MY REVIEW: Most of the food was good. Did not like the shreaded beef on the tacos. There was a lot but it was tough. Cashier was dumb. She had to ask twice and it was not due to the noise because at that time it was not too busy and fairly quite. Being new to this business I assumed there were glasses at the condiment bar. Wrong...I had order water and the cashier was suppose to give me a glass, she did not. Had to wait while the not-so-happy kitchen help got me a glass. After sitting down to begin eating I was trying to figure out how to get chips. Others had chips. I ask one bus person but she did not understand english. Ask another bus person and I was told I had to get them from the cashier. The cashier did not even ask if I wanted chips. When I returned to the cashier, who now had a line with about 10 people, I was told I would have to go back through the line. You would think a restaurant would either serve chips at the table or have the cashier ask if you wanted chips when you order. And don't forget the water glass thing. This restaurant seems to be very unorganized. Have they forgotten about customer satisfaction? Or do they care?

MY REVIEW: The food was good - but everything else bordered on awful.

Service was rude to indifferent. Everyone seemed overstressed.

Chips were served late with thicker nacho-chips substituted for regular chips. No apology there.

The main dining area was ice-cold, the other was jam-packed. Neither was particularly clean.

Order call-ups were being blasted at full-volume through both dining areas while the Saturday night hooligans raced their motorcycles around the parking lot.

The whole atmosphere felt like eating in a bus terminal.

Maybe I would have had a better review if my order was to go; but I wouldn't have gone if I wanted take out.

MY REVIEW: We used to go there very often. Food is grate, but lately portions are getting smaller and smaller, and price is getting bigger and bigger. Now they are adding inflation surcharge 7.5% on top of your bill.

MY REVIEW: We used to go to Chacho's all the time, however, I agree with some of the other reviewers. Chacho's does seem a great deal dirtier than previously (never a squeaky-clean spot). The portions also seem smaller. We were surprised to see a 7.5% inflation surcharge added to our bill after we had ordered. This surcharge wasn't advertised with a sign up front, and we were not informed of this charge by the cashier when making our order. This begs some other questions, but, needless to say, we probably won't be returning any time soon.

MY REVIEW: I went once before a couple of years ago and Chachos was o.k. This time though, the whole place felt "dirty" and the "service" was poor. The food was ok. There are too many good Mexican restaurants to waste your time and money here.

Watch out for the 7 1/2% inflation surcharge on your bill.

MY REVIEW: Lived here for 40 years - simply the best casual Tex-Mex in Houston - bar none. The ingredients are fresh and plentiful, and the preparation and flavors are extremely authentic. The breakfast is just as good as the lunch and dinner. If you haven't been to this place, don't let a week go by without trying it - really.

MY REVIEW: Likes: Chacho’s food and margaritas are “DELICIOSO”! Their cooking is very close if not authentic.

Dislikes: dirty, dirty, dirty... the place is old. Definitely needs some structural remodeling. Although, the car crashing through their front dinner forced for some reconstruction, they still need to work on the rest of the building.

MY REVIEW: Wow, my husband and I were out running errands on Saturday as we were getting hungry we stunbles across Chacos, never have heard of it we thought we would give it a try, we love Mexican food and it looked busy....

Strong points: 1. We loved the outside sitting area, nice and big, 2. Friendly fast service, even though they were busy, 3. We saw someone walk by with the King Kong nachos, we were sold, the queso that is served with the nachos is the BEST. 4. I had the grilled fish tacos, by far the best that I have had since being in Houston (we moved from Dallas in Aug) and I try them everytime they are on a menu. 5. My husband had the steak house tacos and thought the were great.

Weak points: Soft drinks are not free on refills

We will definantly be back more than once.....I think we will get the Nachos with just the queso next time, the King Kong ones are a little hard to eat and the queso is just too good not to be slathered all over the chips.

MY REVIEW: Chacho's has some very good food at some very reasonable prices. Its especially great when you get a late night craving, since they are open 24 hours.

My favorite item is the Spicy Pork Tacos - it is served on a corn tortilla, and the spicy pork is balanced with a slice of pineapple in the taco! Its great! I also like the burritos - they're huge, and a half order is usually enough for me! The breakfast menu items are also fantastic. They have a website where you can check out their menu online, but beware, that some of the prices have changed slightly (but its still very affordable).

