MY REVIEW: I don't know about the menu offerings but the buffet was a real let down. Everyting was bland, over cooked and boring. I guess we need to try the actual menu offerings but if the buffet was representative, we may not make it back.
Pales in comparison to Thai C*ottage.

MY REVIEW: We arrived at 11:45 am. Food on buffet table is stone cold. Soup is lukewarm. No plan to go back.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I have eaten there many time over the past 3-4 years and thought the food was great. Now the last two visits there have been very disappointing. On our last visit the Pad Thai noodles were like paste from overcooking and the beef was scorched and tasteless. Had to send the wine back also as it was old. While the service was good we will find somewhere else to enjoy good Thai Food.

MY REVIEW: Four of us went for lunch and each of us enjoyed the food and the experience. Items on the lunch menu include Salad and soup. The salad dressing was unusually spicy and delicious. The hot and sour soup was tasty, but not unusual.
the menu had several items with a choice of chicken, beef, or tofu as well as several items that were self contained. I had the crispy snapper topped with eggplant and it was more food than I could eat. One of us had a curry dish, one a pad thai and one a chicken dish with green stuff in it. They were all beautifully presented.
When we entered we asked the waiter if there would be any problem ordering and getting out in 35 minutes and he accommodated us very nicely.
I'm definitely going back.

MY REVIEW: The Pearland location has excellent food and service. The pad thai was the best I have had. Our waiter was excellent. The lunches came with spring rolls and a wonderful coconut curry soup with chicken and ginger. Our waiter even refilled the soup. There were no negatives - the experience and the food were superb. Will definitely go back. Much better food than Heights location.

MY REVIEW: In spite of the last review we decided to try this place, as we like the Thai Spice in Rice Village. The menu is different here but were pleasantly surprised by its variety and adventurousness. The atmosphere is better than the one in the village (more light) and the food just as good (it must have improved since they opened).
The waitress didn’t speak enough English to tell us about the novelties in the menu like the Dragon Rolls or entrees such as ‘Tiger Cried’ served with ‘madly’ hot sauce or Drunken Chicken with rice wine, so we stuck to the traditional Chicken Sate and Pad Thai for a first try. They were both tasty and well cooked. I also had a delicious chicken coconut milk soup with lime and would have ended with a a tapioca or mango dessert, but we’ll leave it for next time--We’ll be back for sure!

MY REVIEW: I haven't been to this location in probably a year and a half. It used to be my favorite Thai restaurant. I was so disappointed in how much it has changed. The food was extremely unappetizing. The sauces were watered down, or extremely sour. The steamed dumplings tasted like glue. There is no longer a warming tray for the crispy spring rolls and they were cold. The wait staff never smiled and never came to refill my water glass. I will not go back there again; it is not the same. What a shame!

MY REVIEW: This was our first and last visit to the new Thai Spice restaurant in Pearland. The dinner started out ok with a tasty Satay appetizer, but the rest of the meal was bland and undercooked. We left disappointed.

MY REVIEW: Boy, we should have guessed the food would have been different when we saw all this gaudy modern art on the walls! The waiter spoke really bad English. Our hot and sour soups were just strangely sour soups. Our shrimp dumplings tasted like they had been microwaved after being frozen. My companion's beef plate looked like dog food, and my pad thai was so bland that I thought I was eating tofu. The presentations of everything looked sloppy. To top it off, the fortune cookies were stale! They must have a new chef so I recommend running and don't come back. It was the worse Thai food experience ever, and the prices are not even reasonable. We used to actually like this place. I won't be back! Did I mention that the bathroom was filthy too?

MY REVIEW: Food has gone downhill in quality. We haven't come to this Thai Spice since maybe last summer, after finding the Thai Spice BUFFET on Westheimer. For almost the same cost we get a whole lot more variety as well as better food at the Westheimer buffet, than on this Kelvin's restaurant's tiny buffet. Plus, my 5 yr old eats free at the Westheimer buffet but not at the Kelvin restaurant. We only went to the Kelvin one because we were going to shop nearby; otherwise we would've gone to Westheimer. We won't be coming back to this Kelvin restaurant.

