MY REVIEW: The only Ruchi's I have patronized is this location. Its only appeal is it being only a block from where I live. I have had a lot of the menu over the years, yet only a couple of items were worth repeating, none of them being a main entree. I love taquerias and dine in one at least once a week. After today, I still will, it just won't be Ruchi's. A continuous problem is that there may only be one or two staff at any given time who speak English (if you don't speak Spanish). Tonight I ordered a couple of chicken tostadas, specifically the regular and NOT the fajita chicken. I am about a third of the way through with one and figured I got the fajita chicken. About halfway through, I had doubts about even that. The waitress could not converse and went and got the woman running the register. Seems I got the pechuga, whatever that is. I told her what I ordered and she said she would take care of it. Very quickly, they brought be a single tostada, just the kind I ordered. When I asked for my other one, the woman told me all I was getting was one because I ate the other. I guess that will teach me.

MY REVIEW: Had driven by this location several times and today had lunch. The chips and salsas were kind of tasteless. I had tostada and a taco. Both were ok. They apparently heavily marinate/spice their meat and cook to a crisp state. It has pleasant but different taste but the overcooking makes the pork taste like the beef. Service was prompt and very good. Inside is kind of plain. This may be very close to real Mexican cantina food but I think I would go to Taco B*ell or Taco C*abana. Very small parking lot.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I just moved to a new apartment near Ruchi's a week ago and visited Ruchi's upon reccomendation from some friends of ours. In the last 4 days we have eaten there 3 times now. The food is excellent and the prices are unbelievably low. We at first tried the beef fajita tacos but have now moved on the the huge burritos that you can easily make 3 meals off of as I did today. If in the area I would definatley recommend anyone try Ruchi's at least once. Can't beat the fact that they are also open 24 hours for you late nighters and early birds like we are.

MY REVIEW: Ruchi's is a staple for our family at all hours of the day. The prices are SOOOO low, portions large, and the quality of the food high if, as another reviewer suggested, you stick to the cheap stuff. This is not a place to order the quail, for example. But the fresh squeezed orange juice (about $2) is delicious. I almost always get chorizo and eggs, my son almost always gets some enormous burrito, and my husband almost always gets a chicken tostada - made with fresh, shredded chicken. The chips are thick. The pickled vegetables vary in heat, depending on how long they have been pickling. Sauces tend to be quite hot. Coffee is only fair, but come to think of it, I don't know of a Mexican restaurant that does serve good coffee.

MY REVIEW: Their grub tastes nice. The burritos and tortas are the best that I have had. Salsa will burn your ass if your are not careful. It's hot.
Most all of the dishes are great. Avoid shrimp or any other high end meat. They do best with the cheap stuff. Puerco is the bomb.
Be sure to have the pork tacos with cilantro, pineapple, onion and lime. Awesome.

MY REVIEW: We (my friends and I) love this place! The price is great and they are not skimpy with their food like some places where you pay twice as much. Totally awsome - it just doesn't get much better than this. Try it, we promise you'll love it.

MY REVIEW: We've been hitting all the late night spots recently. This was a very decent find, on our way home from B*renda's last night.
We both ordered the chicken enchilada plates. Big chunks of seasoned breast meat. Lumpy refried beans, the way we like it and flavorful rice. This place is a hands-down winner compared with B*renda's. Very clean and bright. Friendly service.
Two mild complaints, we were the only ones in the place not served carrots and jalapenos. :( T chips were hot and fresh, made in clean grease; but the basket was not re-filled.
A spoonful of pico de gallo on the plate had a very intense bite to it. And a nicely made "rose" out of a tomato peel adorned the plate. It's cheaper than B*renda's up the street and has a much higher quality of food.
We'll be back.

MY REVIEW: A pleasant surprise. A Tex-Mex Treasure. The atmosphere will have you believing you stopped in a cantina in Mexico. The creamy green sauce and chips will kick your butt! Ruchi's offers a huge variety of dishes, but this time I had the Fajitas Al Carbon. The marinade was exceptional. It was served with creamy refried beans, and fluffy rice. I was also given a side salad with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and advocado. Very filling and friendly on the wallet. Everything was pretty much homemade except for the tortillas and chips. Authentic Mexican candies and treats can be found at the cash register. I give this one an A-. I will be back!

MY REVIEW: My family eats here all the time. The atmosphere is enjoyable, the waitresses are really sweet and the food is excellent. We took my mother from out of town(who is very difficuly to please) late one night. She is still going on about how good the food was and how nice the service was. That was 3 months ago. Try the Camarones a la Plancha. Nicely served still sizzling with huge shrimp. Great place for late night eats or anytime.

MY REVIEW: Wonderful place to go for Mexican food that is not fancy. Wait staff usually does not speak much English, but have never had a problem with anything we have ordered. I love sitting in this restaurant looking at Williams Tower and having real Mexican food. The jukebox only plays Latino music. Great! Prices are incredibly reasonable. Sunday morning tacos to go. Everything from the regular chicken, beef, pork, ham, to brains and tongue. The piece de resistance is a creamy green sauce that will knock your socks off. Give me a spoon! I always take a container home to put on scrambled eggs and of course to scoop up with chips. (I think the secret ingredient in this salsa is coconut milk. Open 24 hours. Just took a friend from the Marshall Islands over at 10:30am for a Mexican food fix. She loved it.

MY REVIEW: Hours: Open 24 Hours
Brief Description: This group of taquerias serves up standard, generic, Mexican food. The location I tried was the Richmond at Kirby location, right across the street from Pappasito's and Ninfa's. Prices are very reasonable and the menu features grilled dishes, seafood, tacos, burritos, and more. I had a Milanesa torta for $3.50 which was pretty good.
