New York Bagel Shop

MY REVIEW: SERIOUSLY!!!! I have never been to a bagel shop that will NOT cut or cream cheese your bagel....then they told me to bring it next door to the diner and they would cut it....went next door and they told me(even though they have a door connecting). That they would not cut my bagel unless I bought it there...Two thumbs down! When I go out for food I don't want to work for it!

ED AND JAY THE BROTHERS-IN-LAW DO A GREAT JOB OF GREETING EVERYONE,MOST BY FIRST NAME, ARE ALWAYS ON THE JOB TO SEE THAT YOU'RE WELL TAKEN CARE OF WHILE YOU'RE THERE.

GOOD FOOD AND THE BEST BAGELS ANYWHERE IN HOUSTON.

MY REVIEW: If you are looking for an old fashioned "coffee shop" atmosphere with the best bagels in town, rush on over to the bagel shop. I'm not old enough to remember the old coffee shops however, once you step into this restaurant, you are treated to the decor of decades ago. Service is similar to what you might get in New York, fast (most of the time) and not the friendliest. However, the food is great.

I've only had breakfasts there and usually get a omellette which comes with choice of potatoe (I get crispy home fries. You can also get hash browns, french fries, home fries or a potatoe pancake.) You also get your choice of bread. Don't miss out on their bagels. The food is plentiful, the prices are cheap and the decor is charming. Expect to wait on Sunday mornings.

MY REVIEW: Wonderful family owned restaurant. Reasonable prices. On week-ends and holidays, it can be very busy.

Their ET (everything) bagel is outstanding. I also like to go next door and order some bagels to take home and some toasted bagel chips.

MY REVIEW: I've been going here pretty regularly since I was a kid (about 15 years now) and the bagels are delicious! However, my favorite item that they sell is their Challa. Their egg bread is golden, slightly sweet and has a great crust... it's almost like eating cake. If you have never tried it, order one and try for yourself, unless you hate bread products I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

MY REVIEW: Just to clarify that only the bakery is kosher, the coffee shop is NOT kosher. Bagels are the best bagels in the entire world, even better than in NYC.

MY REVIEW: The bakery has the best variety of fresh bagels in the city. The bagels have a distinctive taste along with other bakery items such as strudel. The coffee shop is busy, the staff attentive and the food is delicious. If you like fresh fish order the "fish box" you'll get your choice of three bagels and three choices of fresh fish. It is to die for!!! The prices are excellent and the atmosphere is friendly. Breakfast is served all day long. You are missing out if you don't try this restaurant.

MY REVIEW: This place is not just good for the bagels but for the atmosphere! It's great being stuffed into this small little place and having a good time and eating. The food is SOOO good. It's the best place to go to.

MY REVIEW: The bagels are as fresh as possible, being made in the bakery as you watch. The aroma of the various bagel flavors as they mingle is amazing. The coffee shop serves one of the best breakfast deals, along with a daily special, available in any city. The service is great, and the wait staff is is efficient and pleasant. Being in Texas, the place is a bit of mixture of small town hospitality and New York atmosphere. I have never been disappointed in meeting friends or taking family to eat there.

MY REVIEW: We have breakfast there often, have lived in the neighborhood many years. We get to be Jewish for a few hours a month. My husband is from Jersey and loves the food and the ambiance. Breakfast is my favorite meal when I eat at the New York Bagel Shop!

MY REVIEW: A jewish friend of mine introduced me to the NY Bagel Shop several years ago. My mom's from Brooklyn so I just had to take her here. She loved it, it brought her back 30-40 years to Brooklyn. I like the place too. Always crowded on Saturdays and Sundays for breakfast and lunch. The chopped liver is to die for! If you've never been to a NY Jewish diner.....this is as close as it gets without going to NYC.

MY REVIEW: The Bagels are wonderful! So many varieties to choose from. Get there in the morning when they are hot, although they bake them all day, and the aroma alone will make you come back again and again.

Attached to the Bakery (which is Kosher)...is a small restaurant (that isn't Kosher) but offers some great food at great prices.

MY REVIEW: The best bagels! Company's genetics are the same as bagel shop originally founded in Brooklyn, NY many years ago. Same great bagels. The friendliest atmosphere where you always are served great food at reasonable prices. A win, win, win... get there!
