MY REVIEW: Missing my P*atu Thai fix, I stopped in here for the lunch buffet and was pleasantly surprised. They have a number of dishes on some rotating schedule, usually 3 beef/chicken/fish and 3 veg/tofu, along with Gen Tsao's chicken (skip it!), chicken satay, bbq chicken, dumplings, soup and various appetizers. The high points are the red chicken curry and the chicken basil - delicious, and my only complaint is the spice level varies each time. The appetizers are all good, but be sure to try the cheese rolls! Finish up with some fruit or tapioca. Service is friendly and adequate (although they are slow to restock the buffet, a concern if you arrive late or its crowded) and with a price of $11 including tea I thought it was a very nice deal.

MY REVIEW: A friend invited me here for dinner earlier this month and it was my first time eating Thai food. I am now a fan for life! The shrimp pad see ew was sooooo good that I've gone back 3 times in the past month to order some more!

MY REVIEW: i love their pad see ew! one of houston's best, also the tom yum soup.. mmm.. the time i order till the time i get my food is great, doesn't come out too fast and it doesn't take too long to come out. their portions are also a great size!

once i go in, theres a lot of stuff everywhere.. but it makes me feel like im right in thailand eating food. also the whole staff is very friendly and all of them are thai so it makes you feel like the food you get are very traditional (: thanks for the great service and food guys!

MY REVIEW: I have been coming here for so many years, still my favorite thai restaurant.

I have been to thailand before and there pad see ewe is so similar and delicious! I definitely recommend that dish.

Sometimes the dishes aren't spicy enough but you can always ask for the chili tray and create your own level of spice.

Great service

MY REVIEW: My wife and I were looking for another Thai restaurant in the area, but we saw this one and decided to stop. We had to be somewhere later on. We went inside and it looked unique and funky. We were seated right away. We ordered the Vietnamese shrimp spring rolls. Pad Thai and the Shrimp Curry on Jasmine Rice. The service was very good. the food came out at the right times. My problem begins with the Pad Thai:

With the first bite of the Pad Thai I could tell there was something wrong with it. It had the burned overcooked aftertaste and the noodles were oily. I pushed it aside and moved on to the curry, which was excellent. It tasted fresh and just the right amount of spice.

I asked the waiter about the Pad Thai. He tried a little and said that's the way it tastes. I have eaten at many authentic Thai restaurants. I have made Pad Thai the traditional way myself. There was something wrong with this Pad Thai!

We ended up getting the owner and man, she was rude. Instead of saying that this is how our recipe tastes and just offering to take it off the bill or switch it out for something else, she proceeded to say that we probably have been dining on Americanized versions that are not authentic. She claims that the Pad Thai is supposed to have "Wok Hay", or "Breathe of the Wok", which imparts a unique flavor to the noodles.

The problem is that "Wok Hay" flavor will dissipate will dissipate from the noodles rather quickly and you have to eat it immediately. This still tasted burned after it went cold.

My big problem was really not the food - I didn't like the taste, but she could have been better about her attitude! I couldn't believe that she made an assumption about us. She just looked at my wife and I and thought we were just a couple of inexperienced American kids with no appreciation for authentic food. Our experience with Asian food is not limited to P*ei Wei and P*anda Express! I know we both look 10 years younger than we really are, but that is no excuse.

She went on about how everyone else just puts oil in the wok and throws the noodles and chicken in before the wok is even hot. Maybe some places do that. I have had bad, bland, 'Americanized' Thai food (Thai L*emongrass in Clear Lake is one example). I know what Pad Thai is supposed to taste like. She pointed (pointed!) to other customers sitting down and said "See, other people have ordered the same thing and they are enjoying it!". Holy crap.

Eventually she took it off our bill, but we left that place annoyed that we were lectured by the owner in an attempt to make us feel like we were just not acclimated to authentic Thai cuisine.

It's not rocket science.

MY REVIEW: My girlfriend and I have been coming to this place for at least 5 years now. We really love this place. The service is outstanding and the food is great. We don't ever order off the menu though. We just stick to the buffet. I have to say though, lately we have really been disappointed in the buffet. It just seems like in the past year it has really gone downhill. They stopped making their white mushroom and tofu soup that we loved so much. They also stopped making their little egg rolls stuffed with vegies that were also delicious. Also, they always have the same thing on the buffet line. When they run out of their incredible little cheese rolls, they don't even restock them. We just think they really need to work on their buffet line.

MY REVIEW: i have been to this restaurant several times for the curries. they are excellent, although apparently they have taken gang massaman off their menu. the thai food here is very good.

however, they also do vietnamese cuisine. my wife and i recently had a craving for pho, and since there are no pho restaurants in the village area, we decided to give it a shot. the pho was terrible. there were no fresh herbs, and the broth was unbelievably bland. it was like brown water. also, there was very little meat in the dish. (compared to other pho restaurants we've eaten at.) we also ordered the vermicelli (bun), which wasn't as bad as the pho, but mediocre at best.

anyways, this place is great for thai food, but i would stay away from their vietnamese fare.

MY REVIEW: This is the BEST Thai restaurant in Houston!! G*reen Papaya in Sugar Land comes in at a close second. The spiciest dish on the menu is Lard Prik and can be made with chicken, beef or Tofu (my favorite). The soft spring rolls are fresh and come with a very tasty peanut sauce. Very vegetarian friendly and great atmosphere. Chef fried rice and Prik King also good and you must try the Thai Iced Tea. I don't recommend the buffet. Order from the menu for best flavor. The waitstaff are very friendly as well.

MY REVIEW: The atmosphere at this restaurant was excellent. The waitress was very nice. However, the buffet needed help. I was looking for Thai food, but instead, I found more like Chinese/Vietnamese mixture. The food mostly was cold and the buffet had limited variety. The only thing I thought taste good was the Thai ice tea I purchased...everything else was missing the "Thai Spice."

MY REVIEW: I lived in Thailand for 13 years. This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Houston. I have been to most of the others and they are all pretty good but I think this is the best. I disagree with an earlier review that the food is not hot enough. The spice level is indicated by the number of stars (*) next to the item and it can be adjusted per your preference. Besides the usual favorites (like Pad Thai), I highly recommend the following dishes: Yum with beef, Thai Fried Rice, Gang Panang curry, Kee Mao, and for dessert, Sweet rice with Thai Custard. I also like the casual relaxed atmosphere and great service.

MY REVIEW: Good service, and when a friend ordered vegetarion-based broth soup, they weren't hesitant to accommodate her. However, the food is fair. It wasn't as authentic enough for my taste. Food could be a little spicier when asked.
