MY REVIEW: Very seldom do we get over to Meyerland area, but we found ourselves there during lunch time, saw Fadi's and stopped for our first visit. We live in the Clear Lake area and are fortunate to have several good Middle Eastern restaurants. Fadi's compares very favorably. I was surprised this is a cafeteria set-up. But I like the concept.
I got the one meat, three vegetable meal. Hummus and sautee eggplant were very good. But Lebanese mashed potaoes, which I never heard of, were over the top good! Bread, hot from the oven was delicious. My meat was eggplant stuffed with ground beef, very tasty. Want to go back to sample lamb shank----theirs looked good. Or maybe I'll try the vegetable sampler plate from their large selection of sides. Guess I'll have to make several visits to try a little of everything.
Liked the decor, and was impressed that they received Marvin Zindler's award for cleaniness. Meyerland area is looking good these days, so will have to find excuses to return.

MY REVIEW: We love Fadi's sampler plate. They have a variety of "main dishes" that is excellent. We went one week ago and had the sampler plate plus roast beef. It was inexpensive and a lot of food that was great. When you arrive you are greeted with hot pita bread and that is just the beginning. I am excited they will have a DRIVE IN location right off Dairy Ashford and Westheimer because that is where I live.

MY REVIEW: Food is set up cafeteria style which presents a problem with freshness and food tempature at times. The food is better when it hasn't been on the steam table too long, the chicken becomes dry and the other items are lukewarm at best. The food itself is very good. My personal favorites are the lamb shank, eggplant, and falafel with tahini sauce. Be sure to try the hummus with hot pita bread, yummy! Overall, I would say the good outweighs the bad which is why I keep coming back to this place.

MY REVIEW: I was impressed by the cleanliness, variety and portions at this restaurant. However, the taste was very bland. I think their recipes are catered to the american palette with not much garlic, spice and flavor. The hummus and bread were good. My boyfried ordered the beef shawarma and it tasted like ground meat(not a good thing when you're expecting authentice spiced sliced beef). I ordered the plate with 1 meat and 2 entrees. My entree was the chicken pasta. My two sides were the hummus and fadi's salad. My sides were superb. Everything else was not good. It is a bit confusing when you walk in as a first timer. There is a menu as soon as you walk in. After deciding how you want your food, then you move on, cafeteria style, and tell the employees what you plan to order...be it a shawarma, kabob, or a "plate." I'd go here again if I were in a hurry for a movie, but I wouldn't take out of towners here.

MY REVIEW: The food was very very good. Until Fadi's I liked D*imassi's.
I have eaten in several mom and pop Lebanese restaurants here and none did I really like when I compare them to Lebanese food I ate when lived in Middle East. Maybe it was the atmosphere in the Middle East. I finally ended up at D*imassi's which I liked.
Fadi's like D*imassi's is buffet. They have a wide selection of items. Seems like a wider selection than D*imassi's but I may be wrong, sometime since I ate in D*imassi's. This location is very busy indicating people like it. I suggest you get there early but the line moves very fast. If they have to prepare your order such as kabob be prepared for a fairly long wait for it to get to your table.

MY REVIEW: The food is great. However, everytime I place to go orders (this has been 6 or 7 times now over the last three months) they never have the food ready on time, the last time I arrived 20 minutes after the time I requested and they were just putting the food in the to go bag. Also, each time I have placed a to go order they have left something out. Sometimes it's a side like Baklava, other times it's an entire entree. I think this was the last time our office will order lunch to go from Fadi's. Hopefully they will clean up their act.

MY REVIEW: The food is not as good as other restaurants that I have tried. The lamb kebob is dry and tough and actulaly, quite tasteless. For the price, this is unacceptable. I don't think I will go back to this restuarant again when there are others that have better Meditteranean food.

MY REVIEW: Fadi's is one of my favorite places to eat. My first visit was one year ago and now eat there several times per month. I love the hummus, pita bread, and lamb kabobs. I also like the vegetarian sampler so you can try all of the salads and side veggies. The fried cauliflower is great! I have taken many friends to eat there and everyone likes it too, and for most of them it was first experience eating Middle Eastern food. Everyone comments that they like how the food is served cafeteria style so they know exactly what they are ordering. The people that work there are very friendly, too.