The only drawback is the slightly dingy feel and unspectacular restrooms, if you decide to eat in. The drive-thru is usually quite efficient, and first-timers do not realize that there are two drive-thru lanes, they tend to line up behind each other in the left one - theres another one on the right also!

MY REVIEW: I am from Houston, but my wife and I live in Philly right now. I was introduced to Chachos while visiting Houston during a semester break from school. Since that initial introduction, we MUST return to Chachos every time we are in Houston. The nachos are THE BEST! What you do is get the large size plate of bean and cheese nachos with queso cheese. ONLY QUESO! You may have to come back multiple times because IT IS INCREDIBLE (and I think the plate gets smaller every time I visit). I personally don't like the King Kong nachos because they throw that shredded cheese on there. I am a Queso Only kinda guy.

100 out of 10 stars!

MY REVIEW: This is a great place to eat. I love to eat their fish tacos and their chips and green avacado salsa. I recently just went, I was disappointed because I finally tried their chorizo and egg taco, and I have to say, I had better. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone, just not their choirzo tacos.

MY REVIEW: THE BEST FREAKING MARGARITAS on the FACE of this PLANET!!! THE BIGGEST BURRITOS in the WORLD! I've taken EVERYONE I know and they've loved it!!!

I am NOT crazy about the atomsphere or the restrooms though, but I just look the other way... THEY seriously need to upgrade the architecture of this place. OTHERWISE it is the BEST place I KNOW TO get a JUMBO RITA and JUMBO NACHOS [King Kong Nachos].

I'm going this Thursday with some friends after school. SEE YOU THERE!!!

MY REVIEW: The food is good. The food is cheap. But, the service..well...it's bad.

Speaking only of the drive thru...
They always rush me into ordering...telling me my total a half a second after each time I order another item. And they always mess up my order--forgetting something altogether.

MY REVIEW: I go to Chacho's at least once a month as the food is very tasty and flavorful for tex mex food. I generally go to the drive thru and the service is pretty swift! The prices are definitely unbeatable and the portions are generous. The beef fajita burritos are delicious and the dine in menu offers a plate called poquito de todo (a little bit of everything) which consists of rice, beans, tortillas, fajita taco, cheese quesadilla, shredded beef gordita, and enchildada for $7.Chacho's= great food/great value!!

Try the ?tapaqiena? plate it is great. I eat here about 3 times a week. They have the best breakfast enchiladas. They have the best low carb torts.Try a Grande margarita with an extra shot of 1800 and a shot of the fresh sqeezed orange juice. Its alot like club no minor but more room.

MY REVIEW: I've been coming to Chacho's for a very long time-& even though its not super clean-its open late or even 24hrs. now!Not everyone knows my name...but I know they recognize me!! Its perfect for a late night meal-or for when you get out of the club. It does get pretty crowded...but those big fat greasy burritos loaded with all the goodies and xtra guacamole just hits he spot!!!

The atmosphere makes you feel like if your in Cancun somewhere...so for me thats a plus when you wanna be around that scene. I just got back from a caribbean cruise and it was awesome going to chacho's b/c I was so missing Cancun!

So if you haven't been here...go try it out! Take some friends!...but don't say I didn't warn you about the crowds or the dirty plates everywhere!!! lol...

In the end... I love Chachos' & I can't wait to have a late night craving again!!!

6006 Westheimer Rd, Houston, Texas 77057  713.975.9699

MY REVIEW: I had been (past tense) dining at Chacho's for several YEARS. It's the best place in town for low-fat, healthy, as-you-like-it breakfast tacos, and in fact, they'll make them all day long. The chicken breast and egg white taco on corn "dry"--meaning "no oil" was my favorite. The portions are colossal, especially the guacamole, so you get a great deal for your money. The top-shelf margaritas are the best in town. Because of the delicious food and the value I had been willing to overlook the cleanliness of the place. Plates at the condiment bar often had food stuck to them, floors were dirty, and the waitresses ambled around in slow motion behind these carts loaded with bus tubs full of dirty dishes. They weren't shy about parking the carts right next to you as you ate. I worked around these issues by using disposable plastic utensils, eating the tacos on the foil, and ordering food "to go" so they would serve it in styrofoam containers. Two weeks ago, however, as I sat outside and waited for my order, I saw at least a dozen crows and other birds eating off dirty plates ON THE TABLES!! It was disgusting. I'll never go back.
