MY REVIEW: This place has gone downhill. We use to visit once a week and loved the food, not anymore. The last several times we ate here the food was aweful, under cooked and we also had raw food served. We have noticed the staff has changed as well. The only thing that was still good is the Tom Yum soup.

MY REVIEW: We order out quite frequently from this location but this is the last time we will do so, and probably won't be dining-in anymore either. Things have gone progressively downhill as they've expanded, it seems. In last night's take-out the spinach in the beef dish had not been washed very well and was sandy - ick. Flat rice noodles with meat and vegetables was about 50% nearly-raw carrot discs. Cutting them attractively doesn't compensate, I'm afraid. Everything else so-so in flavor and portions but expensive.

MY REVIEW: My comments are specific to the Sugar Land location, but I have never had a bad experience at the Richmond location either. YRMV
Red Curry Beef is a staple of Thai cuisine. Of the nine different Thai restaurants I have visited over the past few years, Thai Cottage has the best so far. (Yes, even better than the highly rated Thai G*ourmet). This makes the rest of their menu potentially outstanding as well.
The curry flavor is consistently great, and the #3 heat level has just the right amount of burn. I apply a sprinkle of salt, and I am off to a happy place. Likewise the flavors of their Thai Iced Tea, Yellow Curry Chicken, Satay Chicken with Peanut Sauce, and the Cashew Chicken Delight are wonderful.
If you and a guest are into soups or appetizers, the bill can bloat up quite a bit because these are high profit items.
The decor is appealing and the service is usually fast. It is often crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings, but the quality of the food is worth any wait you might experience. My maximum has been about ten minutes. Sadly, they are closed on Sundays. :(
I can recommend this location without hesitation.

MY REVIEW: SURPRISE INGREDIENTS ! First I want to say that the food was very good here, but there were surprising ingredients. The salad had raw onions in it, not really what I expect of a Thai salad. The spring rolls had mint in them, Not a pleasant surprise for me as I hate mint. I ordered the coconut ice cream, and it had Pistachios in it.
My peeve is that you should state clearly in your menu what is in each Item.
Food and service are great but here is one BIG BIG drawback! The music was too damn loud. Why in the hell do restaurants do this? I want to step into a nice little place with my wife and have a meal in a nice atmosphere. You had a gurgling fountain, nice soft lighting, a decent decor, and you ruined it with loud obnoxious indy-rock crap.
What is wrong with people?

MY REVIEW: AWFUL lunchtime service!!!! Do NOT go here if you have one hour for lunch. A coworker and I ordered our food at 12:10, asked about it at 12:38 and was told that it would be 5 more minutes because the large party that was there before us ordered first. What?!?!? If the kitchen can't handle large parties and small parties at the same time, then something is wrong. A gentleman came in after us, ordered after us, but got his food in 10 minutes. Why wasn't his delayed and ours was? We were the larger party in that scenario.
We finally got our food at 12:50, just in time for us to go back to the office. No apology, nothing. The waitress messed up our ticket and couldn't fix it. The waitstaff is completely clueless and were walking around the restaurant with plates of food asking people if they ordered what they were carrying. How can the two people who take orders be so clueless as to what people ordered? The food was decent, at best, so don't waste your time.

MY REVIEW: Always enjoy our visits here. Particularly like the scallops and shrimp skewer. Everything fresh and service is great. Only disappoinment was paying $5 for a Sapporo beer only to see on the label that it was bottled in Canada and not the original from Japan. Now I know.

MY REVIEW: I've only been to the Bay Area location but have been disappointed every time. The food is simply too sweet. I understand that that sweetness in some dishes is expected, but it shouldn't be cloying. Also, they do not use fresh hot peppers. They use bell peppers for flavor and either dried pepper flakes or hot sauce for heat. This is disappointing.

MY REVIEW: I have been a fan of this restaurant for MANY years. The food is always excellent. Service, however, not so much. The woman who answers the phone to take to-go orders has terrible communication skills. In person, she does not fare much better. Recently I walked up to the counter to pick up my order, but was completely ignored for 10 minutes while she processed payments for the dine-in customers. During this entire time, she never once even acknowledged me. This treatment is typical for nearly every visit -- whether dining in or getting takeout. If I didn't like the food so much, I would not return.

MY REVIEW: Friendly staff though none were Thai. Probably the 2nd best Thai iced tea I ever had. It still amazes me how many people are frequent Thai food eaters yet have never tried Thai iced tea. It ain't your standard iced tea, that's for sure.
All food choices by our party was good. Only complaint I had was the crab fried rice used cheap Dungeons Crab rather then tasty Blue Claw Crab. A few too many crab shells too.
Yea we will go back. Too many good things on the menu.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I are big Thai Cottage fans. We go a couple of times a month. We have been to both locations in Houston but since the one in Westheimer opened it's been more frequent as we live 2 mins away. The staff are polite and helpful and the food is always good and great value. We have tried the Pad thai, various salads and entree's aswell as the lovely red, yellow, pineapple and panang curry. Also the Crisps Wings of Paradise and the Shrimp Tom Yum and Tom Kha soup are moreish. They also have the best thai tea I have ever tasted! Very relaxed environment, peaceful place and service with a smile!

MY REVIEW: Love this place... when we eat here, there is one waitress that already knows what we want to eat and drink and my EXTRA LEMONS for my tea. Try the yellow curry, with chicken... #2 or #3.... it is yummy! Love the staff, love the spring rolls and their soups have a kick but are tasty. Definitely visit this restaurant a few times a month. Lunch time deals are good, too! ;)

MY REVIEW: I give 'em 5 stars for what it is. it's very casual, well decorated for anyone. It just can't stop me from coming whenever i'm in the area. The food was AMAZING, the portions were pretty big, and the prices are quite reasonable. My personal favorite dish is the catfish fillet curry. I have tried #5 spicy, oh! boy, it' just burned my lip, but was good.
This is definitely the place that I recommend, I'm not saying this is the best thai in Sugar Land, but you need to prepare for waiting line at lunch time everyday and also every weekend. I have never seen this place was empty. Go try them!!!

MY REVIEW: Great food, though their beef is poor quality. Stick with shrimp, chicken. Last time I was there, they automatically added 20% gratuity to the bill. You have to ask for condiments that are usually on the table at other restaurants. Service is not their strong point, though most of the time the staff is friendly. Bottom line: order take out, and get great food (avoid the beef) without the hassle.

MY REVIEW: Superb!!!! this is the busiest thai restaurant in sugar land, they can maintain good value and food quality after years. As I remember, my family have been eaten here for long time. The food is delicious and consistent, and they let us pick spicy level from 1-5 which is differentiated from others. However, be careful for higher level, it is so spicy.
The decoration is pretty nice, but so loud sometime. The service is great, the servers are very attentive, and I saw them keep running all the time. This place always has a long line at lunch, so be prepared to wait, even they just did a remodel 2 years ago, it seems not big enough. I strongly recommend this place to all friends.
