MY REVIEW: We have been going here since the first day they opened and to date have not had anything but great food and awesome service. A recently changed menu now offering some bonefide UK fare seems to be catching on and is quite good. The new salad entries that we have had are equally as good. Their "Happy Hour" is the happiest and best in the area. A group of us go every Sunday for football and extended happy hour with half price appetizers. Smoking, at times, has been a little heavier than other times but during warmer weather when the patio doors are open it really isn't an issue. The most important thing is the consistency of the great service and good food that we have experienced every time we go. Their staff from the General Manager to the Doormen at the front are the friendliest and go out of their way to make our visits worth coming back for.

MY REVIEW: This place gets filthier, the crowd gets sketchier, and the "service" gets slower and ruder every time we eat here. Food is mediocre at best and NEVER delivered the way it's ordered (dressing on the side, sweet potato fries instead of regular...these are impossible requests, apparently). Way too many superior choices in the area to return to this smoke-filled dive.

MY REVIEW: I have been to the Cinco Ranch location almost every other month for lunch. Food is always good and reasonable. My only complaint is the smoke, there is really no non-smoking section. I sat in the non-smoking section but still can smell smoke. After I ate there, I had to wash all my clothes. That's the reason I don't go there more often.

MY REVIEW: The food is great but the place is way too smoky. Can barely breathe in there. It is a bar at night so if you go in there for lunch the next day, it is still filled with smoke. The need some kind of venting system. Food is really good though and they have a great happy hour.

MY REVIEW: My fiance and I had a great night out at Baker Street tonight. This place is exactly what Katy needed. Always friendly service...great drinks and food for great price! And that bathroom door is too funny!! Love the decor and overall feeling there. Five stars!

MY REVIEW: If you are looking for a great place to go in Katy for happy hour drinks or bands, this is it! Every time Ive gone up there, the service and food was outstanding! I highly recommend the fish and chips myself. I like that they never have a cover charge for the bands. I also hear their happy hour is from open to close on Sunday... Ill see them this Sunday for sure!

MY REVIEW: We arrived 1:30P on a Tuesday. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Great food. 21 people, at least 15 different entres, and everyone raved. Lunch prices are great. My fish and chips were served hot, crispy and perfectly prepared. My wife's bacon spinich salad was a platter beautifully piled high with vegtables and served with the two dressings she wanted to try on the side. The soup and half sandwich across the table from me looked great. I like the ambiance. We have been to the Sugarland spot as well. Both have that cozy, laid-back English pub decor that invites you to consider forgetting the rest of the afternoon.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I visited for the first time on a weekend afternoon, so I thought we'd try it again last night (Tuesday evening). People were smoking in the front of the place, so we tried the back. I used to smoke, so I'm not unreasonable when it comes to smokers, but it was equally smoke-filled and practically overwhelming.

We ordered an appetizer and weren't given plates, silverware, or napkins. So, we had to get up and grab our own stuff from a server station (not knowing that the server had gone to dinner and wouldn't be back for awhile). So, another server sees this, apologizes and tells us that our server is now on break and she will be our new waitress...never saw her again.

A third person serves our entrees and we sat there with empty glasses eating dinner until our original waitress finished her dinner and offered us a second drink. Additionally, it was Karaoke night and so incredibly loud, that when we left, there were Fort Bend County constables outside...probably due to a noise complaint. Never again.

MY REVIEW: Each time we have visited this restaurant the food was very good. The best beer battered fish we have had in Houston. The smoke, however, is overwhelming to say the least. Asking for a non-smoking table is a waste of time. Our clothing reeked with smoke hours after we returned home from dinner. Certainly a restaurant with food this good can manage to accomodate their non-smoking customers better than this. The wait staff was friendly, yet the hostess was quite unprofessional when we were greeted at the door. We will go back, but during the day when the air is easier to breath!

MY REVIEW: The reviewer who said "as British as C*huck E. Cheese is Italian" I cannot better this analysis.

British myself and the menu had virtually no British items at all. The one they did have (Scotch Egg) I asked if they could serve cold and they actually lived up to it except one small point, by "cold" I did not mean the pork wrapper to be uncooked!!! (Scotch Egg should always be served cold and is so in the UK.)

The fixtures and fittings were quite nice and good for sports watching.

But I tell you the kitchen/menu does not look to be anything special and definitely nothing skewed towards English cuisine at all.

Guinness was OK as were martinis (although not 100% shaken with enough ice). But still the scotch egg "tartare" (a narrow escape by my own vigilence) will be enough to keep me away.

MY REVIEW: My wife and visited Baker Street Pub in Katy this past week and will not return.

My wife ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and I ordered the chicken breast with some sort of garlic sauce with rice pilaf. The chicken on both dishes was bland at best and the garlic sauce on mine did nothing for the dish. The rice pilaf was sticky and just plain terrible. I ordered an iced tea with my meal and it tasted more like water with lemon, just not good.

Our server was horrible to boot. We sat for a very long time with no server. When she did show up, she did apologize and continued by saying that she was outside cleaning off the patio chairs and tables since it had just rained. So we ordered our drinks and food. Someone else brought our drinks as well as our food. I went through the entire meal with an empty tea glass until I finally got up and filled it myself. The whole time, the waitress was talking with a bigger table next to us which was filled with people who were obviously regulars. The waitress stood by the table next to us filling their water glasses and beer glasses by using the pitchers already on the table. The next time we saw our waitress was when she brought the bill.

We have decided that wait staff need to realize that their tips are earned, not a given. My wife and I tip very well when we receive good service, well above the 20% range for outstanding service. This night, we left no tip at all. I've done this one time before and that was probably 10 years ago or so. No more tips for bad service.

MY REVIEW: Maybe it's just the Sugar Land location, but this is as British as Chuck E C*heese is Italian. The burgers were good but the waitress said no HP sauce? WTF? The look I got when I asked for vinegar for my chips was odd since this is suppposedly a British pub. The Sheperd's Pie's not bad. Didn't try the scotch egg but I should have since I was told I couldn't get a side of Branston pickle. Maybe it was just a bad waitress but I probably won't go back.

MY REVIEW: Since there's hardly a tuppence difference between this pub and Brian O'N*eill's across the street, it comes down to ambience and comfort. Baker Street is another sports bar dragged up in Brit-pub #1 style. The food is modest - my partner said her Cobb Salad as alright, whereas my fish-and-chips was pretty undistinguished. The service was pleasant but slow, vexing given the relatively few patrons in the place early Saturday evening.

The server didn't really know her beers. Worse, we ordered and received possibly the worst Sam Adams brew we've ever had: the Oktoberfest. Either this particular keg is bad; or the folks up in Boston don't know how to brew a good Oktoberfest. In any case, we both agreed the beer was skunky and traded it in for more tasty pints with the perfect acquiescence of our server.

Since [a] The G*ingerman with its wealth of great beers is equally right across the street; and [b] I have found more comfort at Brian O'N*eill's, it's unlikely I will return to Baker Street: a trial balloon that never got off the ground for me.

MY REVIEW: this is one of the hot spots for sugar land nightlife, with a mixed crowd of older and younger people. it stinks like smoke (even during the day for lunch) but it is a bar...the food is decent...try to get a table because service at the bar is slow since it is always so crowded. when ordering mixed drinks specify the alcohol. I have had some very digusting cape cods due to cheap vodka.
