MY REVIEW: Great food! The fish and chips were amazing, perfectly fried and piping hot. They came with a pile of fried batter pieces which were great. Also had the mardi gras pasta, which my boyfriend said tasted good. Portion sizes were more than generous, plenty to take home. The server was very nice, attentive without being stifling or making us feel rushed. They had a few beers on tap, unfortunately the really interesting ones were out. I shall be back!

MY REVIEW: Amazing dining experience. Friendly and smiling hostess greeted us warmly and introduced us to our waitress who led us to a prime table with a gulf view. Our waitress was knowledge and helpful throughout the ordering process and stopped by our table frequently during the meal to inquire about our needs. Our food arrived piping hot. The blackened catfish suffed with etoufee -- out of this world delicious !!!

MY REVIEW: Can't begin to tell you how much we enjoyed Fishtales. It was a spur of the moment decision after spending the afternoon at the local I*MAX. Our family ordered a variety of dishes including samplers of fried and broiled seafood, appetizers, extra crab legs, and dessert. We were so pleased with the quality of food and service that we now mention this place to anybody looking for a great dining experience on Galveston Island. We will definitely be going back repeatedly!

MY REVIEW: This was our first visit. We were extremely satisified. We went for lunch. I thought it was a bit pricey, especially for lunch, but good seafood seems to be pricey anywhere you go. I had the fresh Atlantic Salmon and my husband had a combo shrimp platter. It was excellent. He said his platter was "bursting with flavor". It was a slightly overcast day and we sat out on the deck overlooking the ocean and it was just beautiful. We were seated promptly and our waiter was very attentive. We would go there again.

MY REVIEW: Like the other reviewers, had a great meal here. The clam chowder is as good as any you will get. Excellent entrees and service. Also had a wonderful flourless choclate cake for desert - recommend that you split such.

MY REVIEW: We really enjoy sitting on the deck and watching the ocean and people. Unfortunately, the last two time we went the deck was close due to mosquitos. Not their fault I guess. The food is always good, and the service has been acceptable. The high point is the view if you can go when the deck is open.

MY REVIEW: First time to visit here... I ordered the Shrimp PoBoy and it was fantastic. The shrimp were piled high and so delicious. Best one I've ever had.
The only thing I didn't like was the strange sweet smell of the restaurant. I think it's because they have an ice cream counter. The sweet smell of waffle cones/Blue Bell ice cream just didn't go with the smell of cooking seafood. Next time, I'll be sure to get a table outside. Better view of the gulf anyway.

MY REVIEW: Been going here for a couple years now. Havn't gotten anythng but great food and service. There appetizers are great especially the seafood stuffed jalapenos we go there sometimes just for them. Also the appetizer sampler platter is huge me and the wife just get that sometimes and split it as a meal. This place is great. The seafood is fresh not frozen. and the prices are average.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I spent the weekend in Galveston. We were due some much needed rest and relaxation. While walking along the seawall, I text-paged a good friend and asked him to recommend a restaurant that we should check out. He text paged me back a little while later and told us that he and his wife liked Fish Tales on the Seawall at 25th St. So, off we went.
The restaurant is conveniently located on the Seawall directly across from the monumental Flagship Hotel. Parking seemed cramped; however there were plenty of parking spaces available.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was impressive. Decor gives you the feeling that you are eating in one of the best seafood restaurants on the island. As soon as you arrive, you are greeted by the staff. A couple of sample plates are displayed nearby so that you can get a visual on the size and quality of the specials for the day. To your left, you will find an ice cream bar complete with Blue Bell ice cream, Icees, and other delicious treats.
We gave our name and we were told the wait was 1.5 hours. We decided to wait it out and 40 minutes later, we were escorted to our table.
Service was slow at first but once our waiter learned that we were seated, he waited on us hand and foot. He rated high on providing personal attention. He was familiar with the menu and gave suggestions based on his own preference.
I ordered a broiled seafood platter and my wife ordered a seafood salad. The turnaround time was quick and the platters were huge. Temperature of the food was perfect. Taste left a lot to be desired. It wasn't that the food tasted bad. It just didn't taste good. It really didn't taste at all. There was one stuffed shrimp that was spicy but other than that, the entire platter was bland. My wife enjoyed her salad but told me also that it was nothing to write home about.
For the service, ambiance, and turnaround (considering there was a baseball game), I give the restaurant top scores.
Our total bill (no appetizers, 2 sodas, meal only) was about $45.00. The price is reasonable for this type of restaurant with meals ranging from $15.00 and up.
The food was fresh; yet, tasteless. I don't mind paying so much for a plate but I am disappointed that I paid so much for something that tasted so bland.
Will I return, probably not.

MY REVIEW: The strong points of this resturant is the location. Who wouldn't want to sit on the seawall with a cold drink and some great seafood. However on my visit both the food and the service was poor.
The bartender that served us while we were waiting for our table was rude and disinterested. If you don't want to recite what is in your specialty drinks list what is in it ON THE DRINK MENU!
The food was ok at best. Our appetizer was cold and flavorless. We asked that it be taken off of our bill. Our entree came exactly three mins after our appetizer so even if we were enjoying it we would have had to stop eatting. Our entrees were also cold and we could tell that they were not made to order.
Service was unattentive. We had to ask for silverware twice and extra sauces twice and by the time both came our meal not edible.
Bottomline:Fishtales caters to the tourist or the Red L*obster crowd who just want to eat a meal and don't want to dine. Either way, we will not be returning.

MY REVIEW: Just drivin' down the Seawall and decided to pull off. Glad we did! Great view from the second story balcony overlooking the ocean and the Flagship Hotel. Staff was great and prompt, but did not try to "turn tables" and push you along. They let us sit up there soakin' in the fresh air. My partner had the coconut shrimp with a plum ginger sauce and he said it was awesome. I had a good ol' oyster po-boy and thought it was divine. The strawberry margaritas were super with a nice plump strawberry as the garnish. A MUST EAT!

MY REVIEW: This is our favorite restaurant in Galveston. We had the best stuffed fish I have ever eaten this past weekend. It was the Blackened Stuffed Catfish topped with Etoufee. It came with rice and mixed vegetables. It was sooooo good I could have eaten another plate of it. We also enjoy the Coconut Fried Shrimp with a very good sauce, Stuffed Fried Jalepenos on the appetizers they are very big and could be a meal for 1 person. I highly recommend this restaurant. We always eat out on the balcony that overlooks the Gulf of Mexico. Will be back for many more great meals!!!

MY REVIEW: While visiting Galveston,we ate here. There is a balcony on the top floor of the restaurant whre you can see The Flagship Hotel and the beach. The food was excellent! The whole family enjoyed it. Our waiter even gave us a free slice of chocolate cheesecake. I reccomend that you go for a late lunch at 3:00. To those who are going to Galveston soon and want to eat somewhere great, what are you waiting for go, go , GO!!!!
