3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: It should not be called 100% Taquito. If a restaurant like this one should open in Mexico City, I am 100% sure it would be empty. The concept is good, the food is terrible. Tacos la pastor are not even close to a real one, the tortillas should be smaller, more resistant and slightly crunchier. The beef tacos were cold. Sopa de tortilla in a plastic tupper type, terrible, they forgot to include chicharron. Sopes were cold, after the second bite the tortilla would break apart, a sope should be fried tortilla.
Tortilla is a fundamental ingredient in Mexican food (central & south part of Mexico eat corn tortilla, north they eat flour tortilla). The corn tortilla used in 100% Taquito is the worst.
Not going back, the food is not good, the price is very expensive Living in Mexico City for 30 years taught me what a good Taco is.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: The article in December 2006 issue of Te*as Mon*hly exclaimed the virtues of the Taco de Tinga here at 100% Taquito. The fajita beef taco is also very good and I almost prefer it over the Tinga. The taco portions can be small and everything is ordered ala carte. I actually think it is a matter of presentation, as 3 tacos in a small paper dish looks tiny. Expense is realative to what you want. The food each time I have visited has been fresh, hot, and good. I like the Guacamole, the Sopes, the tortas, and naturally - the soft flour tacos. It's real simple, if you want to go to a Taco trailer and pay $5 bucks to eat and stand outside in the elements of Houston, go right ahead. There will be more room for us at 100%!

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: Boy do I hate this place. I have been twice on my own. After hating it once I gave it another chance. I still hated it. Then twice someone else forced me to go. 100% Taquito is the Disneyland of Mexican Food. It's just like Disneyland where you pay too much to be in an artificial environment and pretend you are somewhere else. If you want to eat street Mexican food go to one of the many taco trucks in Houston. This place is just a poor imitation of what they are doing right. Now the food is OK. That's it, just OK. Nothing to bring you back is was just OK. The only thing that keeps them in business in the fact that they have the largest mark-up I have ever seen for this type of food.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: The place has what I call the Fun factor, good. Also very fast service.
This is authentic Mexican food! therefore small tortillas are used, unlike tex-mex which offers a bigger dish, don't get confused.
Weak points; price of items on menu is rather high.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: This restaurant is overrated. The food is nothing special and the prices are overpriced when you think that you can probably get better tasting food and cheaper at a taco stand elsewhere. Just go to a taqueria and you will get a better deal, I understand the concept 100% Taquito is attempting but I don't buy it. I will probably not go back again. Also I noticed that most of the positive review are from non-hispanics. This usually holds true becuase some people do not know what truly "authentic" is.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: the place seemed to have good reviews, but the portions were tiny and the asada had chunks of cartlidge it in. overall i thought it was quite disappointing and not worth the drive or the money. i dont think ill be going back there again in the future.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: My sister-in-law and her husband recommended this restaurant, and we met as a group to eat dinner there. The service was fast and friendly, and we received our order very quickly. My husband and I ordered the black bean sopes, beef fajita tacos, spicy beef tacos and guacamole. Although the tacos was average/good, I agree with other reviewers who observed that the portions were very small and overpriced. (My only criticism with regard to flavor is that the black beans were quite bland.) It is a novel experience to dine in a restaurant designed to resemble a sidewalk taco stand and this certainly contributes to the "fun" factor. Yet, I cannot imagine returning to dine here again.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: This place is way overrated and overpriced. The portions are small and the guacamole is full of tomatoes and cilantro. Where's the avocado. Cha*cho's on Westheimer is a much better deal and huge portions.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: This place is overpriced. Goto a taqueria. They have better food for a lot less. I had the Torta and chips. The prices are already high and then they make you pay for the chips (that really ought to be complimentary). The torta was mediocre.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: This place has really good tacos. It's not so much that they do anything unusual for Mexico, but that they don't soak them in oil like most Tex-Mex places do, and the cut that the carne asada comes from doesn't have much fat or grissle. The chicken mole tacos are also delicious.
The main bad thing about this place is the red salsa. It is horrible, and just barely a step up from ketchup. The green salsa is tolerable, but still not great. The weakness in salsa is a major problem here. You can get better salsa at a grocery store. However, the quality of the rest of the food makes up for this problem overall.
The Tres Leches is ok, but there are much better options for it within walking distance (I can think of two), but you don't go to a taqueria for sweets. You go for tacos, tortas, etc. which this place does excellently in. They are better than anywhere else in Houston that I've tried, and unfortunately it took many runins with greasy Tex-Mex places to get to this one good taqueria in Houston.

WHEN I GOT MY ORDER THE TACOS WERE NOTHING BUT THE PORK'S FAT. WHEN I ASKED IF I COULD GET SOMETHING DIFFERENT THEY SIMPLY SAID NO! I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER AND THERE WAS NO MANAGER AROUND AND THE "COOK" SAID HE WAS THE SUPERVISOR AT THE TIME. tHEY COULD NOT REPLACE TWO MEASLY TACOS. tALK ABOUT CHEAP!!! I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!!!

