MY REVIEW: We were there on a Fri. when it was 96 outside. Service was excellent. Food was very good, as always. And the margaritas were actually better than last time. Los C*ucos is just gone so far downhill, we found Lupe's to be far superior. And the prices are reasonable. They even seated us quicker than what we were told. Don't pass them up. It is good.

MY REVIEW: After reading all of the reviews of Lupe Tortilla, I thought I would add my two cents. There are certainly a lot of "cons" about this restaurant, in my opinion, and they have been well stated in all of the other reviews: the food is too pricey, the service is touch-and-go, it is ALWAYS much too crowded to hear yourself think. Besides this, most of the food is pretty terrible -- it's like they tried to change their recipes to stand out from other Tex-Mex/Mexican restaurants but got lost somewhere along the way and now everything just tastes weird.
However. If you enjoy fajitas and are a breathing human being, you will LOVE the beef fajitas at Lupe. The chicken ones are so-so and I've never tried the shrimp, but the beef ones are absolutely to die for. The last time we were there we actually asked the manager why they were so good, and he said it was because they soak them in lime for hours and hours. You can definitely tell - they are DELICIOUS. The only drawback is the price ($30 for 2!!!), but if you can stomach that, definitely go and get them. As a side note, the tortillas are huge and excellent, and the margaritas (contrary to some of the other reviews on here) are really pretty good. Not the best, but not bad, either.
So, to sum up, if you don't like beef fajitas, I wouldn't suggest that you bother with this restaurant. If you do, eat there tonight. And then tomorrow, and then the next day.

MY REVIEW: I really want to like this restaurant, but it's so darn expensive that we won't go back. There are too many affordable Mexican restaurants around for me to justify eating there again.

MY REVIEW: I’m not a huge Mexican food fan but I am a fajita fanatic. This place has the best fajitas I have ever had. There is just something about their flower tortillas that is incredible. They are buttery I want to say. The meat (chicken or beef) is seasoned to perfection. I love it! Anyhow, I don’t know about their other stuff but if you are looking for a great flavor fajita, this is it. My service experience was fine but if it was slow I would be patient for those fajitas. Oh and they give you plenty of guacamole and sour cream. This is very important.

MY REVIEW: Overall - Mediocre mexican food at exorbitant prices.
Strong point - The only strong point about this restaurant was the hot sauce. it was chunky & hot, but not too hot. Other than that, everything was horrible.
Weak Points - Let's start with the service. It was inattentive, clumsy & slow. Our party of three got there and was told it would be 10 minutes. It took 30. When we finally sat down, it took the waiter 15 minutes to find us and take our drink order, and at least that long for him to return with the first round of drinks. One of the people at our table ordered quesadilla's with fajita chicken, when it came out it was beef. It took 10-15 minutes to fix her order and bring it back. When we were ready to leave we couldn't get our waiter to bring the check. Also, we asked for a to-go container & more salsa & sour cream to take home with it. They brought both, but in the 5 minutes I was in the bathroom, someone elxe came by and scooped up the full containers of toppings as they cleaned off the table.
Entrees - Chicken fajita was ok, but on par with a place like R*uchi's or taqueria A*randas...except p*appasito's prices.

MY REVIEW: When we arrived it was very crowded so we thought, "Wow. This place must be good". Turned out the crowd turned to be a school function, so we understood why our service was slow, but that's the only thing I could understand. I couldn't understand how two meals and two drinks added up to nearly forty dollars-even when the meals were only about $8 apiece. I didn't order anything but a side of rice and beans which turned out to be $3 each! My sibs both ordered the enchilada dinners and both of them barely picked at their food. My sister even described her enchiladas tasting just like, "microwaved cheese and store-brand tortillas". My beans and rice were loaded with bacon (I'm a vegetarian, so this was a huge upset) and they were cold. The salsa was alright, but it had too many vegetables and not enough actual sauce. We never got a refill on chips either.
Needless to say, we will never eat here again. It's too over-priced for food that isn't even that good.

MY REVIEW: We went right after work at 5:00 and they immediately sat us down. The margaritas are really good. That's no surprise since it is a Mexican restaurant. The beef fajitas were some of the best I've ever had. The flavor was incredible. Char grilled also. The fajitas for one were $16. A little expensive but well worth it. It was nice to actually be able to taste the food. You need to go there and you must order the beef fajitas. Great place!

MY REVIEW: I have dined at Lupe Tortilla’s on many occasions. I always order the large order of 1/2 chicken, 1/2 beef fajita's. On my last visit, I dined with one other person and decided on ordering the large and if any were left over, we agreed one of us would take them home. When the large sizzling platter arrived, the portion was so small that I asked the server if this was the half or full size order. The server replied - yes; it was the large order. I requested that a manager come over and see our portion size before we started eating. The manager promptly appeared and I stated there are not enough fajita’s for four(4)taco's. The manager stated Lupe’s recently reduced their serving portions to 7 oz of each meat. I believe the price for the full order with sides was $27.95 - $29.95. Due to the price increase and reduced portions, I will go to another Mexican food restaurant where I get a better value for fajita's. I still enjoy their food, but - the price is driving me away. I hope they reconsider increasing the portion size since skirt steak has not increased that significantly.

