MY REVIEW: It's back to no management again. Seat yourself and we finally had to clear our own table, since no one else bothered. The Mojito was pure surgar and almost undrinkable. The shrimp appetizer was excellent, but we left after a one hour wait for the catfish platters. On the way out, the owner/manager said only he would "chew out the staff". When this place is good, it is very good. The rest of the time, it it painfully bad. It lives by location and the view.

MY REVIEW: I LOVE this place. Have been coming here since March 07. Always great food and great service. Have been on different days of the week and have tried brunch, lunch and supper. Great prices too. Wish they had more choice of dessert. It's such a nice small restaurant with entertainment on Fri and Sat evening. The view is wonderful too. Try this place.

MY REVIEW: Well, I should have known it was too good to last. Went for dinner on Sat 8/4 at the Sundance Grill in Waterford Marina for a friends birthday. It's back to no management, bad service, and below par food. Evidently all the waitresses left and there is a whole new batch of incompetent waiters and waitresses to take their place. Our waitress said they were short handed, more like NO HANDED! The guy at the door seating people was so flustered bussing tables he finally threw up his hands and left the dining room when he was asked by someone at the table next to us why they still had not gotten their drinks. It was complete chaos, and there were only six or seven tables. Guess I will cross BOTH Sundance Grills off our list of places to go again.
We tried the "original" Sundance Grill in Seabrook and they have absolutely the RUDEST and most poorly trained waitresses I have ever seen.

MY REVIEW: We arrived for lunch and were disappointed. The tea was instant, which is a bad sign to start off. The food was okay, but nothing special. Service was slow and the food was not hot. Gumbo was bland and filled with lots of chicken and little seafood in it. The bread was promised several times until we finally got a piece. When asked for another piece, never got any. It had a nice water view, especially from the outside tables.

MY REVIEW: Well FINALLY there is management in place at Sundance Grill II that knows how to run a restaurant! We have been members at Waterford for years and have seen the managers come and go in the almost two years Sundance has been here. We can finally get food served in a tinely manner, our food comes out hot, bread will still melt the butter...she will even go into the kitchen and cook when the place is busy, and still she visits the tables of guests to make sure all is well. The quality and comsistancy of the food has improved drastically in the last two months, service staff has changed and seem to care, and we no lnger have any reservations bringing friends and family. Great job Pam, keep up the good work!

MY REVIEW: Despite the mixed reviews seen here.... we chose to eat at Sundance Grill for it's location (bay view) and outdoor dining.
It was a happy choice! We arrived early Friday evening; it was not crowded when we were seated. Our server was friendly and attentive. She made sound recommendations, stating first the menu items that were popular and then her personal preferences.
We started with a seafood cocktail... served in a large stemmed bowl (ala margarita glass). The seafood was incredibly FRESH! Then my husband and I split the Mixed seafood platter and the Salad Nicoise... again... a FEAST of FRESHNESS and wonderfully presented! I was glad to see they had a good selection of Heart Healthy items besides their buttered sauce recipes.
The other patrons were friendly. We had a case of "man overboard" as a guy on one of the boats approaching to dock for dinner. Immediately 2 patrons as well as 2 of the staff came to the aide of the water-logged would be diner, armed with a blanket... he chose not to remain in his wet clothes. But, I was impressed that they had a "plan" for accidents like that.
Sundance Grill is a fabulous place to observe a Texas Sunset... we will visit again next time we are on the coast!

MY REVIEW: I love this restaurant! The service can be hit or miss (depending on business volume) but the food and view are absolutely to die for! The salmon is my favorite, and even their bread is delicious. It is not the place to go if you are in a hurry, but for a relaxing evening out or a special occasion, it is perfect.

