MY REVIEW: When first I saw this place I thought Sam's Boat in Pearland? Tourist trap!

I was so wrong. The fish and chips are to die for. The bacon swiss mushroom burger is of the finest quality I've had from New York to Timbuktu. The drinks are strong. And the staff here are all lovely and so eager to please. Plus, the atmosphere. You can sit in leisure and watch the peaceful bustle of population that has become Pearland flow by.

Just love it.

MY REVIEW: The first time we visited Sam's the food was good and service was ok. We weren't excatly impressed but that was when it had just opened. Now my husband and I go very often. The service has improved greatly and the food has gotten faster too. The stuffed japlepnos are a must!!! Going on friday nights when they have bands playing are a wonderful time. I very much recommend Sam's Boat in Pearland!!!

MY REVIEW: The service is terrible. I've stood at the bar waving money at the bartenders and they still would ignore me. I'm going to B*uffalo Wild Wings in the same center from now on. They have great, friendly bar service.

MY REVIEW: If you are looking for a great dinning experiance this is not the place. Sam's, as much as they think they are not, is a bar. They started as a bar and will always be a bar. The food is good...for bar food. If you want good Tex-Mex or Seafood, go to a Tex-Mex or Seafood place! Sam's is food to people watch, listen to live music and get your drink on. If you want to eat, well there is food that is not the best, but hey it is okay while you drink. The staff, mainly young girls, are forgetful and if you are not a regular expect to wait to be served fast. I love the place! If you have never been, remember it is more of a bar than a great place to eat!

MY REVIEW: I have been at least 4-5 times hoping that the service and atmosphere would improve, however each time we go the service gets worse! The manager and service team is rude and very slow. The website claims to serve food until 2AM, but we were told the kitchen closes at 11pm. Hopefully, new management will come in, and livin' up the place and service.

MY REVIEW: It's fun to finally have a place in Pearland with live music, so I'd go to hear the band.

The servie is terrible though. I watched a couple wait for a solid hour on some appetizer tray. The waitress kept saying 'it's on the way...it's on the way..." We got tired of waiting for another drink so had to go to the outside bar to order.

The waitstaff is entirely unprofessional and just has no common sense! Our waitress kept forgetting things so much that it was comical.

This restaurant has a ton of potential, but was very disappointing.

MY REVIEW: The service was bad. We waited at least 40+ minutes for our food. No refills were given until we complained. We were given more information than was need by our waitress. The manager did comp our meal since the service was so bad. We actually saw people walk in and wait to be greeted and never were and walked out. I would not visit this location again.

MY REVIEW: I will tell you that several of my friends and I have tried Pearland Sam's Boat....totally disapointed. We made ourselves try it 3 times and everytime we had bad service and under par food. On the last visit the waitress brought our ice tea with no ice! we ordered a fish sandwich that had a very small piece of fish and when asked to speak to the manager, he came over and said that you could expect below par sevice from a new resteraunt...beacause they have not perfected everything yet. EVEN ICE IN YOUR TEA. they do have good hamburgers but the hassel is not worth the buger! going back to kelley's for the big -k burger.

MY REVIEW: Don't bother going here for the 'cajun' items. We tried the seafood gumbo, and...it's not gumbo. In fact, I don't know what it was. Some sort of beige-colored paste with a few bits of seafood scattered throughout over a LOT of rice. The fried seafood was ok, but not spectacular. The shrimp are small. And what I saw on another person's plate, the boiled crawfish are small, too. The crab balls are more filler than crab. And the fries are not seasoned, though they say they are. The only thing that saved it was a lot of Cholula sauce. As far as seafood places go, this is a step below J*oe's Crab Shack.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I went to Sam's boat for the first time on December 19th for his birthday. WE LOVED IT!!! We sat outside and made it in time for happy hour. The waitress was AWESOME!!!!! We didn't have to wait for to take our drink order or our food order. The food came out quick and it was AWESOME!!! A MUST TRY is the Jambalaya and the FRIED mushrooms!!!! I told my husband that it is my NEW favorite place in Pearland!!!! Can't wait for the bands to start playing! The atmosphere is great!!! We will definitely take our kids there too! They are 12 and 15 and will love it! We have already done there twice in less than 2 weeks and plan on going again soon!!!! The only thing missing was Louisiana HOT SAUCE!!!!!

MY REVIEW: I know this is a seafood place but we ordered a burger in our first visit. The burgers are really good. Next time we will try the fries. I am glad that there is another good place to eat at Pearland cuz some of the other restaurants really need not to be there to waste the space...