MY REVIEW: One of my FAVORITE spots! I am a vegetarian and a very healthy eater, so I am always looking for healthy, yummy places that are suitable for the carnivorous non-health freaks in my family. THIS is the place. I always get a veggie sampler plate with hummus, tabouleh, cabbage salad, lentils, and eggplant. Each one is AMAZING. Oh and dont forget the fresh warm whole wheat pita bread!! I feel so good and healthy eating here, but very full and satisfied. I LOVE IT

MY REVIEW: If I could change one thing about this restaurant, it would be the seating arrangement. But that's a minor gripe; overall, this is a great restaurant. I really like that they have Odwalla juices. The times I have been, I have had the mango juice, which is incredible. I have tried to hunt it down at the grocery store, to no avail. The food selection is good, and ordering cafeteria-style allows you too see what you are choosing.

MY REVIEW: Went here last night with a big group. It was our first time there and I was not familiar with the layout of the place. I have to say, I wish the place had a better layout - the way it is set up leaves a lot to be desired, and it's very confusing.
We walked in the front door and on the right is a long counter with lots of items, which you have to ask for from the employees behind the counter, sort of like the way Luby*s is set up. Except there was no menu at the front, so I had no idea what the items were or what was available. Because there were people in line behind me, I felt rushed into making a decision before I really knew what I wanted.
I ordered a meat and 2 sides, thinking there was a limited selection. But after I chose 2 cold sides and moved down the line, I saw that there were a whole bunch of hot sides I hadn't seen before. They were a good 3 feet away from the cold sides, so there was no way I could have seen them in time to change my order.
Same for the meats: there were 3 chicken dishes and a fish, none of which I was in the mood for. I asked if there was any lamb, and the guy behind the counter kind of laughed and said no. I didn't think it was that weird of a request to ask for lamb in a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant, but whatever.
So I order a chicken dish, then I pass the desserts, and then AFTER the desserts, I see that there are meat kebabs! I was really more in the mood for a kebab, but at that point, I already had my chicken & 2 sides and could not put the food back! It was very strange. Why would the meat be split in 2 places, around a corner, with dessert in between?
The food itself was OK, but I really wasn't in the mood for the items I had chosen and was disappointed that I hadn't seen the items I really wanted until it was too late. The best thing was probably the fresh hot pita bread, which they make there, I guess.
On the way out, I saw that there was a huge lit-up menu posted on the LEFT side of the door, opposite the counter, but it certainly was not obvious coming in.
I will give this place another chance now that I know the layout, but honestly, My friends whom I went with seemed to like the food, but I wasn't too thrilled by my first visit. Maybe if I go back and actually order the items I want, it will be better.

MY REVIEW: This place is great - very casual, but so authenitc! And the food is superb and well priced (2 huge meals for $25!).
The breads are wondersful, along with tabouli (sp?). We chose lamb kebabs which we would definately get again. They took a while to make, infact I think they may have forgotten about our order, but once reminded they were brought out within 2 minutes. Next time I'll go for 2 sides and a main, not 3, because there was far too much food.
The desserts are the traditional baklava pastries - too rich for me as they are quite big. In SMALL doses they are delishious with a turkish coffee though!!
In all, the food is very flavoursom, and the staff are very friendly. One of my favourite restaurants in town.

MY REVIEW: This place is SO good! The people are so nice and friendly. I have only had good experiences here even when I had a problem with the service. Once too many people were there for lunch and I never got the chicken kabob on my 1 meat/2 veggie plate. When I told the cashier, he immediately refunded the full price of the meal! If you need a place that's different, fresh, and very accomodating go here! Thanks Fadi's I'll be back!

