MY REVIEW: the buffet is amazing
i invited two friends who are picky about food and were afraid of trying indian food, but once the fresh naan and the warm saag paneer hit their mouth, they changed
the buffet keeps everything warm and has the best dishes out like pakora, tandoori wings, saag paneer, chicken tiki masala, tandoori chicken and tava

MY REVIEW: I ate here for my birthday and had a great experience! The service was attentive, we received our food in a timely manner, and it tasted wonderful. I hadn't been here since last year and was surprised they changed their menu. They only offer 2 variety platters, the Viceroy & the Thali which is vegetarian.
My friend and I split the Viceroy since it is only offered as a platter for two and had a lot of food leftover. Our dining partners got the chicken vindaloo (which was super spicy), tandoori prawn, saag paneer, rice, and naan. Everyone was happy after our meal even the one who usually doesn't like Indian food! I'll definitely go back for the Lunch buffet at the new location in the Galleria which is supposed to open this month.

MY REVIEW: My boyfriend and I always grab a bite to eat here. We have been regulars for the past 2 yrs. We decided to go on Valentine's Day and were treated horribly. We got a table in the back by the bathroom, the waiter told us that we were required to order a minimum of 2 dishes because of the Valentine's Day "Rush", our food took way too long to come, my boyfriend and I were just barley discussing our bill and it was literally snatched out of my hand by the waiter who was in a rush to have us out in order to seat the next party.
I would go again but it will be a while before I visit back. And I will def. not go on a "busy" night.

MY REVIEW: First visit to Bombay Brasserie. NIce atmosphere. Kind of hard to negotiate the parking and traffic, but worth the effort. The Chef's Platter for starters was ok, but the bahji were a little overdone. Service was excellent! My Prawn Marsala was also top notch. Since I live close by, I will come again and explore their menu.

MY REVIEW: My fiance' and I visited this restaurant because we LOVE Indian food. We read the reviews and decided to visit. Everything was excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service, and the wonderfully clean tables dressed in white linen. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive to our every need. We were thoroughly satisfied and will probably visit again next weekend. I highly recommend this restaurant! The food is awesome!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I went for the lunch buffet on Sunday. I've been to a lot of North Indian places and let me tell you this is probably THE best ever! Not only did they have great meat dishes, they ALSO had a good amount of tasty vegatable side dishes - which are missing from most Indian restaurants. In order to really enjoy Indian food, I require not only good meat, but also good vegetable sides! One of their strong points was that the spices were very different in each dish. In other words, they had great contrasts in flavor from one dish to the next. Their nan bread was also good.... as it passed my test for good nan, i.e. it stayed soft and fluffy even after it got cold. Most other places serve nan bread that becomes crunchy once it cools off. Oh yeah and the sauces were top notch... I almost wanted to fill a bowl with their curry sauce and drink it! Suffice it to say I ate and ate until I almost keeled over.

MY REVIEW: After reading horrible reviews on another site, I was reluctant to try this restaurant, but, being in the mood for Indian food, my husband and I decided to give it a try today for lunch. I don't know *what* those other reviewers were talking about! The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. Price is great for an Indian buffet, too. We will be back for sure!

MY REVIEW: I have heard about this restaurant from friends in the past but never had a chance to visit until last night. I am so impressed -- I love hot and spicy food. Best!!! The restaurant is very nice, the staff was very friendly and attentive. I will be coming back in the future. I love the Chicken Vindaloo, the naan, and the rice.

MY REVIEW: So glad they're back in business. We used to eat at the Richmond location on a regular basis until the fire.
The new site isn't as spacious, but has what I look for in a good Indian restaurant, namely excellent food and attentive service. The guys here remembered us from the Richmond location and it was as if they're hadn't been any hiatus.
They have the same menu... everyone in our party of four loved their food, and a lot of the same staff are working here. I seriously recommend the malai kofta to veggie fans. Ask for it hot if that's what you like and it will be the best one you've ever had..guaranteed.
Word is that Richmond location will open again, can't wait. Bottom line....not exactly a beautiful restaurant, but wonderful food and that's what's important.
For those of you bringing kids, no problem, they're teated with respect; just another diner. No kids menu that I know of.......what a wonderful opportunity to introduce them to the joys of Indian food.

MY REVIEW: CLOSURE ALERT!!! For some reason, no one else has written in here about this, so I thought I'd be the bearer of bad news. One of the best Indian restaurants in town is now closed due to a terrible fire. Apparently it occured on 5/31 (according to news reports) and also destroyed the TJ Maxx clothing store next door. I am not sure if Bombay Brasserie is permanently closed or if the owners will rebuild it, but for the last month or so it has been out of commission. Here's to hoping this great Indian restaurant can get back on its feet and resume its excellent quality and service.

MY REVIEW: We dined at the Brasserie Saturday night around 9 PM. I was afraid they might be closed or ready to close so I was pleasantly surprised to find many tables still occupied in the restaurant. The wait staff was attentive and the food was excellent, but pricey. I have eaten here two other times, at lunch, which is the best deal for your money. They have a wide selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious. I have eaten at several other Indians restaurants and this is the best by far. We will visit again soon.

MY REVIEW: This restaurant is fabulous. Bombay Brasserie is by far my favorite Indian restaurant in Houston. My favorite dishes are the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Saag Paneer. The naan (bread) is delicious. The service is always wonderful and the food is fantastic. The wait staff and management knows me by now, so they are even more friendly and attentive when I go to this restaurant for lunch or dinner. Try it! You won't be disappointed!

