MY REVIEW: This place is a gem! My friends and I have been going to Tay Do since they were located in Diho Square. I've enjoyed every dish I've had there, I really like the Beef Underdone (which to me is a very tasty salad), I love the Beef Chow Fun noodles. Tay Do also has a special shrimp eggroll that you eat by wrapping in fresh vegetables and a sweet dipping sauce. Chinese/ Vietnamese food is to die for here!

MY REVIEW: This place is very good! Everything from the menu is fresh, delicious and quickly made. My favorite dish is their medium rare cubed steak(mMmMmM, getting the munchies just thinking about this) My friends and family over the years have patronized Tay Do and for good reason, "Excellent Food!"

MY REVIEW: This is by far one of the best Chinese Resturants in Houston. I placed a take out order. The Po Po Platter was excellent. I loved the Shrimp Toast, Chicken Wings, Crab Puffs, BBQ pork ribs, Egg Rolls, YUMMY in my tummy..The Shrimp with Lobster sauce was the best I have ever had. All my food was hot and was ready in 15 min's just like they said it would be. I will look foward to eating here again, and again, and again....

MY REVIEW: Just want everyone to be aware that Taydo has started charging for soft drink refills. I have gone there many times and my drinks are always refilled for free, but this last time I went back they started charging for refills without telling us or posting it on the menu. Food is good.

MY REVIEW: Excellent! I had the Beef underdone mixed with lemon sauce. The won-ton soup and the fried squid were the best I have ever had.

MY REVIEW: Went with a group of ladies on a Saturday afternoon when it was not crowded. Charged for iced tea I did not order. Mediocre food. Service mediocre at best. Servers didn't even place the food at our places, but tried to toss it on the lazy susan and let us guess who got what. We had been promised separate checks when the reservation was made - and confirmed this when we started to order. At the end, no separate checks and attitude. Could not pay me to return.

MY REVIEW: I love the Vietnamese menu here. I recommend the lemon grass charcoal broiled beef, which comes with lots of freash salad to wrap it with. Also the fried squid over watercress salad with citrus vinaigrette. The satay seafood hotpot was great, as was the Pho.
Service is spotty, but adequate.
Food is fresh and tasty, but haven't tried Chinese items.
Recommended for a foodie adventurer!

MY REVIEW: I love Tay Do. Their General's Chicken and Tempura Soft Shell Crab [probably not the correct menu name] are two of my favorite dishes. Tay Do is always my family's trusty choice of restaurants for Vietnamese food. (we're Vietnamese)

MY REVIEW: This was my 3rd time going there. Not really by choice, but my friends wanted to go.
The service is mediocre at best. Some of the staff seems rather snobby and they did not care much as long as you pay.
The food was alright. Nothing out of the ordinary. I'm pretty sure most Asians would agree with me. After having many authentic dishes at other places, Tay Do seems to be quite average. Give it a shot if you're new to Asian dishes. If you're already pretty familiar with Vietnamese dishes, go spend your money somewhere else.

MY REVIEW: I've been a loyal customer with them for many years and the food and service is always consistent: The food is always excellent, and comes out quickly. The waitstaff is polite and quiet, but lackadaisical at best. And if you're one of those people who needs a waiter to hold their hand, chat you up, or refill your drink every 2 minutes during your meal meal then this place is not for you. I wouldn't recommend for a date-nite because of the service, but if you want excellent Vietnamese food at a decent price, served quickly and hot, then this is the place.
I would recommend the Vietnamese eggrolls (if you've never had them, have your waiter explain how to eat them... I see people in there all the time who never experience the entirety of the appetizer because they don't ask).
I usually get one of the Clay Pots. I personally think they're the best thing on the menu, and if you're new to Vietnamese, it's a good starter. There's three, they're all delicious, just pick the one that's right for you. One has chicken, one has froglegs with chicken, and the other is a combination chicken, beef and shrimp.

MY REVIEW: Nice place, nice lighting, and clean etc. Food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. It was decent, like food you get at any other Asian place.
The only downside and it affected the way we felt, was the staff that was helping us. I would be thirsty for a few minutes until the next time they came by. I would be ok if they came and checked up on us like every now and then, but they didn't even do that. It was hard to flag them down. It wasn't even crowded. Seriously we had a lot of people with us, and with a large group like that, you would think someone would check on us, but the only time we got refills was when they brought out our food. When I say check on us, I don't mean every few minutes, but like no one even looked our way. It wasn't because I ordered water either, because people got sodas too.

MY REVIEW: Strong Points: - nice location - food was okay
Weak points: - Slow refills - received and paid for seaweed soup that we did not order - seated our group (15 ppl or so) at 2 round tables - bad service (angry lady, no checkups, etc)

MY REVIEW: Don't worry about any of the "so-so" reviews about Tay Do. The food is fantastic and if you just take the time to try to communicate with the staff you will reap the rewards. (They may not all speak English as well as I do, but I can't speak their languages at all!)
The soft shell crab is my all-time favorite. I try it everywhere I go and always end up comparing what I get to Tay Do's version, and Tay Do is still #1 on my list.
The frog legs, jellyfish, lobster, duck, crab... well EVERYTHING is great. The only time I was even slightly disappointed was when I decided to try one of the standard American-Chinese lunch dishes. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't as good as the "authentic" dishes.
Don't wait, try Tay Do's as soon as you can.

MY REVIEW: One of my favorite restaurants of all-time. The #18 Soft-shell crab in special butter sauce is phenominal and I have turned many people onto non-mainstream Asian cuisine (ie not sweet & sour or beef with broccoli) through use of that dish. Although the servers are a little slow on the refills, they're very helpful. I come from the whitest of white suburbs and it's not unusual for the server to instruct me on how to eat something I've never had - it really adds to the experience when you eat something the way it was intended (in short, wash your hands and lose the utensils people because you're missing out).

MY REVIEW: I like this restaurant very much. The prices are quite reasonable and the portions are generous. Contrary to some of the other reviews, I find the Chinese far better than most other Chinese restaurants I've visited in Houston. The Vietnamese dishes are outstanding, but my wife doesn't care for Vietnamese food ... so. The service could be better, but is entirely adequate. It's usually because the wait person doesn't speak English very well and gets instructions mixed up. I can deal with that. Just be really specific in what you're asking for.
