MY REVIEW: VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! I went on very slow Wednesday night and had horrible service! I have been to the Rice Village location a couple of times and everything there is great. The food at The Woodlands location was good too. But our server knew nothing about the food and did not know if there were any drink specials. When we did order drinks, he took 15+ minutes getting them (there were only 2 other tables in the entire restaurant)! Then we were waiting over 15 minutes for him to come by to run our check. Finally we went to the front of the restaurant and had him run the cc there. I will never go back to The Woodlands location!

MY REVIEW: The food was good and came fairly quickly. The service was terrible. The waiters didn't have much to do on a Sunday night, but it was hard to get anyone's attention even though they were mostly standing around. Our waiter had a hard time understanding what we were saying. The table was not cleared or wiped down after the main dishes and before dessert.

We had better service before, though it is always rather slow.

MY REVIEW: I went to this place for my friend's birthday and at first the menu is a bit overwhelming- it takes forever to just read it- then making a decision on how many things to get is an interesting task also.

I got the goat cheese and vegetable pizza with some potato croquettes. both were EXCELLENT!!! i was very impressed and i will be back to this place very soon. the only grievance i had was their margaritas were 8 dollars!!!!! and the price is not listed anywhere so the only way to know that is once you get the bill. i was not happy about having had an 8 dollar margarita but the food made up for it. definitely try this place!

MY REVIEW: The small portions and reasonable priced dishes was a huge plus. The food was great and the service satisfactory. the menu selection was nice. Live entertainment was setting up as we ate (and left before they started) but overall the experience was good.

I would suggest going early if you're looking for dinner. I've heard (and fully believe) that after 8 or 9 it turns into more of a bar than a restaurant.

MY REVIEW: My wife an I went last night. This place seems to be mostly a bar with food added as an after thought. The place was not exactly dirty, but nothing seemed realy clean either. The first table we sat at had dirty cutlery on the bench. The table seemed a little sticky. We asked to be moved and again the table seemed a little sticky. For the most part the food was just OK. Everything needed salt and pepper of which none was on any table. We tried an egg plant dish which I thought was out of sight and will probably return and give the restaurant one more chance based on the one dish. The bathrooms were clean, but I did not like having to pickup the lid to the trash can to throw away a paper towel. We went on a sunday evening about 7:00pm. The restaurant had only a few customers and seemingly only one waiter/bartender and one watress. Service was not bad. While I think we will give the restaurant another try, there was no WOW factor that makes us want to go back. Perhaps it was just an off day for them.

MY REVIEW: I have given this restaurant several tries because I love the idea of ordering small portions and sharing. However, everytime I have been there the place is empty!?? The service was OK but the food was marginal at best.....not worth the price. It seemed that all of the tapas that we ordered came with 3 small servings. This is awkward for the typical party of 2 or 4. I think I'm done with this place, which is sad because it's within walking distance of my home.

MY REVIEW: The food was okay. I was disapointed about the misadvertisment on their website. Specials they had listed were not honored at the restaurant. In fact they had no idea what I was even talking about when I asked about the specials. I might go back but I would deffinately not rely on anything listed on their website, especially the pricing!

I even tried to contact them via e-mail, but of course the link for the e-mail didn't even work.

MY REVIEW: We came for a very early dinner on a Saturday - about 5:30 pm. The place had only a few people at that time. Our waiter was a bit stand-offish, but did help us when selecting some different wine choices. The service was pretty good, though we did request more bread and never received it. Our water was refilled often, but the refills on the wine was a bit slow. We loved each of the dishes we ordered -- everything tasted excellent. BUT at the end of our meal they started to push tables together with our booth -- and proceeded to hand us our check (we were still drinking our wine and having our dessert). Then even went so far as to put chairs next to the booth, blocking our exit... it was a bit rude if you ask me -- pretty much pushing us out before we even finished our dessert and drinks... We will probably be back because we enjoy the food, but I was totally taken aback by the way our meal ended.

MY REVIEW: So I was really scared to go to this tapas place after reading so many dismal reviews. But I was pleasantly surprised when I got there... in a way. The hostess seemed to be more preoccupied with talking to her friend but we were seated promtptly and our waiter Johnathan was attentive and had good suggestions for a few tapas choices.

I expected more out of the ordinary tapas, but what they had was savory for the most part, my water glass was always kept full and the tapas arrived in a timely fashion. Now keep in mind the crowd was minimal and it was a weeknight. They also had a live band which wasn't bad at all. Overall the experience was a good one, and I hope to go back and sample a couple more tapas.

MY REVIEW: It is getting BETTER! This new and long anticipated location delayed their opening (not sure why), but still they opened a litle too soon. They need some work, specifically on service. The first time we went, in July, the service was terrible (probably too crowded, and not enough staff). The 2nd time a little better. The 3rd time, we were excited and happy to find that they have hired the former Manager at Gring*'s, Francisco, who is quickly whipping the place into shape. Francisco is a young, but very professional gentleman and Mi Luna did well to hire him.

