MY REVIEW: Seafood is great and as a senior I appreciate the lunch menu being available to me all day. The real appreciation is that the seafood does not taste like it was frozen with the breading on like some seafood chains do. I am not a fried food fan but the fried shrimp at Babin's is my favorite - light breading and not at all greasy. Service is always attentive, but not overly so, which is good when you are having a conversation with someone and don't have a waiter constantly interrupting you! In fact I became a Landry's Club member because of the Willowbrook Babin's.

MY REVIEW: Being from New Orleans, we are picky and very cautious about "cajun" seafood restaurant, as most are horrible. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food we were served. The food was awesome, crawfish were cooked perfectly, creamy "New Orleans" style red beans and rice. The service was GREAT, our waiter was from my husband's hometown. He was couteous, attentive, and very quick to ask us if we needed anything. Our drinks were never empty. His knowledge of the foods both on speacial and on the menu was fabulous. I will definitely return, for some of the best food outside of Lousianna, the next time I am in Houston. Would love to see Babin's in Dallas.

MY REVIEW: Perhaps we visited on an a day when the "regular" Chef was not in the kitchen, so that may explain the worst fried seafood platter we have gotten at any restaurant in Houston. Or Louisiana for that matter. Everything on the platter, including the fries, were limp & soggy. It was like the food items had been pre-cooked & left sitting in a serving pan waiting for an order to come in, which may be why our entrees arrived within minutes of our salad being served. And whoever is preparing the stuffing for the stuffed shrimp & crab, would do well to visit P*appadeaux's or G*oode's Seafood, & taste a great seafood stuffing. This stuff was nothing more than soggy bread & was basically taseless.

Our non-friend entrees were OK to good, but no more friend seafood from Babin's. The Caesar salads were good, but 2 or 3 different servers must have put salad dressing on the Greek salads, since they were literally floating in salad dressing. It was so heavy that we could dip it off with a spoon. Good flavor, just so heavy on the dressing that there had to have been a preparation mistake. The replacement salads were fine.

On a 1-10 the place gets a 0 for the seafood platter, but a 7 for the other entrees. In view of all the good reviews our visit at 5:00PM must have been during a shift change, or before the regular kitchen crew arrived. There has to be some valid explanation for the inferior food we were served.

MY REVIEW: My first visit a year or so ago was rather neutral so it took me awhile to go back. That said, it has become a once-a-week staple for our household and has held up as such for several months. I think I just needed to figure out what dishes I like.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the grilled stuffed shrimp. That's my favorite. Sometimes when I'm in the mood for variety I'll get the Big Easy Shrimp Platter (which comes with stuffed shrimp, fried shrimp, jalapeno popper shrimp and embrochettes), or the blackened atchafalaya catfish. All are spectacular. I love their creole vegetable side (greenbeans, tomatoes, onions - not too greasy) and the dirty rice is pretty good. (I prefer P-a-ppa-youknowwho's dirty rice though). The bread pudding is gigantic, covered with meringue and quite good though different than I'm used to.

The servers have always been friendly and attentive, and we've come both during peak and offpeak hours. Other locations may vary, I can't vouch for those but I am very happy with the Katy location.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I absolutely love the golden tile stuffed with crab with a butter sauce covered in capers. Talk about heaven in your mouth.

MY REVIEW: This place is GREAT! Anybody that has something bad to say about the seafood here is nuts! Being from Louisiana I have an appreciation for when I come across good seafood in Houston because it has always been few and far between.

When my wife and I get a craving for seafood that can't wait until we visit Louisiana, Babin's is the place we go to. We can't go as often as we like. Their prices are about the same as any other seafood restaurant in Houston, unfortunately. They are however well worth it! If you like seafood this is the place to go! I don't know what any of these other folks are talking about. They must have Houston tastebuds not Louisiana tastebuds!

MY REVIEW: One visit was enough. Everything was coated with a cajun seasoning and the seafood tasted previously frozen. It is a Landry's restaurant and that is enough for me and synonymous with overpriced, previously frozen. The service is good. Only wish the food lived up to the service.

MY REVIEW: OK food. Lousy service. It was not busy tonight. Waited a long time to get tea and soda. Waited longer to get salads. Waited even longer to get the food. Food was just OK. Better at that Lobster place and the service is WAY better. Horrible smell by the bar as you enter and leave.

I will not be back. There are other places with better prices and much better service.

MY REVIEW: I have nothing bad to say about my experience. Today was my birthday, celebrated with my wife and daughter. I had the Pasta Di Mare, and was very please with the selection, service and complimentary key lime pie.

MY REVIEW: Its been awhile since we have been to this old favorite. Ridiculous price increase on several items prevented me from ordering my old favorite, the five Crab Cake Dinner; a 25% price increase since our last visit (even if its been a while 25% is unacceptable - other items didn't increase that much). Interestingly there was NO wait at 6:15 on a Friday evening.

Service was very good this visit and all in all the food was good. Our party of six shared the Cajun Sampler appetizer and we all enjoyed it a lot - a good value appetizer-wise. The Babin's Mixed Grill was fair-good; good for the most part but the crab cake was not as good as before and the scallops were just ok. The Fried Seafood Platter was good, and the Big Easy Shrimp Platter was very good. These latter two dishes are a better value than the Babin's Mixed Grill in my opinion.

Overall a good experience, we'll continue going for now but will keep an eye on prices.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I absolutely love this place. When we want oysters this is the only place we go in Houston. Always fresh and tasty. The Cue de gras (spelling?) is to die for. It is a sample of all their baked oysters. Its not on the menu, you have to ask for it. The seafood augratin is the best. It is so loaded with seafood you get loads in every bite. Another of our favorites is the golden tile fish. We have never had a dish that we did not enjoy, however we have our favorites, which we have listed.

The wait staff and managers are alway friendly. We were there last night and when we walked in the door the bar tender Roozani set our drinks on the bar. He always remembers us and what we drink. He and Cris (the other bar tender last night) have waited on us in the resturant and the bar quite a few times and have always given us excellant service.

The manager , Mike. came by to make sure we were enjoying everything and was very friendly. Can't wait to go back.

They make you feel at home with the best seafood in this area.

MY REVIEW: I don't understand the negative reviews. I had the best anniversary dinner ever. I ordered the bloody mary, best ever and the blackened golden tile (I think that's what it's called) with the Babin's topping and loaded baked potato, excellent, excellent, excellent and finished with a New orleans coffee that consisted of coffee, praline liquor and Bailey's,and whipped creme - excellent! We sat outside, perfect setting. If I could afford, it I would go back every week!

MY REVIEW: We love the service by Trevor and the food but the $9 price for an Absolute Vodka martini is just a joke. At that price I will stay home and buy two 1.75 liter bottles. Tried to send my comments to their website but that didn't work so i guess they really don't want feedback.

MY REVIEW: My friend and I are hooked on this place. I have yet to be disappointed any time no matter time of day that I go. I have been for dinner and lunch and always have great service and food. My friend and I are from New Orleans so we are very critical when it comes to seafood from other places. I have had the crawfish enchiladas and wild atchafalya blackened fish and fried seafood platter. Always good. All desserts are great. All hurricanes have been wonderful. I recommended to a friend and he and his grandma went to the Willowbrook location and thought it was terrible. I don't know. I think the locations have a difference in food quality and in who prepares the foods.
