MY REVIEW: We were there for dinner and had the mozzarella chess sticks with marinara sauce appetizer. They were great. We had a gyro sandwich and the Greek Combo plate. All of the food was very good as was the service. We ate greek but the menu also has American classics like grilled cheese and cheese burgers. Overall, a nice neighborhood comfort food destination.

MY REVIEW: Had not been on West Gray for years and saw this place as I was on my way downtown. I stopped for breakfast. Nice atmosphere, you can sit inside or in AC'd porch. No complaints about service. Large portions but unsatisfactory meal.
The french toast was tasteless as was the syrup. The eggs, sunny side-up, were runny, too runny. The sausage patties were good, 4 big patties, but a tad over cooked. Coffee was fine. I would not go back.

MY REVIEW: Food was ok but the service was terrible. It was a Sunday afternoon and not that busy. We had to wait about 15 minutes to order. The waitress was not very good about keeping our coffee cups full. There was also a lot of dirty dishes on the table around us just sitting there and not removed. The food was ok and the prices reasonable, but with service this bad, I won't be back.

MY REVIEW: Last weekend is the first time I have ever been to this restaurant because I live in Austin and don't often frequent Houston. I went for breakfast so I can't comment on the drink service but the food service was excellent. The amount of food was much more than I had anticipated and the quality was very good. The biggest shock came when I got the bill and breakfast for two set me back a mere $15 bucks. You Houston yuppies crack me up. This place was about as much like I*HOP as the C*ontinetal Club is like T*GIF. Both restaurants have pancakes on the menu and both bars serve beer. The comparison ends there.

MY REVIEW: After reading all of the bad reviews, I am shocked. I used to live down the street, and the people in there really did know my name! The place was always clean, and the service was excellent. The food is not for dieters! It is old fashioned comfort food. Ok, someitmes the service was kind of off, but 99.9% of the time it was great. I really need to get back over to that side town again and eat!

MY REVIEW: People who don't like this place don't like food, comfort, amiable ambience or much of anything else worthwhile. As for not being clean, that is utter nonsense. It is squeaky clean, both in the dining room and in the kitchen. As for the stray cat, it is a direct import from Heaven and knows where good food is to be found. Have you ever been to Italy?

MY REVIEW: In one word: yuck. Terrible service, nothing was clean and I left most of my meal on my plate while I paid the bill. There is no way I will be back.

MY REVIEW: Having been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, I'm fearful of eating out often because of poor service that might plague my experience. Such was my misfortune during my first visit to this quaint, comfortable cafe. I loved the "Cheers" like ambience and especially enjoyed the patio on this beautiful day. But that's where it stopped. I'll give you a timeline: 10 minutes to get my drink, shortly after that I received my menu, 20 minutes to get my breakfast, and 10 minutes to get a checkback on how the food was (no wait, that must have been another place because I didn't even receive a checkback.) Summary: nice environment, slow service, & luke-warm, mediocre food (powdered gravy is not my thing.) I might have let them know of their shortcomings had the waitress informed me of her name. It's going to take some convincing and someone else paying the tab to get me back.

MY REVIEW: While this 'cafe' is open 24-hours a day, that's pretty much all it's got going for it. The food was I*HOP style, and I*HOP quality, but pricier than I*HOP, and the service was pretty terrible. Our waitress was icy and greeted our entry with an unflinching stare. We sat on the front porch, where we were greeted by stray cats, which, while charming in its own way, was mostly kind of odd.
Also, the beer prices seem to have changed from the menu, be sure to ask if you do decide to go. Anyway, there's a reason why the H*ouse of Pies is packed and this place is not. And there was no live music, by any stretch of the imagination.

MY REVIEW: A great find for late night dining, its open 24 hrs. i couldn't believe it. the food is suprisingly good too, and not for much more than eye-hop. the staff is a little oerbearing though, eventually they backed off a little. great calamari.

MY REVIEW: I go there all of the time. The food is good. The prices are reasonable. They are going to have live music starting in March. At night. Blues and jazz, mostly.
They recently got a charcoal grill, so don't be afraid to order a steak. You will be missing a real treat.

MY REVIEW: Nice cozy cafe style restaurant, it seems as though everyone knows everyone else there. It's a nice place to have coffee & read a book. I tried their Bloody Mary's & they were excellent- homemade. The Chocholate Fudge cake is to die for- also homemade. I would recommend this nice comfy restaurant to anyone whethers its breakfast, lunch or dinner- they're open 24hours. The prices are extremely cheap- for that part of town!!!

MY REVIEW: I've been conducting business in the area and stopped by several times. I overheard that they were planning on changing ownership this summer and would bring in fresh new ideas. The food was excellent- home cooked food- the cook certainly has experience. The atmosphere was great- for a cafe!