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: I have just gotten back from a light dinner at 100% Taquito and all I can say is WOW. This place has the best little tacos in the city, bar none. I had an order of three small soft tacos with beef and flour tortillas. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the tortillas were fantastic (appear to be homemade). An order of three is less than $4, and you can get many types of fillings - they are the perfect size for a light dinner you can pick up and take home.
My friend was equally impressed with his sopas, which were topped with cotija cheese (which I love and I wish he had given me just a small bite of). But he said they were delicious.
The service was very friendly. The atmosphere attempts to recreate the "taco stand" experience (which this place started out as, according to the menu). It really is just like ordering from a street vendor in Mexico City and it's so good. I'll be coming back very frequently!

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: True authentic Mexican food, not Tex-Mex. The tortas (mex-sandwiches) are to die for...my favorite is the Torta de Tinga...deliciosa! I also like the fact that they serve bottled Negra Modelo--my favorite Mexican beer, not easy to find in many restaurants. The portions are a little small...so you may order more than once and spend more than you planned to really leave satisfied. But the food is so good I don't mind. There are "hole-in-the-wall" Mexican places that are just as authentic and cheaper, but you have to know where to look and feel confident enough with Spanish to place an order in Spanish. I don't mind this, and I sometimes do---but 100% Taquito is easy to get to and fast, just off 59 near the ex-Compaq Center. Yeah, I liked them better when they were smaller, too, but that's the price of being succesful...the food is just as good and the beer is still ice cold. It's a good way to introduce real Mexican food to fellow gringos who aren't brave enough to visit the more tucked away Mexican places in Houston.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: This place is a rip-off. The food was really good, but very overpriced for what you get. It cost me 10 bucks for 1 margarita and 2 tiny tacos. I know that's not a lot of money, but I can go to a taqueria, drink 2 margaritas, and eat my way into a larger pant size for less money than that. There are far too many cheap Mexican restaurants in this city with food that is just as good to waste time and money going to this one.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: I like this place, but I have to agree that I liked it better small. Not because the food was teribly different but the decor reminded me of home (El Paso/Juarez.) This place is probably the most authenice Mexican food restaurant I have found in Houston. I'm not talking the nasty Tex-Mex that people seem to like around here, but something I could get from a vendor back home. Of course it still is a far cry from home cooking, but it's pretty good for Houston. I do have a complaint about the horchata, though. It is WAY too grainy. It should be smooth, without rice and spice chuncks floating around in it.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: This restaurant was much better when it was a small taco bar. Ever since they enlarged the dining area, the prices increased with the popularity of their concept. The owner needs to look at the prices he is charging for tacos and then review the bottom line to be successful.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: Food is tasty but ridiculously overpriced. If I spend 10 bucks on lunch at almost any other casual restaurant in houston, I'll walk out with a satisfied tummy. At 100% however, I leave still feeling the pangs of hunger. And no, I'm not a glutton. I'm pretty fit but like to eat a meal that is substantial. 100% does not meet that criterium.

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: 100% taquito is absolutly wonderful. The food is great, the tacos and the horchata make you feel like you are back in mexico city, oh yeah, the decoration of the restaurant is really cool. If you try their food once, you'll defenetly go back. The salsa is not that great though, not spicy, but with their quality food they can pull it off. Whenever your up for some authentic mexican food and quick service, 100% taquito is the place to go!

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: I think this is one of the most authentic "mexican food" restaurants in Houston. I enjoy the tacos al pastor and the sopes which taste just like the ones I had as a kid in Mexico. The decor is very clever and the atmosphere is pleasant. The salsas need a little help as they seem to be on the milder side. I don't t hink that everyone enjoys spicy food, but being a "mexican" restaurant, I think people should have a choice of mild or spicy. My comments to the owner... a smile and greeting regulars will get you many happy return customers!

3245 SW Fwy, Houston, Texas 77027 713.665.2900 MY REVIEW: Not Tex Mex, and they make a very strong point about it. You will not find chile con queso here. If you are in the mood for interior Mexican food at a good price, this is the place to go. Not fancey by any means, and you are probably better to take out than eat in. The meat is grilled very nicely, the pork with pineapple (canned, not fresh) is good. Good selection of Jarritos drinks and the horchata is pretty good. They arrogantly advertise as having the best tres leches in town. They are possibly right. Pretty darn good!

We got our food really quick & it was good. Very inexpensive, but order more than you think you need because it wasnt alot of food-of course this is explained on the menu had we looked better. The service was horrendous though! The lady at the counter was a complete witch & so rude that we will probably not go back.