MY REVIEW: I have actually visited more than 6 times that I remember, but there is not an in between choice. WISH I still lived near that side of town to visit more, love the food, but the distance sucks now.
Again, food is great. First time I visited I wasn't so sure about the category of food. I was new in town, had never tried a cuisine outside of country tastes or BBQ, but I am adventurous. I have tried the chicken, and have branched out to other items. The hummus is awesome, kabobs at least smell wonderful, my dear husband wouldn't share :( . We have taken out of town friends there as well. They tried the Falafels with rave reviews. Sampled this myself, they are great. Turkish coffee is well reviewed by these same friends too. The Baklava is very fresh and tasty. Even though just about every side dish has dill...this is a very interesting twist for me, a refreshing change to your every day potatos and rice. I always grab two pieces of flatbread, fresh out of the oven, its delicious.
The ambience is lovely too. Love the decorations and the conversation going on (even if I can't understand the languages spoken) its very lively. And at lunch times, the conversation can get very serious and business like. Lovely place for a business lunch, very inspiring.
Just thinking about this place is making me hungry. :)
The lines can be long to get your order in/paid for, but it is a very popular place. They say the more popular a place is, the better it is, and this is the case. Prices are decent, and they serve a LOT of food for the price. My daughter doesn't always like the food, kids can be picky eaters, but at least she'll eat the chicken. AND she tried a little nip of the hummus. So, if your childi is a picky eater and not used to the cuisine, might not be such a great choice, but I love it.
Will be back as often as I can.

MY REVIEW: I love the food, the people and the ambience. I had my first experience using Fadi's to cater a party for 60 people at my home. The owners helped me with the menu, the amount of food and their recommendations were fantastic. All of my guests wanted a print out of the food served as it was delicious. Fadi's delivered and set up and the presentation was wonderful. I recommend them for any occassion.

MY REVIEW: Whenever out-of-town friends visit, we take them here. Then, later in the visit, we suggest going out for Mexican or Chinese food, and more than a half-dozen times, the friends have asked if they can go back to Fadi's instead. This is a fabulous spot. I almost always end up getting eggplant; what's amazing is that I never eat it anywhere but here. I like their Lebanese mashed potatoes and their herb potatoes, also one of my 7-year-old's favorites (along with the rice). The dips are good. I especially like the days when they have fish on the menu, and the fresh bread is always welcome. You're missing a key item if you don't try their fruit drinks (mango, strawberry, or a blend of the two), and the portion size is always enough for two meals. Friendly staff completes the winning package.

MY REVIEW: Food is excellent. If you haven't tried the fish on Wednesday and Friday, you aren't living right. I don't even like fish and I eat this one twice per week.
Maybe it is geared toward Americans as some have commented, as they say.."who cares, its good!" I eat the chicken the other days of the week. If the restaraunt is as bad as some say it is, why are there no seats available? Why are the same people there day after day. Because it tastes good!!! Great value for the amount of food you receive and the staff is always helpful. Always!

MY REVIEW: I live in Peoria Illinois and would move to Texas just so I could eat at Fadi's. Wow! Everything was absolutely delicious. I loved the hummus -- so fresh. The Tabouleh was the best I have ever tasted. They turn simple dishes into culinary art. Try the zucchini--just the perfect blend of garlic and spices. And do they know how to use cilantro. I could just go on and on. Please open a Fadi's in Peoria -- or even Chicago would make me happy. I'll drive 3 hours to eat at Fadi's. Thanks for a great experience. I was in Texas for 2 days and ate at Fadi's both days.

MY REVIEW: The Fadi's on Westheimer has been my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in Houston for quite a while. Today for lunch I visited the Beechnut location for the first time and discovered, to my delight, that it's quality is equal to the Westheimer location.
Hooray!
The restaurant is easily accessible from downtown too which is another factor that I'm usually looking for in a lunch joint.
I had the lamb shank, cabbage salad (forgot actual name), eggplant (soooo good but soooo bad for you) and freshly baked pita bread. Everything was excellent.
Highly recommended!

MY REVIEW: Wonderful salads, eggplant, kebobs, and desserts! Have had many wonderful meals, and introduced friends and family to Fadi's.
The portions are somewhat limited at times, but the plates are large. Also, the staff is actually pleasant, respectful, and attentive. Sad to say, but it is nice to be surprised to have good service and see people that are willing to serve their customers.
Prices are not out of line. Service is good, and they seem willing to please. I dropped a knfe once and the young lady brought one to me immediately, before I could pick the other one up.
Their catering menu is apparently the same as their normal menu. I have called and my order was available to pick up immediately. The cold items were COLD and the hot items were HOT when I delivered them.
Overall, a good place, generally busy, and they pay attention to the details.
I'll be going back, soon.
