Hunan Bo Chinese Restaurant

MY REVIEW: I went to this restaurant on my lunch break on a recommedation from two of my co-workers, I had the lunch portion of the garlic shrimp. I must say it was a very good dish for the price ($5 and some change), the decor ok and the service was good. I will continue to go back there.

MY REVIEW: Great place for a quick, inexpensive, yet tasty meal. Small place but lunch time is busy. The food is good, and the prices are unbelievable...for less than 5 bucks you have sensible portions,a soup, eggroll and tea !!! Thats right all for less than $5. With those prices I couln't help but give the waitress a good tip. Poor thing she works the tables alone and does a pretty good job, so she deserves the tips. You must try it for yourself.

MY REVIEW: No doubt the best Chinese food in Houston, especially for the money. Steamed dumplings (Andy calls them boiled and I guess he should know since he owns the joint) but they are great with the sauce. Everything else is fantastic as well. Great place for Friday nights when every other restaurant in town is packed. Always a table available and the greatest waitress in Houston. weak point is that they're closed on Sunday's.

MY REVIEW: Best Chinese food around the Heights area, hands down. Great food, friendly staff and very reasonable prices. We usually get the steamed pork dumplings, soup, chicken chow mein and the refreshing iced tea. We always go away plenty satisfied. Try it, you'll like it!

MY REVIEW: This is one chinese restaurant that satisfies everytime. Honestly, I don't trust any other restaurant in the neighborhood. Huge portions, friendly staff, and very affordable. Just wish they would deliver!

MY REVIEW: Great prices, friendly staff, they already know our usual dishes. Kid friendly. The food is great- good portions and the size of the food itself is great. I prefer smaller pieces of chicken rather than large chunks of meat like you get other places. This ensures each bite is well-seasoned and cooked. It is also clean which isn't always the case with small restaurants. Recommend.

MY REVIEW: Only authentic tasting Chinese restaurant in my neighborhood AND they don't use chicken stock or meat to cook their soups or sauces unlike almost all the other places. Always friendly and fast and very reasonable prices and portions. Just wish their menu was online :)

MY REVIEW: The Yu Shiang chicken is absolutely the best in my opinion, the sesame chicken is a close second. Everyone is very nice and very fast. I'm in and out in under 30 minutes during my lunch break. The portions have varied in my many excursions to this place. Sometimes it is so much I can hardly finish it, then other times I am left wanting more, it evens out I guess. The prices are reasonable and the food is great.

One of the really cool things about this place is the individual attention. They already know what I want to drink and that I like extra rice so I don't have to ask for it anymore, they just bring it.

Of all the chinese food places I have been to, this one is at the top. Maybe not #1, but I certainly have become attached to it.

MY REVIEW: I had the Yu Shiang fish and it was excellent. Large portions and attentive waitstaff keep me coming back for more. Very cozy, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.

MY REVIEW: I have been a customer since 1992. It has always been very clean. The service is good and the food is great. The prices are very reasonable, especially the lunch special between 11am-3pm. I've tried other chinese but none top this restaurant.

MY REVIEW: This place overall has great food. Prices are VERY reasonable for the portion sizes (large!). If you are a general tso's chicken fan-try their sesame chicken-you can ask to leave the seeds off-sounds stupid, but trust me on this one-this stuff is awesome! Oh, and their lunch specials-how many places can you still walk out paying $6 for lunch, drink, tip?? You can here, and have a great meal and leave full. Im sooo glad we live around the corner :)

MY REVIEW: Lucky us! We live in Chef Hunan Bo's neighborhood! Good food, I thought the portions were more than adequate. Excellent hot-and-sour soup, mu shu chicken and try the sesame chicken....YUM!

MY REVIEW: I have been coming to this restaurant since I was 11 I am now 21. The food is great, not to mention their Wonton soup it is the BEST! I love their rice because they dont put all that extra veggies and sprouts. I have not been able to find another Chinese restaurant to top Hunan Bo. I guess their weak point would be that I have to travel 30 minutes to get their, but its worth it.

MY REVIEW: Tiny portions. Food is just OK... nothing special to speak of. If you are into spicy foods (like myself) you will be happier elsewhere. Even when you ask them to jack up the spiciness, you wonder if something gets lost in the translation.

MY REVIEW: Strong points: Cleanliness, excellent and attendant service, very tasteful.

Weak points: Proportions could be increased.

I guess quality over quantity prevails in this situation, but otherwise everything is A++.