MY REVIEW: I'm pretty sure they drug the fajitas because I have become a full fledged addict. (Also, much like chocolate, it must boost endorphins to give you that feeling of well being.) Yeah, okay, I like the fajitas a lot and hide my empty to-go bags and left over dried tortillia skins from family members who are worried about me.
Don't miss it.

MY REVIEW: This is my absolute favorite Tex-Mex eatery. Their lime pepper fajita steaks are outstanding. We have Saturday lunch at their Woodlands/Shenandoah location about once a month and have never been disappointed. Their "Three Pepper Cheese Steak" always rewards me with a delightful teary-eyed capsaicin high. Dang good eatin', if you ask me.

MY REVIEW: Well I have to say that I am thoroughly disappointed! For some reason this location (318 Stafford) is a bit arrogant or at least the waiters are. Yes your food is good but poor service can easily affect the experience. The SUGARLAND location is hands down the best between the two and I will certainly make the drive out because I will not continue to give these LOSERS my money.
Strong points: Good Fajita, chips, salsa and bean dip
Weak points: SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE, Pricey for the crappy service, the location is too cramped for the business, the tables are wobbly, and it takes too long for the food to be served!
HORRBILE SERVICE, if you like spending your money and being treated like crap, visit the location at Hwy 6 and I-10.

MY REVIEW: We live in North Texas and visit Houston several times a year each time we make it a point to eat at Lupe Tortilla. The fajitas are the best the tangy lime taste is the wonderful, I crave these fajitas from 400 miles away. The beans they bring before the meal are the best I eat them with a fork. My husband loves the bacon wrapped shrimp and the price is worth it. I believe you get what you pay for there may be a lot of Mexican restaurants out there but none have the appeal and quality of Lupe's. If I had my way I would have them open one in Dallas area. I don't know who had the bad experience at the other location, but you should go back and give them another try I've never had a bad margarita well never a strawberry one anyways. My family loves Lupe's and we'll continue to stop by when were in Houston visiting family. Build in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

MY REVIEW: Our last visit to Lupe Tortillas was truly our last. The fajitas were the worst we have ever had anywhere in Houston. The meat was the texture of minute steak, had an overly sour taste, and was burned. The price of $33 added insult to injury. The Margaritas were weak and the service slow and indifferent. Plus, we had to endure screaming, crying children at almost every table. There are too many really good Mexican restaurants to ever go back.

MY REVIEW: We love it. Great food. Try the fajitas, and get the bacon wrapped shrimp, you won't be sorry. Have a Margarita - great. Crowded, get there early. Wonderful fajita salad. Queso and chips are best in town. Good service. Pricey.
Will recommend to anyone.

MY REVIEW: Have been to this location several times since the beginning. I eat out at least once a day, every day. The service was very casual and the fajitas were above average as always.
What prompted me to write a review was the sense of sticker shock when I found out fajitas for two are now $33 and you get such a small portion, less than a pound, that you feel guilty taking the meat off the platter. Short of lunch in a premium hotel, it is hard to spend $45.00 for two with only two soft drinks. At some point, even I, "The Tolerant One" will scream "no mas!".

MY REVIEW: Excellent Mexican food. This is the best Clear Lake has to offer. We have shopped around and you cannot beat the variety or flavor at Lupe's. They use a lot of lime on their steak, we love it. The restaurant gets loud at times...that's because there is ALWAYS A CROWD. That's a good thing. This message is approved by MY WIFE.

MY REVIEW: Lupes is great! They marinate the fajitas in lime overnight . They come on a sizzling platter and just melt in your mouth! The tortillas are handmade, and they bring fresh produce daily. As a native Houstonian. I have to say they have the best fajitas in town!!! The wait's terrible though. Id suggest going before/after lunch or dinner.

MY REVIEW: Many years ago, my wife and I frequented a very busy and popular Mexican restaurant, off the Katy freeway and somewhat near to our apartment at the time, called Lupe Tortilla. We loved to sip their frozen margaritas, served from a satellite bar on the outside deck, while we waited sometimes as long as an hour for our table. We felt it was worth the wait, because their food was hands down our favorite of any Mexican restaurant we had tried at the time. And we had tried a lot of them. It had been a few years since our last visit, since we had moved away from the area, but a couple of weeks ago we went there for lunch, to revisit old times and to again have the excellent food we so fondly remembered. We were deeply disappointed. Their menu is not as diverse as it seems it used to be, and the food we were served was ordinary, no different (and in fact not as good) from any other place we currently frequent. Perhaps better restaurants in general have cropped up in the intervening years, and perhaps our tastes have evolved away from what we used to think was great Mexican food. Maybe we were just young and easily impressed, and it never was all that great. It certainly isn’t now.
