MY REVIEW: This place is unassuming and we never would have found this hidden gem except St Arnold had a scavenger clue here. They have a good beer selection and the food is uncomplicated and yummy. We live downtown and like to hit this place up and have the patio all to ourselves on a Sat afternoon.

MY REVIEW: We live downtown and it is a wonderful place to have luch or dinner. Both Maggie and Neil treat you as family. Great place to watch a game and you will feel that you are in a SOHO NYC corner bar/grill with wonderful wine and food prices.

MY REVIEW: Next to the more popular and well-known T*reebeards in Market Square, the Market Square Bar & Grill is a treasure downtown that is often overlooked. The bar has a nice courtyard in the back and is very laid back, a great place to spend lunch, especially during the spring and fall. Prices are very reasonable, considering it's downtown and the food quality and portions are excellent.
Our normal favorites are the Turker Burger. I have never tasted one as good as here. Anywhere. Ever. And never even liked them before I had one here. Add swiss cheese and/or guacamole and yum.
Other wonderful favorites are the philly cheesesteak and the Pete's Philly (with fresh jalapenos and bleu cheese) for a nice twist. Their burgers are wonderful. Excellent quesadillas (on the list as an appitizer, but more than enough for a full meal!) and club sandwich. All come with a side, and you can choose from several (fries, fruit, roasted potatos, potato salad, and others).
Many people say the salads are excellent. I am sure they are. But I simply can't get there when I can get the turkey burger, burger, or cheesesteak.
A quieter location where you can actually talk at lunch and be heard, and a great value for the money.

MY REVIEW: I'm from Philly and always on the lookout for a good Philly cheesesteak here in Houston. The Market Square Bar has the best of any that I've tasted here. They're very good. The bar has a nice courtyard in the back and is very laid back, a great place to spend a couple hours after work or on a Saturday evening. The drinks are well made and I'm especially partial to their Manhattans, made with Maker's Mark Bourbon. Nice!!! Be sure to visit this downtown bar soon.

MY REVIEW: Been there for lunch mostly and at least 10-15 times, dinner a couple times, and drinks only a couple times.
Mushroom Swiss Burger and the Special Philly w/ Japs and Bluecheese are my picks...a friend got the tilapia the other day and was suprised how high the quality was for such a laid back place. I highly recommend this spot...the patio is the stuff of choice.

MY REVIEW: This is the neighborhood bar of downtown Houston. Great food from "burgers and a beer" to a Tuna plate that'll make you want to smack your mama. Great atmosphere and the best Martini downtown. A Chicago style bar and grill with southwest flavor. Patio is the best downtown. Start here!

MY REVIEW: My favorite place downtown. Wonderful ambience, old building with a courtyard, extremely high ceilings, and beautiful woodwork, all of which pale in comparison to the blue cheese burger. Good honest food and drink.

MY REVIEW: This place is excellent and a great spot for getting a group together for Happy Hour. It is located next to Warren's Inn on Market Square. I definitely recommend the cheeseburgers or chicken sandwhich. Prices are very reasonable and during nice weather, you can sit on the back patio. Great place to start a night on the town since most of the nightlife is in that part of downtown.
