MY REVIEW: I've been here several times during the week for lunch. The lunch specials are a very good price. Everything I've had here has been excellent, especially the oysters. Serving sizes are good sized.

I also appreciate having the salad bar be an option for one of the side dishes. The salad bar is always very fresh and good.

MY REVIEW: My lord that was some good catfish. Quality Texas seafood at a price I could not argue against, especially in this economy. My wife enjoyed the pescado monterrey and she cleaned her plate (with a little help!). If your in the area and you love GREAT catfish fried better then you remember, try this mom'n'pop gem out. A nice change from all the franchises and chain restaurants.

MY REVIEW: TERRIBLE food, overcooked, dried out grilled mahi-mahi, acapulco sauce with imitation crabmeat and NO shrimp, dirty rice with mushrooms??WTF...You'd do better serving Zatairans dirty rice in a box. What drivel for food. Just spent $40.00 there and feel terrible for wasting money on such bad food.

Hush puppies were good. Nothing else

MY REVIEW: I LOVE THIS PLACE. GOOD HOME STYLE FOOD, GREAT DRINKS, ESPECIALLY THE MARGARITAS, AND AWESOME WAIT STAFF. THE NEW LOCATION WHICH IS ON THE NEXT BLOCK ONLY A FEW FEET AWAY, IS VERY NICE AND IMPRESSIVE. I LOVE THE FRIED SHRIMP DINNER AND THE STEAK SANDWICH, THE GREENBEANS AND COLESLAW ARE GOOD ALSO.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I moved to NW Houston in 2001 and have been to Hook, Line & Sinker maybe 75 times and have enjoyed our meals every time. The service has been good almost every time. The restaurant atmosphere is not that great, but the food is reasonable and good for lunch during the week.

MY REVIEW: I usually only write a review for an outstanding dinner but tonight I feel compelled to write one for a really terrible meal. By far, I had the worst fried catfish I have ever had anywhere. I must say that the dinner salad with blue cheese was cold and crisp and the cole slaw was certainly acceptable. This was "All you can eat" catfish night for $ 11.99. I should have questioned why there were so few cars in the parking lot and only several other diners in the dining area. There were more people at the bar. Maybe you had to consume lots of alcohol before attempting dinner.

The first plate of catfish "nuggets" (?) were cold inside. Even worse, I couldn't find the catfish through all of the soggy breading. The word "crispy" is not known here. After consuming these tasteless morsels, I agreed to let the waiter bring me a second helping believing it would be hard to duplicate the first batch. WRONG !! The only difference in the second batch was that they were warmer. When the waiter asked "How was dinner", I told him the truth. He said no one had ever complained before about the catfish. I was waiting for his nose to grow. However, he sounded remorseful and asked if I would convey my feelings to the Manager.

The Manager came out and I told him my sad story. He seemed surprised and then asked "Do you want dessert" ? Rather than prolong this agony, I said "No Thanks". At no time did he apologize or attempt to make amends for a lousy meal. For a few dollars more, go to a real seafood restaurant. By the way, the service was very good.

MY REVIEW: Visited since there were such great reviews. We ordered crawfish (Boiled in water with flavor sprinkled on top), blackened catfish dinner (It was ok), Shrimp Dinner (Also ok), and Gumbo (ok - but i flavored it well with tabasco). All this for a food bill of $55 for three. I think the pricing isnt too far off from P*apa's or G*oode Co which i hold as much better seafood. Its average to mediocre food for avg price. Myself, I would rather pay for excellent food for above avg price.

MY REVIEW: This is a great neighborhood restaurant. Good food at a reasonable price. I do enjoy their Margaritas. My friend and I eat there at least once a week, taking advantage of their specials.

MY REVIEW: The best inland place to get fresh seafood at a reasonable price. Don't miss the gumbo as a starter.. yummy seafood platter..so many great menu items at this family owned and operated business. Been a regular for many years until I moved out of state.. Now I am back and so happy to see nothing has changed!

Great service, great food, great prices! What a deal!

MY REVIEW: GREAT food. The Buffalo Shrimp have a really good "after burn"; oysters fresh but a bit small. The Special, Red Snapper with Shrimp Etouffee, was simply outstanding. Good sized portions. Excellent, attentive waitstaff. Looking forward to sampling more of their fare.

MY REVIEW: I went to this restaurant on a Saturday night with my girlfriend and we were both impressed with not only the food but the service as well as the prices. The portions were generous and our server, Dante was polite and intresting, but the spectacle of the dinner was the power loss half way through the meal. At this time the manager, David Kelly (he will let you know his name,) saved our evening as he resolved the power problem and added a bit of heroics to the night. I recommend this restaurant to not only those that live in the area but all of Houston as well.

MY REVIEW: This place ROCKS! We love the music, the friendly staff, the music, the video games at the bar, and the game rooms for the kids. We go for the all-you-can-eat quail on Tuesdays, and they keep 'em coming and they're absolutely out of this world.

MY REVIEW: My wife think that the sea food is great. The servers are always nice and helpful. This is my favorite restaurant. There are no week points that I could tell.

MY REVIEW: Everything was great, Food, attitude and service. As the evening progressed the waiter we had sucked. I was busy watching a baseball game and we had been there for a while. Then a few new customers walked in and the waiter changed the channel for these other customers. He did not take my order, I had to go and find him so that he could get it. When my order arrived he asked if I wanted mustard. We had to get it from the bartender and my burger was cold. When he finally arrived I asked him where the rest of my order was (fries) that came with it. No apology - just that they are coming (because they had to make another order). We asked for the ticket but he never returned so that we could take care of it. Had to give the bill to the owner so that it could be closed out. I would say our service sucked but the bartender was great. If it was not for her the whole evening would have SUCKED!!!!!!! My Advice is sit at the bar where the service is good or find yourself the waitress that was busting her butt to service her customers.

MY REVIEW: Good food, good prices, friendly staff. GENEROUS servings. Have gone with my Mom and my husband. They were VERY nice to my Mother who is a senior, and deaf and cranky. And to my husband who is just cranky. Yummy Long Island Ice Tea. Hey, fried green tomatoes! Though I prefer cornmeal over batter, they are delicious. I'm gonna be "everybody knows my name before long."