So please, if you have tried them, and were dissappointed, or you are not happy with the reviews, please try them again. Ask for Jessica. Tell her Jake and Amy sent you. She is one of the FINEST waitresses I have ever had and I HOPE they can keep her. She and Francisco are working hard to reverse the initial service dissappointments.

OH, and don't go there with the intention of being in a hurry. A tapas restaurant is designed that way... mostly its a drinking and socializing place that happens to serve appetizers. In fact, in South America, tapas restaurants serve the tapas FREE as long as you are drinking.

They have live music and dancers too. It gets pretty loud in there, too loud to talk, so if that bothers you, go early or late, OR sit outside on their exclusive patio (with a great view of Highway 6 traffic, haha).

MY REVIEW: Rice Village Location *Warning* for those who do research on pricing prior going to the restaurant please beware of the Mi Luna's website. Prices are NOT correct for the Sunday Brunch. It is $21.95 and the bottomless mimosa/sangria is $7.95. My friend and I reserved a Sunday Brunch for our birthday for about 20+ people, on the website it says that the price was $16.95, so we were expecting to pay just that per person. When we arrived waiter/waitress did not tell us that price and it was NOT posted anywhere, and we were presented with a huge bill. The manager took 30+ mins to finally come to a compromise with us and she took $80.00 off the buffet (which came out to be $17.95/per person), She said that it was not their fault and claimed we have the incorrect price and that the website has not been updated for five years now. It is NOT the customer's fault that the website has incorrect info. Mi Luna's website is false advertising their Sunday Brunch!

MY REVIEW: Weak points: 1) They lie to their customers on their website. The price is NOT as advertised ($8 more than they posted online). Also, they refuse to honor the online price, since "they do not have the password to change it," which is the worst excuse I have ever heard. 2) Their food was very stale, and it was overly sour. 3) The service was also astonishingly bad. It took the waiters more than 30 minutes to bring us some juice - and not the one we ordered.

This is definitely the worst Spanish restaurant I have ever eaten in. However, they do have ONE good point: their deserts were very good.

We went there in a group, and all of us swore not to ever come back again. It was that bad.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I celebrated our anniversary last year at Mi Luna's University Blvd location. We ordered a wide assortment of tapas and everything was really excellent. After that experience, we were excited about their new location in Sugar Land, until we ate there.

The waitress brought us water that tasted of salt and detergent. When we pointed this out to the hostess, she said that there was nothing she could do about it; she explained that their ice machine made all of the drinks taste that way.

This was supposed to be their Sunday tapas buffet, but it had very few of their tapas dishes. In addition to all of their offerings being either completely tasteless or offensive, it was obvious that their kitchen staff hasn’t mastered even the most basic cooking skills. The water for the boiled shrimp had not been salted, the ‘meat’ in the paella consisted of fat-wrapped bones, and the sugar syrup on the flan had not been caramelized, it had been burned black.

We’ll give the Mi Luna on University Blvd another try, but we won’t be back to the Texas Drive location in Sugar Land. What a huge disappointment and waste of time and money.

MY REVIEW: Sugar Land location - Needs a lot of work. Nice looking place but food had no taste other than garlic. Took about ten minutes to get a glass of wine, which didn't taste right, and I later noticed on the bill that it was not what I had ordered. And LOUD. Most restaurants are fairly loud in any case, but here they had a guy playing a keyboard along with a singer, and you literally couldn't hear the person next to you, and we were across the room from the musicians. Sugar Landers flock to new restaurants, but this is nothing like the original in the Village.

MY REVIEW: Sugar Land location -- just returned from there... Horrible experience... We were very disappointed with the service (and I do not consider myself to be very picky). Got menus, bread, oils, and first waters pretty quickly, after that it was downhill. Ordered drinks after about 15 minutes, and finally ordered 4 tapas after 30 minutes. We never really figured out who our waiter really was. It took over 1 1/2 hours to get our first appetizer. We finally had enough and decided to cancel the remainder of our order. Oh -- we did get water refills and napkins, silverware, and plates when our bill finally came. No question were asked as to why we wanted to cancel our order. We noticed that other around us were receiving similar service. We were out on the patio, so perhaps that was the problem. On a positive note -- the margarita and calamari were pretty good, but we will NEVER go back due to the service. I don't see this place making it in Sugar Land without better training in regards to service. Sugar Land is already saturated with eating establishments.

MY REVIEW: Our visit to this restaurant included 5 adults. The atmosphere, music and food were very good. I had the mussels for appetizer and the bread was also good. Did not try the paella but will in the future. The service at the bar was good, let me repeat: at the bar. Once we moved to a table we then experienced the waitress from hell as mentioned in another review. If there is one thing that was dissapointing at this restaurant it would be customer service. The hostess also needs customer service improvement in a hurry, she did not remember what she had told me about our table, she also seemed bothered when approached for questions. Obviously we cannot say that all employees there have this attitude and that is why we will return. It could have been a bad night and if not, it will be very dissapointing since this place could be even better. They also need to do some work with their ventilation, when a place is crowded and you have a hot kitchen under the same roof, it is without say that you have to be prepared for this.