MY REVIEW: I had not visited this new restaurant in about three months. I was out of town for the summer and once I returned home I was looking forward to revisiting my favorite restaurants. Before I left, Sundance Grill at Waterford Harbour was my favorite place to entertain guests and out of towners. They previously had a super menu and great friendly service. Delicious food, organized staffing and wonderful managers. What happened!!! The waitstaff was confused, the food itself was over cooked and was not appealing looking at all, in fact, the entire menu had changed and was almost the same as the other Sundance Grill in Seabrook. If I wanted THAT food, I'd go over there, (but, I can't stand that place)so, I came here, only to be dissapointed. The new management was arogant and un apoligetic for slow service (it wasn't even busy) Too bad, another great restaurant bites the dust. I will never come here again.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I went to the Sundance Grill II for Mother's Day Brunch on 5-14-2006. We did not have a very good dining experience. Good points: The brunch was a champagne brunch, and the waitstaff kept the champagne flowing. We had a house salad which was quite good. We had cheesecake for desert which was also quite good. The waitstaff (except for the hostess) was exceptional. They were helpful, friendly and attentive, and were constantly in sight despite the heavy amount of orders they were dealing with. If I were to look back and remember anything at all about that day, it is the excellent service we received.
Bad points: We checked the internet before we went, and looked at the brunch menu. The Mother's Day brunch menu at the restaurant was different than the menu online; it was priced at $10 more per person, and the split charges were up from $3 to $5/person. We had cold boiled shrimp for an appetizer. Although large, the shrimp were mealy and old tasting. Our main course - I cannot remeber the name but was essentially poached eggs with beef medallions was a joke. The food was cold, and I found one beef medallion under my eggs that was the size of a nickel. The hostess was somewhat snobby, and not very helpful. In addition to our meal, we had three drinks (2 bloody Mary's that were awesome, and a pina colada that was awful - it seemed to be alcohol free). The total price for this not-so-palatable meal was close to $100 once we added a tip.
We do not plant to return. Ever.

MY REVIEW: I was hesitant to try Sundance's new second location at Waterford Harbor because of too many bad experiences to count at the original (rude waitstaff, rude owner, food takes forever, etc.), but i am so glad i did. We had an absolutely fantastic evening. Our server Dustin was knowledgeable, courteous, had great suggestions, and went above and beyond to make us happy. We had a group of eight so we had the opportunity to try many different entrees, all were exceptional especially the smoked seafood plate which was smoked on a cedar plank. The hans favorite appetizer and lobster tempura were both very good as well. For dessert we had bread pudding and creme brulee both were outstanding. I highly recommend this location the view is better, the service is much better, and the food is much better. This is my new favorite restaurant.

MY REVIEW: O.K., I have been to both Sundance Restaurants several times and I can honestly say that this review will be the truth. Sundance Grill at Waterford Harbor in League City, has a great menu, quality food, friendly service and an overall positive experience. Cedar Plank Snapper is to die for, Shrimp Baja appetizer is great and The bread pudding was the best I'd ever had. This location is difficult to find (They need a sign on marina bay drive)but worth it. The original Sundance in Seabrook, . . . well, if not for the panoramic sunset view, you would waste your time and money. This place is constant chaos, terrible food, lousy service(if you can even get it)one hour to get food orders and this guy who is the owner is constantly yelling at his service staff in front of guests. It's a show to say the least. They should make it a reality television show. Sundance Grill at Waterford Harbor "two thumbs up", Sundance Grill Seabrook- Don't waste your time.

MY REVIEW: I attended a Suprise Party last night at the Sundance Grill @ Waterford Harbor. The evening was a special one because my neighbor and long time friend was having his 60th birthday party there. I have been to many public and private functions over the years, but have never had a better experience with service, food and atmosphere than I did last night at this function. As a group, we gave our service staff a "standing ovation". This restaurant operation is truly first class. A great staff, very good food that has a "Wow Factor" when presented and a comfortable atmosphere. How could you ask for more.

MY REVIEW: We normally take out of town friends to Sundance because of the view. The food is average at best (when you can get it within 45 minutes), the service is "hit or miss", but it's a great place to "chill" and have a few beverages. Recently, Sundance opened a new restaurant across the lake at Waterford Harbor Marina. This place is a little difficut to find but it's well worth the search. Excellent food and service. Very romantic setting and a great place to relax and watch the marina boat activity. This will be my new place to take out of town friends. I love the new place!

MY REVIEW: Since we moved to houston 6 years ago We have been going to sundance because we love the location, they have improved the food but is little to expensive for quality. We have come to the conclusion that you pay for the view.
Service has always been good; never had to wait for meals and orders were always correct.
When we have friends or family over We always take them there. Also love the new location, can't wait for them to have some entertainment.

MY REVIEW: Have been there and was happy...went there on 10/2 for Sunday dinner and was appalled by the rude bar staff. We were told we should only sit at the bar because otherwise the service would "suck". We sat at a table anyway, and our mixed drinks were so bad we sent them back. We'll try again for the food but will call ahead and check to see who's working....

MY REVIEW: Waiter was great, funny, courteous, prompt. He took such good care of us we did not care the food took a little while to come out. He kept us informed, kept our drinks full, and simply CARED. Food was wonderful, the shrimp cooked just right, good margaritas too!
The only down side: We stopped on the way out to comment on our good time to the manager and he acted as if he could not care less! When we told him our waiter was very good (I figure they must hear complaints so we would offer a little pat on the back) he never made eye contact, kept cleaning his glasses, and muttered "He's hardly our best waiter, do you know him or something?"
I was a little surprised by his comment, but it will not keep us away.
And we will ask for the same waiter!!

