MY REVIEW: Food is excellent, terrific service, serene atmosphere, and parking is easy!

I have eaten here many times before (have been coming for several years now) and this was by far the best meal I have eaten in a long time! Not the most "traditional" Chinese food, but still delicious and gourmet in every way!

I had the Chino Beef and Cold Spicy Noodles. The noodles are spaghetti with a light peanut sauce, mixed in with fresh chicken. You can toss it yourself or watch them toss it table-side!

I will continue to go there until infinity's end!

MY REVIEW: I took the dinner club Eight Friends Out to this restaurant last night and had a wonderful time! The service was very attentive, even though we had a very large group, and everything was served very timely. I had the vegetarian delite with fresh vegetables in a tasty brown sauce--my friends had the shrimp and walnuts which looked fabulous too! What struck me as I came in the restaurant to begin with was the incredibly enticing smells--I wanted to dive in right away! The desserts were absolutely luscious and decadent--I had a huge chocolate mousse with a chocolate sculpture as decoration, all wonderfully and pleasantly edible. I would come back here in a heartbeat and didn't mind coming here with the dinner club two nights in a row.

MY REVIEW: Still the best Hot and Sour soup in town!

I have been going here for lunch for many years and have found the food to be consistent, tasty and served promptly and politely.

I will admit that the take-out leaves something to be desired but I persevere none the less.

MY REVIEW: we eat out enough to where we know a good restaurant from the first time.

we ordered take out here and would never go back. first, we waited at the bar 20 min and no one thought of even offering water. they weren't busy and a man who looked to be the owner was looking out the window. right away i knew the food was not going to be good either. and it was horrible. a waste of a sunday night dinner. their attitude shows disdain for the client and food shows very little respect as well. how hard could it be to put a little more effort into the cooking when you run a restaurant.

MY REVIEW: The Shrimp in Hot Pepper sauce just plain wasn't. Although it was dissapointing I understand. Most people don't want mutagenic hot sauce through a straw. The eggroll was a little oily and the fried rice almost devoid of anything other than rice and soy sauce. All together an edible downtown lunch rush offering.

However, they loose serious points for truly mediocre hot tea. It was hot, it was caffienated, it was iced tea out of a microwave, soapy tasting and oily.

When I eat Chinese I like to pretend to eat in the Chinese manner with chopsticks and a rice bowl. Cafe Chino doesn't seem to know what a rice bowl is. They brought out a soup toureen that must have been top of the line for Buffalo China.

The fact that the server did not question but simply brought the bowl is a credit to their service. They were courteous and quick. Quick is the operative term here since it's lunch business downtown. If you're in a hurry Cafe Chino is an excellent alternative to the burger joints. Just don't expect to talk business.

Because of the time and location the noise was unbearable. The decor, while plesant, makes an excellent resonator. I think I hear every conversation between here and China. I recommend that you get one of their photocopied menus, call ahead, and take it back to the office.
