggie. The other dish was large, but deceiving in that it was over 1/2 beans and rice. The waiter asked us how we liked it, and we said everything was fine except that we didn't care for the cylindrical pork/pig gut thing (it was kind of fatty and nasty). He returned to our surprise with the manager which I thought showed good care and service. I explained everything tasted OK, except for this "thing", and if he wouldn't mind exchanging it for perhaps a sausage or small strip of steak or whatever. He then explained to me I shouldn't have started eating it if I wanted something else! Excuse me - was I not supposed to even slice off a small piece to try? He then started rambling on about the health dept. and not being able to exchange it. This made no sense to either of us, at which time I moved the "thing" to a small dish and asked them to take it away! Too bad the manager didn't show a little common sense or customer service - oh well. As a waiter or manager, why even ask the customer if everything is OK when if it isn't, you say "so what?" or even worse lecture the customer. I really felt bad after afterwards, and won't be visiting again.
Such a contrast to Red Onion, where the owner was so nice he sat and spoke with us for 20 minutes... after they closed!

MY REVIEW: I love this place, an excellent restaurant and an excellent value. Very good and professional waiters. Some of my favorites are the soups, also called sancocho, especially the fish and the chicken ones. I always recommend this as the best Colombian restaurant in Houston.

MY REVIEW: I have been to Colombian restaurants in NY, NJ, Los Angeles, Miami and Orlando and let me tell you this, Ave Maria Hombre Dios Pues, se lo comieron. This retaurant is right up there with the flavors from my Barrio, El Recreo in Baranquilla! Gracias Paiza por hacerme sentir como si estuviera en Mi Pueblito! For the non bi-linguals, Thank you for making me feel like if I was back in my home town, El Recreo.

MY REVIEW: You know your in luck when the locals outnumber tourists...This place appeals to colombians and it is obvious to the authentic colombian cuisine. The value items such as a bandeja montanera are available weekdays for $5.00 ! Look past the spartan atmosphere for authentic flavor.

MY REVIEW: The best Colombian cuisine in Houston. Very authentic and generous portions. Try the Bandeja Paisa and Milanesa. Also, their soups (sancocho) are great.
Their weak point are the desserts (tres leches, flan).

MY REVIEW: My wife and I are frequent visitors at Mi Pueblito. Apparently named after a small town called Pueblito Paisa near Medellin, (more of a musuem/tourist trap than a town), this restaurant serves very good Colombian food. I recommend the Sancocho de Cola (oxtail soup) or Sancocho de Gallina (hen soup), the Bandeja Montaņera (mountaneers platter) is a thin grilled flank steak, rice, beans, chorizo(sausage),fried sweet plantains, avacodo and my favorite, Chicharron (pork belly with the fat and skin fried until crispy). Quite a lot of food on one plate unless you get the lunch special. The only complaint I have is that when they first opened, the steak was cooked on a wood fire and was delicious, but now it seems it is cooked "a la plancha" which means on a griddle.