MY REVIEW: This is a restaurant you to to for the view on a nice day - everything else is hit or miss - my husband and I have gone several times, and depending on your waiter, you may have a good experience or a bad experience. Last time we went, the waiter never gave us the items of the day, but the table next to us had a different waitress who did, and my husband was mad after he realized what his other options were - after he had already ordered. The waitress at the table next to us was excellent - the guy waiting on us was a bumbling Barney Fife kinda guy. But the view and live music can't be beat and that is why we go there. That is the bottom line - and much better than the Kemah Boardwalk scene.

MY REVIEW: I don't understand the rating folks are giving Sundance Grill. I was craving Chicken Picatta so I stopped by to see if things had changed drastically or something to warrant the bad reviews. The food was wonderful, salad fresh, dressing "home made", bread crispy, and of course the entree was delicious!
The service was good, attentive...food is a little slow to come out, especially at peak times, but I was not going to Sundance for fast food.
Simply put, if you want Great food with a great view...try Sundance Grill...If you want fast food...M*cDonalds in right down the street.

MY REVIEW: The view is great.....the waiter is terrible....not only did others seated after us get served before us.....but we were kept waiting for over 35 mins without salads..rolls. Upon complaining to the owner...he blew me off..." I cant help you.." the waiter told my 86 yr old father...after fourty mins that he "would bring our salads when they were ready". The lady manager did make amends to us and took 30% off...but i wouldnt go back..nor would i recommend this restaurant to anyone..the food was average. The owner should consider a different line of business....

MY REVIEW: I went hopeful that I could get a decent seafood dinner. I was seated relatively promptly but as I was alone, was not offered one of the available front and center tables. I was seated at the end of the bar, near the back corner of the room.
The waitress was prompt but also very curt; I ordered the grilled salmon, asked that it be cooked medium, and off she went. She did not inquire to see if I wanted soup, salad, appetizer or anything else. After about 20 minutes my dinner showed up. Yet again it was a dump and run maneuver. The salmon was well overcooked and far saltier than the sea itself. I suspect they must either preserve the fish by salting it or they planned on deep frying it with a 10-part salt, 1-part four batter. If I have not made my point, it tasted like a grilled salt block.
When approached with the standard “how is it” I gave the waitress a funny look and she completed my thought with “bit overcooked.” I agreed and mentioned that it was very salty. The waitress replied “sorry” and then turned and walked off.
The portion size was acceptable; but you definitely will not overeat. The dirty rice was served cold and the green beans were acceptable. The waitress showed up just in time with a drink refill, which was desperately needed to wash down the salts building up on my tongue.
I felt the waitress could have done something to improve upon the situation, but I suppose, regardless of how well I tip (I still gave 18% and often give up to 30%), a tip from one is not worth the hassle when there is a table of four next to you.
My recommendation: if you want a romantic place to sip wine on the water, try the place out. If you want a decent piece of salmon, head over to O*utback.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I visisted Sundance Grill after we saw it from the water while out boating with friends. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried, but I must say our first time to eat here was wonderful. Granted, they were not crowded at the time, so the service was excellent. But to be honest, I would not have minded slow service. Actually, I liked that we were not rushed in and out like some of the other more popular places in this area. The food was fresh and tasty...but maybe just a little overpriced. (I had the Shrimip Scampi which cost $18.95, and only came with fresh green beans and rice pilaf. It would be nice to add a soup or salad to the entree for this same price.) The hostess was very attentive to everyone coming in, trying to find the best seat with the best shade and the best view. The waitress was friendly and did not "bug us." They also had a live band (duet) singing "laid back" music which added a nice flair while we sat there enjoying our meal and watching the sunset. We will definitely go back again.
A customer from Houston.

MY REVIEW: The first time the Sundance caught my attention I was on my way home from work. I noticed an airplane pulling a sign advertising the the restaurant, which I thought was very cool! I went in the next night for dinner with a friend. I have to say the service was excellent and the food was wonderful, I recomend the Hans Cakes for appitizers.
As a native Floridian I have grown acustom to fresh seafood and I can assure you that my dinner was fresh! It was so nice to have a selection of fish, it seems everywhere else I have been the FRIED seafood platter is what people order. WHY? Those meals remind me of the fried fish sticks they served us in grade school. I have returned to the Sundance several times since then and have had a wonderful experience everytime.
