MY REVIEW: This place has wonderful grilled and fried seafood. The shrimp and catfish are always fresh. I like knowing the fish is farm-raised in the U.S. and not imported from China like other restaurants in the area. You can really tell the difference in taste and texture. The seafood fondue appetizer and fried catfish are the best in town! The batter is so light and crispy. My husband and I also love the fried green tomatoes.

MY REVIEW: Caught a Tuesday special: all you can eat fried catfish & shrimp. They also offer grilled. Not cheap @ nearly $18, but they cheerfully brought more when we requested. It was mid-afternoon and neither of us had breakfast so we opted for the more expensive all you can eat, but there were lunch specials available in the $7-8 range.
Their fried catfish & shrimp are very good here. In place of slaw, fries and beans, I substituted green beans & garlic mashed potatoes--both are good choices. Above average complimentary hush puppies.
Service was attentive and the place was clean. Heck, I like Sudie's.

MY REVIEW: The Shrimp BLT, Seafood Fondue, and steamed vegetables were delicious. My husband and I stopped in for lunch and are really glad we did. Our server Troy was excellent and the place was clean. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area for my husband's doctor appointments.

MY REVIEW: it's been a long time since my husband and i were at sudies but this will be out last. everything was tasteless with no flavor or seasoning, just bland tasting. if you want really good seafood and/or fish go down the road to p*appas or f*loyds. and another weak point was that even though there were few people there the table next to ours hadn't been cleaned from the last customers and we there for almost 45 minutes... not a good sign.

MY REVIEW: In the past we haven't had good luck with their grilled fish dishes with seafood sauces, but on our last visit my wife really enjoyed their Salmon Picatta. Still, this is one of the places where I know the fried seafood is always reliable. But wish they would get a better tartar sauce recipe (like they serve at C*asey's in Galveston).

MY REVIEW: There was a 30 minute wait at F*loyd's on this cold, windy Saturday afternoon in March---so we went down one exit to Sudie's where we were seated immediately. Appetizers of fried green tomatoes and fried pickles were perfect. In my opinion, they do fried catfish better than anyone. And are up there with some of the best seafood houses in the Bay Area when it comes to fried shrimp, oysters and scallops. Haven't had as good of luck in the past with grilled fish topped with seafood sauces (such as etouffe & Jackson sauce---I think P*appas does a better job with sauces).

MY REVIEW: This place has the best fried catfish in all of Texas. There's only one other place along the entire Gulf Coast that has better fish. The food quality and service is superb. The staff is well trained and very attentive. We had the roasted corn and crawfish soup, fried catfish platter and fried shrimp platter. It was all delicious. The vegetables taste fresh and are well prepared. We will definitely be back many times, especially during the Lenten season. You can beat the value. We also love B*ailey's in Seabrook, the sister restaurant.

MY REVIEW: First time to Sudies and i deff will be going back. I had the fried oyster and shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes and brocoli with cheese. My partner had the fried shrimp with green beans and brocoli. We ordered the fried pickles for an appetizer and they were freakin great! The shrimp were huge, the mashed potatoes were so creamy, the brocoli was cooked to perfection, and the margaritas were pretty good for $2.00 happy hour price. This place is a must!

MY REVIEW: Fried shrimp were huge and cooked to perfection. Catfish never dissapoints. Coleslaw is still too bitter and dry for my tastes, but beans were not over salted this time. Fried scallops rounded out my Sudie's Trio dish, and they were just great. Another in our party ordered stuffed crabs (3) and said they were barely ok. Waiter said all deserts are made on premises. Cheesecake was a better choice than the too-dry bread pudding.

MY REVIEW: catfish was second best i've had in houston and the pinto beans were downright addictive.
the cole slaw was awful and the fries were soggy, but the real complaint is the barren widowless dining room complete with uncomfortable chairs and wobbly tables. Downright creepy. this place might be okay for lunch if you are gonna pig out on cat filets, but for atmosphere it gets a "F" from me

MY REVIEW: Back again for some of the most reliable fried shrimp and catfish anywhere. This time, however, instead of going with the "Sudie's Way" sides (cole slaw, beans & fries), we opted for green beans and garlic mashed potatoes. I'm not fond of their too-bitter coleslaw and too-salty beans, but they would've been better than what got. The green beans were spongy and tasteless despite onions and alot of bacon that was just thrown in to boil. Might've been good if bacon and onions had been browned before the green beens went in. Garlic mashed potatoes were luke warm at best and stiff---an easy fix if you've spent at least 5 minutes in a kitchen. How can a kitchen that does fried seafood so well permit sides to be as bad as these were????

MY REVIEW: Took Mom there for Mothers Day.I live in Houston west side and always wanted to try this place. The food was great!I had the catfish dinner with the "sudie sides" and Mom and Aunt had the combination catfish, shrimp and oysters. Everything was fresh. We were seated promptly and service was great. Very attractive dining room too.
Looking forward to my next visit!

MY REVIEW: Cole slaw has a bitter taste and beans are usually too salty, but most other sides I've had are good. But the reason to come to Sudie's is fried seafood. Fried catfish, shrimp and scallops are some of the best around-----better tasting and less costly than K*emah Boardwalk.

MY REVIEW: This is the best Sudie's location! I love the down-home feel and the staff and management are wonderful. Makes me feel like I am at home when I don't want to cook at home. My favorite are the fried shrimp and of course the catfish.
