She stated when we got there that they were going to close early so i guess that was her way of making us leave. the other waitress kept walking back and forth and ignoring our gestures for service. Ill try again, mabye this was an isolated incident, but I hate it when a good restaurant is ruined by poor waitstaff. Very frustrating. We usually get the chicken poppers, pizza, calzones or ceviche. Wide selection of beer, very friendly bartenders. CONS: Waitstaff is slow and not very attentive. Wine selection is poor, best to stick with beer. Gets very, very busy on the weekends. Much better to go evenings during the week. MY REVIEW: Go on Thursday for the awesome shrimp and crab legs (for only $9.99!), but go early or you'll have to wait. As others have noted, the steak is also one hell of a deal (served only on Mondays). The spinach salad is excellent, and a bargain for $3. And of course plenty of beers. Boondoggle's is very kid friendly, you'll see plenty of families seated at the picnic tables outside. The pizzas are great, and you have steak night on Mondays and crab/ crawfish night on Thursdays. During the summer months they are so busy on Thursdays you might have a long wait for a table, but it is definitely worth it. MY REVIEW: Really cool place to go hang out & have a few beer & food. I really liked the atmosphere (very "pub-ish) & the night we went you could get a free mug/glass if you ordered the "beer of the day" (the mug has the beer's logo on it). Our home inspector recommended it, but didn't give great directions & it took us a while to find...there aren't exactly neon signs screaming "here we are", but that almost added to the ambiance). Next time friends are in town & we have a baby sitter we'll stop by for some grub & brew. I wouldn't think it was kid friendly (my young'un is only 18 months), but the table next to us had a large party with several kids & everyone seemed content. I'll be back! We always sit outside on the deck at the picnic tables. Yes, it does overlook the parking lot, but you can still see the boats going by on the water. Boondoggles has an amazing beer selection: all kinds of microbrews and imported ales, beer, lagers, and hard cider. The food is very tasty too. They have the usual bar food staples like chicken wings, burgers and potato skins, but they also have brick oven pizza, pasta, seafood and some creative sandwiches. My husband and I usually go there on Sunday nights for the fish 'n' chips/fish 'n' shrimp special. Last time I went, I tried the Kriswich, a sandwich served on French bread with avocado, andouille sausage, lettuce and tomato. It was quite tasty, although there was a little too much bread. The desserts are tasty too! We passed around a slice of chocolate cheesecake that was delicious! Staff is very friendly and efficient, but if you choose to sit outside you may have to go in and get their attention because they don't come out there that often. A real mellow atmosphere that people can enjoy. This place is especially packed during Fridays and Saturdays. I highly recommend going during the week, as a place to meet after work. This pub seems to have a more mature crowd……you don’t have to deal with all the kids that go to S*herlocks. I recommend a pizza called the Rubusto!