MY REVIEW: If you want a great dinning experience just ask for Edid(sp?). My wife and I have been 5 times. She loves the atmosphere, and I love the food and wine. I feel like if I’m going to pay top shelf prices for a night out, I should receive exceptional service. The first few times there, the service was lackluster at best. Last time our server really took the time to make sure the night was special. I normally don’t take the time to post to sites like this, but Edid or something like that, really deserves a gold medal.

MY REVIEW: I too am astonished and horrified at the abysmal service I received my first, only and last time there. This is a spot that was recommended for it's ambience and good service, I must say I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. From the moment we walked in the waitress looked like she was bothered and tired, no people skills whatsoever. We were celebrating a birthday and needless to say we had a large party with PLENTY of money to spend....but that apparently doesn't matter to the restaurant. Because we were various families we insisted on separate checks-need I remind you that on their menu it states that separate checks are availabe just to let the waitress know, well not that night, we received every excuse in the book and they were adament about NOT separating checks. Not only was that a slap in the face for us but an embarrassment to our guests for the inconvenience. We paid for our drinks and left, and got the feeling that they were happy we were leaving. My overall impression was that it's a meat-market for the single young crowd, children not welcome. I left comments with the host, waitress, and manager, to let them know how disappointed we were. If only the owner could read this, because someone DEFINATELY has to notify him that his supposedly-wonderful establishment is FAILING MISERABLY from meeting customers'expectations.

MY REVIEW: I have been going to Mi Luna a few times a week ever since moving to Houston in 2001. I am astonished and horrified at the abysmal service I received the last two times I visited. This is a spot where I ALWAYS take visitors from out of town and have a great time. No longer is this the case. I have been to Mi Luna twice in the past two weeks (after a staff overhaul)and waitied MUCH too long for service both at a booth and at the bar. To name a few of the problems: 1. Two bartenders staffed at 7pm on a Friday, took 15 minutes to get drinks, then another 15 minutes for him to come back and take a food order. 2. On a Friday evening at happy hour (the restaurant was nearly deserted) we were one of three tables. Our food came out after sitting in the window (we could see it) for 5 minutes while the waiter chatted up the hostess and answered phones, and several other waiters looked at the ticket, checked the food, and then walked away rather than bringing it to us! 3. Once the food came, a dish was incorrectly prepared because the kitchen was out of something, which the waiter failed to inform us of. I guess he thought we wouldn't notice? 4. He brought a coffee refill from a thermos that was full of COLD coffee from who-knows-when? I left a note on the receipt with suggestions, and I hope they went to the management, because someone has made a mess of training staff and keeping this once-wonderful establishment meeting customers' expectations.

MY REVIEW: Loved it!!!! We decided to eat at Mi Luna since we have finished car shopping near Kirby. It was Monday so I was surprised at the crowd. Service was excellent! We ordered a few cold plates right away while we took our time looking at the wine list and our first plate arrived before the wine! It was great! Water was refilled multiple times, as well as the Iced Tea. The Sangria roja was excellent and the Paella Mi Luna was delish as well. Will go back again and this time will leave room for dessert!!

MY REVIEW: I visited this place Sat 30 September 2006. And I loved everything. The food was superb, I loved the shrimp in garlic sauce, the ambience was really nice. Everybody there was having so much fun enjoying the food, drinks and the latin music of a superb 4 piece latin music band that was performing that night. They have so much energy and really can play nice latin music. I danced all night to the contagious beat of these guys I had such a good time, that I will definitely return and recommend it to my friends. Again, the food, the management and the music was the best I've ever seen! Thumbs up to Mi Luna.

MY REVIEW: I was not impressed with Mi Luna. Service was bad, tables were dirty, staff was inattentive and there was a long wait for water and bread refills. This place did not live up to the rave reviews a friend had previously given it. According to my friend, they have undergone a change in management from the original owner and sadly, it shows. I wish I could have visited in their hey-day. While some of the dishes were tasty, like the shrimp in garlic sauce, small pizza with vegetables, goat cheese and tomato spread with buttered garlic bread slices, the overall experience was disappointing. The decor and ambience are there, the food is there, but the service, cleanliness, staff and host fail miserably.

MY REVIEW: Management very much needs to pay attention to customer service. Restaurants thrive on customer referrals. This was my second time to visit and again service was not at it's best. We were a party of six and multiple times we had to ask for bread, refills on water, and we finished our sangria pitcher rather quickLY but waited for at least 10 minutes to get another. Come on you guys... we are not in Spain where lifestyle is at a slower pace.
