MY REVIEW: This place is just out of this world! I cannot get enough of everything on their menu. If I don't know what it is or can't pronounce it, there is always someone there helping me out. They even recommend what to drink with your selection! Now that's what I call service. My fav is Chicken Vermacilli. It come with a huge grilled breast of chicken on a bed of firm vermacilli w/lettuce, cilantro, cucumber slices(pickled), and other veggies and fish sauce. Their cold summer rolls are also wonderful, always fresh and crisp. When you are at Hoo*ters getting your drink on, look over to Hot Wok for your meal. Trust me, you will get a whole lot of food for your money, but no hoo*ters exposed! Ha Ha

MY REVIEW: Discovered this place by accident when a nearby Mongolian Barbecue was closed. I've never been back to the other place, and I eat here at least once a week. Extremely clean, very friendly staff, wonderful management.

They will prepare your meal exacly as you request. Never any MSG. The veggies are so fresh that you may have to slap 'em on occasion! Top quality meat & shrimp.

Create-your-own stir-fry is wonderful: over 2 dozen veggies to choose from and aboout 12 sauces. Cold summer rolls are wonderful, fresh & crsp. Try the fabulous Pho Bowl soup. And the kabayaki beef plate is wonderful...filet mignon on skewers!

Haven't found anyplace better for Chinese / Vietnamese cuisine...and the prices are also very reasonable.

MY REVIEW: First time to visit in several years. The create your own stir-fry is awesome. You get a TON of food. You can have a meat, rice, noodles, and ton of veggies/fruits you pick. Lots of choices. They add lots of meat and don't skimp on it either. For $9.99 with meat it's a bargain as two adults can easily split it. Highly recommended for portion, price, and flavor. All very fresh, and very, very good.

Kids go lo mein. It's definitely an adult portion. Fortunately we only got one for them to split and ordered each a wonton soup.

Service was very good - waitress was very attentive. All waiters seemed very attentive to their customers.

But most of their meals don't come with soup, so it's extra. And drinks are a bit pricy. Knowing how good it is now and we can easily split it -- without either of us going hungry -- it should be a lot cheaper.

We will be back. Soon.

MY REVIEW: this is an Asian Stir Fry and Sushi restaurant that has Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai cooking that is superb in both quality and quantity. It also has a pick your own stir fry where you pick your veggies and sauce and take it to the cooks. You can eat all veggies or add meat choice -- then watch them cook it for you.

MY REVIEW: I have gone to the Hot Wok several dozen times over several years. The food is very good (great fried rice) and it is a clean restaurant.

My biggest problem is the poor service. The last 2 times we had a short asian waitress who was more interested in talking with the other staff members than serving tables. First time it happened, I left no tip. The most recent time she brought us our menus, then disappeared (to talk with the other waitstaff) for about 10 minutes. Considering there were less than 15 customers in the restaurant, I thought this was very inappropiate. We finally decided to leave without ordering. We also made the manager aware of the situation, but he did not seem too concerned. Guess I'll have to get the food to go. :(

Bottom line is that there are many restaurant choices in Houston. If the waitstaff cannot be attentive, then take your business elsewhere.

Exceptional service and very, very friendly staff.. Definitely put them on my "return to" list...

MY REVIEW: ***HOT WOK IS EXCELLENT!!!***

Stumbling into this restaurant was one of the great pleasures of this weekend. First, parking was plentiful and it was convenient to our holiday shopping at Garden Ridge, etc., (great place to walk off the substantial portions.) Having our toddler with us, we were hesitant at first...the ambiance is clean, crisp, and seemed rather 'adult' in taste and feel...and considered taking him next door to L*uther's BBQ. We were immediately put at ease by the young host. He was friendly, conscientious, and immediately concerned with our toddler's needs. We were led to a corner booth, which we preferred, were brought a high chair and had our drink orders within minutes. There was no wait, at any time. For children, they bring to the table a little take-out box filled with crayons and a child's menu covered with games and puzzles. Upon bringing our drink order, our son was brought a child's cup of water. The wait staff, whether our server, the bus staff, or our host, were consistent and complimentary in excellence. We felt like honored guests. Danny, our server, is a treasure...one of the best in Houston.

The menu is well-appointed and varied...Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Laotian...all of our faves were seen. My partner ordered the Hunan Beef with Hot and Sour soup while I ordered the Mu Shu Pork and egg drop soup. The soups each tasted very freshly made and delicious. My meal was very well-prepared and tasty. The Hunan beef was strong on shitake mushrooms and ginger, which my partner loved. Our appetizer was the Old Timer sampler of egg roll, cream cheese won ton, and bbq spare ribs. The egg roll was average, but the won tons were to die for, and the spare ribs melted in your mouth after falling off the bone.

We were offered and accepted a complimentary bowl of fried rice for the kid. At all times the service was prompt and fastidious without being smothering or hovering. We did not have dessert or coffee. We felt like we had dined for a long, enjoyable evening but found upon our departure that we had actually only been there just under an hour. That is how wonderfully at ease the atmosphere was and how relaxed we felt during our meal. We can't wait to head back for Pad Thai and sushi...

BTW, we stopped on our way out and thanked the manager for the evening and to compliment our waiter. The gentleman could not have been more gracious. *****Highly recommended.

MY REVIEW: hot-wok is an average restaurant due to the behaivor of one of their managers.

the last time I was there I ordered the "SHRIMP A LA HOT-WOK" and I don't get any snow peas unless I pay $2.00 extra dollars.

also I called 30 minutes before to order the "brown rice" as the manager requested and the time I get there there was no brown rice ready for me so I have to wait for 30 minutes to get it .

My server refused to give me his name so that way the manager will not get any complaints about it .

MY REVIEW: This is a great place to eat anytime you have a chance. The "Big & Crazy Sampler" is really good and lets you try different items the restaurant has to offer. There is this one guy that works there named Wonshan or something like that, he is the best waiter ever. Also, there is an awesome chef named An, he is very creative and a great cook. He should be on television show Iron Chef. I love the create your own stir fry feature. Also try the Pad Thai, sesame chicken, general tso's chicken, pho bowl, and beef lettuce wrap. Basically you will not go wrong with anything on the menu.

MY REVIEW: I love this restaurant. It is a mix of at least Thai and Chinese food. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and experienced and by the quality of the food, so are the cooks. I recently had the General Tso's Chicken with fried rice. It was very good, and white rice is always available apon request. Make your own stir fry is a very nice feature, for you get to pick out whatever you you from a stir fry selection bar and then watch the cooks cook it!
