MY REVIEW: We arrived at ~12:30 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and got a table on the outdoor patio with no waiting, although we got the last table so there was a bit of a wait by the time we left. There is a view of the Elissa sailing ship to your right and you can see the cruise ship pier to your left if there happens to be a ship there. Tons of seagulls and pelicans to watch. Very pleasant atmosphere.
We started with oysters on the half shell & gumbo. The oysters were plump and juicy. The gumbo was tasty and contained plenty of large shrimp, but be prepared for a different recipe. I had not seen big chunks of bell pepper & celery in a gumbo before. Usually they are finely chopped and cooked down in the roux. In this case it looks like the chunky vegetables are added late in the cooking process. To be clear we enjoyed the gumbo. It was not bad, just different. For entrees we had a shrimp poboy and the "ultimate crab cake". The poboy was ok but nothing spectacular. The accompanying fries had an odd flavor as though the cooking oil needed changing. The crab cake, however, was absolutely fabulous. Moist, well-seasoned, and full of crabmeat. I highly recommend this one.
Service was outstanding. Our server was very friendly and kept a close watch on us without hovering. Refills appeared without asking and the timing of food delivery was perfect.
Prices seemed a bit high, but not grossly out of line for a tourist destination.
Bottom line, we will happily go back for more next time we are in Galveston!

MY REVIEW: Decided to eat here on Sunday night after a day out in Galveston. On the whole I have to say we were very disappointed and probably will not return. I can't fault the location and sitting outside at sunset was really nice. However, the food was decidedly average and way over priced. We had a combination of various plates such as tuna, shrimps & crab cakes and the quality felt like what would have been disappointing if we had eaten at a B*ennigans. My tuna was over cooked & rubbery on the outside and rare in the middle. It was like if it had been cooked to fast. The accompanying fries were shocking and I wish I had gone for the rice and veggies instead. We ended up leaving about half our food on each plate. The bread was also really chewy. Paying top prices for a “fine dining” experience therefore hurt much worse. This may be have been a good restaurant once upon a time but it looks past its prime now. The bathrooms were also quite dirty.

MY REVIEW: Fisherman's Wharf in Galveston has never disappointed us, but there shrimp gumbo is what we go for most of all, it's the BEST!!! Overpriced, but we keep going back!! The service is good, they keep our tea glass full and the staff is friendly. The atmosphere is nice as well. I give is it an A overall.
Oh, the food is always hot and the rolls are wonderful.

MY REVIEW: the wait was over an hour and the service was awful. the busboy deserved the tip bc he helped us more than the waiter. never saw our waiter as a matter of fact. he only came to take our order and give us our check. The food was good. The service was so poor that i would have to reconsider coming back... maybe order take out... hmmm... that's a thought

MY REVIEW: First-time visitor. Walked in around 4:30 Monday afternoon. Great table location and very good service - attententive and interested in us - used our camera to take a picture of us. Caesar salad with shrimp was good as well as their Wharf appetizer mix. Menu looked good, but I was disappointed about no hushpuppies, and I certainly don't need San Francisco sourdough bread in Texas.

MY REVIEW: Best kept secret in Galveston. Half block from the strand, it is a great place to eat before or after you shop. The prices are very good and the food is fantastic. We eat outside and always see dolphins. My wife's favorite is the spinich salad the is already chopped up for you with chicken. My favorite is the fried shrimp and catfish combo, but occasionaly do sample others. never had a bad meal, or a shock with the check. don't miss the onion rings for starters, but don't get a salad as well or you won't be able to finish your meal. There are a few other good places, but this will be your favorite!

MY REVIEW: Fisherman's Wharf in Galveston has the most awesome food.
It is expensive, but the service is great, and the food is delicious. I had a whole grilled flounder with a side dish of crab meat. The server deboned the flounder next to the table.
We especially enjoyed being there today, because the Grand Princess Cruise Ship was docked next to the restaurant, and it was gorgeous.

MY REVIEW: I'm very surprised that Fisherman's Wharf has two glowing reviews. While the service was nice enough, the food was...well, substandard and overpriced. I had a seafood pasta dish that was greasy and short on seafood, my dinner companion had catfish that had seen better days.
Galveston has a number of better places to go for seafood. I would recommend any of them over this.

MY REVIEW: Fishermans Wharf is one of the best Seafood restaurants in Houston. I never miss an oppurtunity to eat there while in Galveston. The atmosphere is great and the wait staff is very prompt & nice. My favorite is the Fried Snapper with Ponchutrain Sauce. My wifes favorite is the Stuffed Flounder. Both are two of the BEST seafood I have ever tasted!!!

MY REVIEW: I was very pleased with both my experiences at Fisherman's Wharf. It is expensive, but not more so than most nice seafood places. Good atmosphere although not as good of a view as I expected because there is a big oil operation or something straight ahead and the ship museum is right there as well. But the service was excellent! I even sought out the manager and complemented him on it after my first visit. Also, the food was very fresh and well prepared. We had the seafood fondue both times, which is GREAT. Not for dieters, but delicious. The fried seafood platter was very good as well. The scallops were notably excellent. I have tried many seafood places in Galveston and this is by far the best one.
