Senor Rita's Margarita Village (CLOSED)

 2409 Montrose Blvd Houston TX

MY REVIEW: I can see what come are saying on the price, but the place is such a blast!! I think that the gummi WORMS are a nice touch. Also the drink prices are not so bad as any other nice place in Houston. The portions are huge; I had to split the Dillas with a girlfriend and could only eat one of the 8-10 in the order!

MY REVIEW: Went with 3 friends, sat on the patio. Nice patio but the traffic (city buses) can be distracting. The 'ritas were good but pricy. The food was ok. Overall not all that great. Ma*ria Selm*a's is mo' bettah.

MY REVIEW: I tried Senor Rita's because I used to go to Cafe N*oche every Thursday for margaritas. I couldn't wait to have my routine drinks with my girlfriends at my old location. I was unimpressed. The margaritas are expensive for happy hour - $7.50 for their special ones and $5.50 for house margaritas. They go up $1.00 after 7pm. It took me 3 house margaritas to get a slight buzz. Maybe if they would remove the gummy bear worm they could lower the prices. Won't go back and am now looking for a new Thursday Happy Hour hang out. Any ideas?

MY REVIEW: This place was lousy. My husband and I went there for mimosas on a Sunday afternoon. They were the worst mimosas I've ever had - I couldn't taste the champagne, and the OJ was cheap and watered down. Plus, they were served in little plastic "rocks" glasses. However, I did see gaggles of families with small kids/infants. Heck, if it keeps 'em away from the better brunch places (H*ugo's, B*aba Yega), let 'em have it!!

MY REVIEW: Give this place a break Joe!!! It has only been open 2 weeks or so!

I think Robert Martinez has done it again! Just a nice place to sit out on the patio, hang out and have one of his delicious margarita concoctions! The goal of this place is not to be a mexican restaurant, just a place to hang with friends and sip margaritas....some of you might remember the old Senior Rita's in Rice Village, that one did not have ANY food...this is the same place except he now has a kitchen to make food...just enough to soak up the alcohol. The food is not the best but I dont think that is what they are going for. I think it is just a place for munchies, good margaritas, and a good time with friends.

Bottom line, do not expect some amazing food experience here, just a nice good time!

MY REVIEW: We walked in and asked for a patio seat, and the first thing that was asked was if we were having dinner. I guess you can't sit on the patio if you are not going to eat. The menu was not much, very little to choose from - NO FAJITAS. The wait staff had no idea, all acted like they were new to the business. And well the food was horrific, I could have went to Jacks and had more authentic mexican food. Will never go back.