MY REVIEW: This was my first visit and I really enjoyed it. First of all it was quite nice inside! Tablecloths, candles, nicely set tables. I wasnt expecting it to be so nice. Luckily, we were let in as we were dressed casually. The food was very good. We had 3 dishes: Chicken Korma, Mushroom Mataar & Dall Makhni and garlic naan. It was so good! The chicken Korma was spicier than I thought it would be but it was great. We had rice of course & that was really good. The 3 entrees fed 3 of us twice. The waitstaff was very attentive and very friendly. Our drinks were continually refilled as was our basket of bread and chutneys. We were also given some great ice cream at the end of the meal-one was pistchiao & the other was mango.
I was very impressed with the place & cant wait to go back. Our bill for 3 people-dinner & drinks was only $52.00. Quite a good deal in my opinion.
I highly recommend Bombay Brasserie!!

MY REVIEW: This is what white-tablecloth dining should be. I usually go there on special occasions. I've only been there for dinner, so I can't attest to the lunch buffet, but the service is always excellent- your water glass will never go below the halfway mark. Food is definitely pricey, and you may have to wait a while to get it, but that's because they're making it fresh- and also, why would you come to a nice restaraunt if you were in a hurry? Expect to spend at least $25 a person and at least an hour and a half there. Very luxurious. Very pleasant. Food is excellent, but don't be afraid to ask your waiter if you don't know what something is, or if you'll like something. They are very accommodating and knowledgeable.

MY REVIEW: I went to The Bombay Brasserie last weekend. I have to say, it is the best Indian restaurant I have been in Houston. I ordered there Lamb Chops, which were nice and tender. My wife had the Chicken Tikka Masala and naan. The naan was nice and fluffy(the way that it should be)and the Chicken Tikka Masala was also good. The waiters were nice and attentive. I will never go to any other Indian restaurant.

MY REVIEW: The Bombay is the reason I have only been there once. I am in no way a huge lover of Indian food, but I have had some of the best, and the most one can say about the Bombay's cuisine, is that it is only somewhat edible. The waiters rarily left there posts behind the register for anything , the buffet ran out of just about everything in a matter of minutes, and there was a considerable wait before it was refilled again, and the place didn't appear to be all that clean. Unless you just want to pop in and nibble for what I consider overpriced for quality food, then you can, but if you would prefer fresher food with better quality, please go elsewhere.

MY REVIEW: I took my friends here for dinner. It was their first time eating Indian food and they were really impressed. They loved the food but the wait was kinda long. The owner of the restaurant was really nice and very polite but the waiters seemed somewhat unresponsive. The waiters didn't really talk much and it seemed like the owner was the one taking our orders. I guess we were not used to that.I would probably go here again..but most probably for lunch since it would be a buffett. The portions seemed small and quite expensive, but I have to admit the food here is really yummy.

MY REVIEW: Strong Points? Hmm. The ambiance is nice.
Week Points? Where do I begin? The selection of dishes is very poor, I went at 1:30 in the afternoon, and it looked as though the few dishes that were available had been sitting there all day.
The food has way to much grease and ghee, which makes one worry constantly about clogging his arteries with all the oiliness. There is always a foul smell around the resturant's back door, and when I last went, I discovered why. There was a grease truck there that was cleaning the resturants grease vats. I have never smelt anything so foul. Perhaps their thinking is that if they load the food with oils, customers will eat less. Good strategy. Especially since the food is not awe inspiring in the first place.
The ENTIRE time I was sitting, the ENTIRE time, not one person from the resturant approached me to see if I wanted someting in addition to water. Which in fact I did have a taste for Mango Lassi, but at $3.95 a glass, I wasn't about to beg for it. Most of the fine Indian resturants in town sell Mango Lassi for $1.50-$2.50 a glass. I've never seen a $4.00 glass of this stuff, and I eat Indian about 2 times a month for about 6 years now.
The naan was gummy, and tough, similar to when you put sourdough bread in the microwave, how it becomes chewy and tough after some time. The naan they do not make fresh but keep on a steamer. Most dissapointing, as this is one of the great things about Indian food, is the bread. Naan should be fresh, soft, yet crispy from being freshly baked. This was none of that.
Overall the dishes were very far from being awesome, even great, and the customer service was pathetic. All this for $11.95 for lunch buffet? Please. Even the lunches I've had around Hillcroft & 59 for $5.50 a buffet are better. Save your money. If you want a fine buffet lunch or dinner, visit the new Indian resturant on S. Shepherd & Richmond for some excellent food. At least when you eat there, you will want to say "Wow", and the customer service is a pleasant contrast to the Bombay Brasserie. The Bombay Brasserie was a BOMB. Not "THE BOMB", but "A BOMB"
Respectfully,
An Indian Food Lover

MY REVIEW: I and my husband went there for the first time and we really enjoyed the food. We love all the meat curry. The lamb curry was the best, but just only there was bones more than meat. The waiters are good. The place looked nice. We will surely go back but we can't go there too often, since the food are very rich and too fatty. Overall it was excellent but not for healthy people.

MY REVIEW: Food is consistently good. Like many Indian restaurants, no beef dishes, but that's OK because their chicken and lamb are excellent. I have found this place to be better than most of the Indian food places in Houston. Atmosphere is a little formal, but you can wear what you want. You can order your spices to taste, from mild to very spicey. Paratha, Kulcha and other breads are good. I have tried the korma, masala and vindaloo and all have been good. The owner is a little formal and somewhat compulsive. When I asked for some Naan with Raita for appetizer, he said "no, that is not an appetizer, you have to eat that with your meal". I guess he could lighten up a little, but at least he takes his restaurant seriously. I now go there about once a month.