MY REVIEW: I hosted a bridal shower dinner for 11 ladies on a Tuesday evening. I was so impressed! Everything I had requested was done to perfection. The table was ready to decorate at the specified time and the waitstaff was constantly checking to see if I needed anything. I preordered 2 appetizers and 4 entrees and they were served family style down a long banquet table. They kept our wine and water glasses full throughout the meal and provided extras necessary for the cake that I brought in for the shower. Also, a small area was reserved for us to gather the gifts and cake while we were eating and toasting the bride without any other patrons in the general area. All my guests were very pleased with the food and especially the service. Then they packed up the leftover food, so my husband could enjoy it when I arrived home. I was nervous at first about having a group dinner here, because I had only eaten at this location once before, but everything was satisfactory then, and it was a convenient location for the guests attending. I would especially like to thank the manager, Paul, and Wasana, a valued member of the waitstaff for making that evening truly special.

MY REVIEW: I USED to love this place and go there once a week -- but something has changed. Notice all good reviews are from 2007. . . that's about when it started going downhill. Went there for lunch with a friend and although I thought the food was better than it has been recently, the service was terrible.
The server seemed very bothered to have to wait on us and rushed us through our meal. She even brought the check before we finished eating! What if we had wanted dessert?? We actually did want coffee and she was pretty pissed that we then ordered it. She crumpled up the bill and sighed as she walked back to the kitchen. We politely asked if she would like us to pay the bill so she could close the register or something. She answered rather rudely that she did and grabbed our credit card. Let me point out that we were not the only people in the restaurant. There were 3 other tables and it was about 2 pm. We were there for one hour. After we paid, she sat down at a table nearby and scarfed down food with some other employees. I mean, it is not my problem if my meal interrupts yours, Miss Server -- if it is, then why are you working? Clock out and eat, for God's sake! Give me a new server!
Needless to say, I will not be returning soon. It's unfortunate, because it used to be so good and the people there were friendly. Thai Spice would be smart not to treat their patrons this way. They had a great thing going, but there has been a noticeable difference in the service and food this past year. Too bad.

MY REVIEW: i made my first visit here for the dining out for life last evening. it was great! i can't wait to go back. we were in a large party with around 15 people and everything was really good. service was good, food was great! they even split our checks without any problems. our waitress was attentive for having such a large party. i ordered the drunken chicken and it had just enough kick to keep you from sweating. i topped that off with the sticky rice and custard for dessert. it was great! some of the best thai i've had. the pricing was also very good for the portion size. i definitely can see this becoming one of my neighbhorhood hangouts!

MY REVIEW: I've had the food from Thai Spice three times now and each time it gets worse. The most recent time I ordered my food to go and they forgot my rice which really agitated me because the ginger chicken that the rice was supposed to go with was over-cooked and too dry.
The chicken sate is very good I must say as are the sauces that accompany it. The egg drop soup with chicken has peas and carrots which is obviously not very authentic and ruins the taste.
The seaweed sesame salad was obviously bought frozen and not made fresh but this was tasty.
I was disappointed in the service because the only person that was available to talk to me was the Hispanic waiter that didn't speak English. And when I ordered my meal the woman behind the counter didn't even understand English and made the ordering process very difficult.

MY REVIEW: Great ambience (I love tablecloths)
Great food with lots of fishaterian options (we eat fish but no meat, chicken, pork or beef). They had at least two very tasty tofu dishes among the various dishes of seafood, beef, chicken and pork. I loved the fresh taste and all the veggies (which aren't overcooked.)
The spring rolls were vegetarian and they had several seafood entrees on the buffet as well. Spring rolls could have used some more cilantro (but then some people hate cilantro, don't they?)
I loved the vegetable broth/soup on the buffet. Couldn't get enough. They had some vegetarian sushi and some dumplings but the dumplings were chicken so we didn't try. They even provided rice in either white or brown, that is a first for me at an Asian restaurant. They had some kind of dessert options, maybe some type of pudding but we didn't try it.
Very nice decor, stylish and clean.
Good service (though with the buffet, can't really say how good it might be with full service)
Yes, we saw the balcony and it looked like it would be inviting on a nice day (we walked a mile and a half to the restaurant so we preferred air conditioning today.) They even have some benches downstairs, out front where there was a couple eating with their dog along side. Interesting idea (though our dog or dogs shall I say would be way too disruptive, LOL).
Definitely a keeper. It has been a while since we visited a restaurant where we were so quick and delighted to add it to our list of good restaurants that we like to revisit.
Did I forget to say that the price was excellent. Our bill was $21 which was for two (lunch) buffets and ice tea for two.
We used a stairway to get to the restaurant upstairs. They must have an elevator somewhere but it wasn't obvious where. If you need an elevator for stairs, you might call ahead and check.
