MY REVIEW: We have enjoyed dining at Casey's several times in the past because of the good service and quality entres for the price. On this visit, we were a bit dissappointed, as a couple of our entres (shrimp and a gumbo) were overly salty! In the past, the flavor of our meals had not been masked with too much seasoning, but this visit was different. Certainly a let down from what we've experienced on our previous visits. Despite the let-down on our food, the prompt seating and service was good, despite the large number of patrons that afternoon.

MY REVIEW: Great place -- the reviews are not wrong! Had the mushroom appetizer -- it was great and huge. THen I hade the scallops and shrimp and my partner had the fish and shrimp. It was wonderful, the scallops melted in my mouth, the shrimp was fresh and tender. Definitely a great place to eat......

MY REVIEW: This was my first visit to Casey's. I'll definitely go back. The food was great and much cheaper than similar restaurants. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the view and the weather. Our waiter was efficient and prompt, without wanting to tell us his life story. It was a very good dining experience and we were happily stuffed when we left. Highly recommended.

MY REVIEW: This restaurant is definitely worth the price! The portions are more than enough, and service is excellent.
We started with the seafood stuffing balls on a bed of waffle fries which were absolutely amazing, but they give you a ton of fries, so pace yourself if you ordered a big meal, too. We decided to share, having read previous reviews, and got the Famous Shrimp Platter and Seafood Platter #3. All of the food was served hot (except the shrimp cocktail, of course) with incredible flavor. I didn't order a salad since we were sharing, but the server brought me one anyway, no charge. The Honey Pecan Vinaigrette dressing is a rarity that I wish I had the recipe for, because it was so good. All of the food we ordered, plus fresh bread and stuffing balls, was more than enough for the three of us. We didn't even have room for dessert, which is almost impossible for us! The bill cost a total of about $50 for three adults plus drinks, and the amount of food we got for that price was a great deal. Be sure to bring a healthy appetite!

MY REVIEW: I agree with the folks from up north: dallas visitor and sodbuster---this is a good choice when on the island. We live in League City which is in Galveston Co. and have been going to Galveston a little more often lately. We've been to Casey's a couple times recently and glad we did. Like G*aido's, they stress SERVICE, and of course, good food. If the service and food are not to your liking, tell the manager who personally VISITS each table. Wish the owner of one of my favorites, R*ed snapper Inn, (actually in Surfside/Freeport) would do the same because last time we ate there some of the items were way below par (see my review posted a week ago). In fact, we ate at Casey's the next day after some glitches at R*ed Snapper Inn.
Good work, Casey's!

MY REVIEW: When on the island, we always stop at Casey's. The shrimp platter is worth the wait! The food is the same quality as G*aido's at less cost. Of course, it also lacks the tableclothes and dimmed lights of G*aidos. However we go for the shrimp!

MY REVIEW: We go there whenever we're in Galveston. Definitely family friendly. The food is always good and plentiful, and they have peanut butter & jelly as a choice on the kids menu! If you have room, try the bread pudding for dessert.

MY REVIEW: I simply love all the platters. but be prepared to wait 30min to an hour on weekends, and there's not really any place to sit while you wait. The food is good not extraordinary, but the price is what keeps me going back. And how can I forget the 7-layer chocolate cake; it is superb!

MY REVIEW: My husband and I were very pleased with our experience at Casey's. This was our first visit to the coast from North Texas. I had read some chilling reviews on this site of other restaurants in the area and was concerned about what we might experience. However, we have nothing but praise for the quality of the meal and the service.
We waited about 10 minutes for seating in the smoking section which we didn't feel was unreasonable for a busy restaurant on a Friday evening. The area where we were seated was in the bar section and was a bit noisy, but we were seated near the window and had a delightful view of the ocean. There was a very casual atmosphere and everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
Our server, S., was very prompt in taking our order and very helpful in answering our questions. She didn't write anything down on a pad which seems important to some of the posters on this site. I was pleased that she got the order correct with no problems. We both suffer from a bit of a hearing loss and she was very patient in repeating things for us.
A still warm loaf of bread was delivered to our table which we enjoyed sampling while we waited a very short time for our salad. When it arrived, the veggies were very fresh and crisp. The honey mustard dressing was delicious.
My husband ordered the shrimp platter and I ordered a seafood platter. The food was delicious and the servings were more than adequate. My husband enjoyed each of the ways the shrimp was prepared including the stuffed shrimp, but delighted in the grilled shrimp and the "cocktail" shrimp. I, too, enjoyed the grilled shrimp after having purloined a few from his plate. He also like the rice that came with his order. The fried shrimp was large, butterflied, and delicious. The sea balls and crab leg concoctions (seafood in season portion) that came with my order were something I had not tried before, but were very tasty. The catfish filet was also cooked to perfection. Each of our orders also came with waffle fries.
The manager made the rounds checking that everything was in order during our meal and was very friendly.
When I informed our server that our only problem was that neither of us were going to be able to finish our meal, she promptly suggested take out containers. We had also been given a coupon at our hotel for complimentary desserts which we were able to take with us. Each dessert was enough for two or more. The key lime pie that we enjoyed later that night was delicious. The 7 layer chocolate cake, to a chocolate addict such as me, was indescribably delicious and was of such proportions that even I couldn't finish it off in one sitting. In fact, the last bit of cake is calling to me three days later from the refrigerator at my home to join its buddies.
The shrimp and crab legs that we were not able to finish that night were still very tasty the next day, even cold, further down the coast where we enjoyed them for lunch while sitting on the beach. However, in the future we will probably order one shrimp platter and then something from the menu that would be smaller in proportion and then share to get a taste of some different offerings.
Our total bill was just under $39.00, including tax, but not including the tip. Someone more familiar with the area might be able to suggest a restaurant with the same quality and quantity of food and excellent service for a lesser cost, but we were pleased.

MY REVIEW: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SHRIMP PO' BOY, BUT MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR SOME OF THEIR SPECIAL HORSERADISH SAUCE. MORE THAN ENOUGH TO FILL A BIG APPETITE, AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS VERY CASUAL. (HOWEVER, I HAVE SEEN A FEW TUXEDOS AND FORMALS IN THERE ENJOYING A GREAT DINNER) I WOULD CALL BOTH CASEY'S AND GAIDO'S A RELAXED FORMAL DINING EXPERIENCE