MY REVIEW: Sunday is still kickin on the deck at Richmond's Sam's Boat ... I was there a few Sunday's ago ... and while there wasn't a band ...that DJ was playing some mind blowing hits. They got a newer menu too as I've seen some newer items on there. Overall the service was still kind of slow for my liking, but the bartenders and waitstaff were very friendly. Haven't been at Sam's in awhile, but you can tell some things have changed a bit around Sam's.

Parking still tough when it's full ... but still a great hangout.

MY REVIEW: Service is slow and a little h*ooter-esque.

Outside is really a nice place to sit and have a meal and drinks but is it too much to ask for a place to invest in some fans to keep a breeze going? We ordered chips and salsa, a shrimp basket and a sampler basket. Don't go there if you're in a hurry. Although the seafood was OUTSTANDING, the fries were soggy, the chips were abnormally hard and the salsa was "Pace" mixed with pico de gallo to make it look fresh. After the food was eaten we moved inside and even though we were the only ones sitting at the bar, we constantly had to get his attention to get a drink. We didn't get dessert.

MY REVIEW: My hubhub and I go there one or two fridays a month... service is awfully slow..although I've had a good server a time or two, it's still S-L-O-W! Food is ok and drinks are fine. My favorite thing..the thing that keeps me coming back for 'ugh' service is the music and outdoor seating! I love that we can sit outside and enjoy the night..the music and just relax or dance...

MY REVIEW: They advertise crawfish but on a Sunday afternoon/evening(6pm) they had already run out. It could not be because too busy since it had rained all afternoon so no one was going to go there to sit outside and inside had about half dozen tables occupied. The manager definitely needs to train his staff better from reception to table clean-oo. Also a good business operations manager would not run out of a major staple on a weekend, especially like Fathers Day. I opted finally for the salmon which was very good. Upon paying the bill it was dollars and change. The waitress returned me the dollar difference but not the change.I think it should be the customers option if they want to leave the change and whatever other tip, I guess the change was enough since they took it upon themselves to keep it. With all the competition out there in The Woodlands area I think they need to step up the management training, it all boils down to management.

MY REVIEW: I had visited the Richmond location a few times. It is more of a hangout kind of place. When I moved to the Woodlands, it seemed as though it would be more of a restaurant as most of the place is inside and the tables are set up like a restaurant, not a bar to hang out in. Well, as most reviewers have said, the place is definitely a bar, not a place to eat. The food is not good, the service is horrible, unless you are a regular or sitting at the bar.

I am not going to bash the place because if you just want to go out and have a few drinks and party, then this place is for you. If you want food, with some adult beverages, you might want to go somewhere else.

MY REVIEW: Had a great time Thursday night. I just moved to the area and this establishment was recommended by some friends. They warned me that it was more of restaurant early, but a bar later in the night. Were they ever right! The place was hopping with a great DJ inside and a good band outside. Waitstaff and managers very helpful. Had a drunk bothering me and some friends that was removed by managment after multiple attempts to loose him. Will definitely go back!

MY REVIEW: I love this place. And yes they do know my name. The food I have had is good. The music is great and the staff is awesome. Jolee, Lee, and Erika are bad ass bartenders! I don't even have to tell them what I want they just give it to me. No I'm not a drunk I just like the atmosphere and the people. Its a good mix of ages! and there isn't anything wrong with that. And for those who complain about the smoke.....ITS A BAR!!!!!! NOT A RESTAURANT!!!!

I've never tried the other 2 locations but only b/c I'm happy with this one. And who said that b*aker street was better???? 9.50 for a pitcher of beer?!?! i don't think so. I'll stick with my 6 dollar pitcher and friendly staff. Don't go on what other people are saying tho, find out for yourself. If you aren't into the music and crowd then go early. If you like to hang out and have a good time then go on a thursday night for sure!!!!

MY REVIEW: STRONG POINTS=ENERGY AND ATMOSPHERE

WE WENT ON GOOD FRIDAY AND HAD SO MUCH FUN. THE SERVICE WAS JUST O.K. BUT THE ENTERTAINMENT AND FOOD WAS SURPRISINGLY GOOD (BETTER). THIS PLACE IS SO DIFFERENT THAN OTHER RESTAURANTS. I CAN'T PUT MY FINGER ON ALL OF THE REASONS THAT IT IS SO COOL BUT WE ARE LOYAL FANS. SAM'S HAS A GOOD THING GOING.

MY REVIEW: Strong points: Music, music, music. Free chips and salsa. Scenery.

Weak points: Service? What service?

In the Time Before Children, my husband and I would frequently go to Sam's Boat on Richmond on a weekend afternoon, Scrabble game in tow. We loved to sit on the deck, listen to the great music, and just hang out and play Scrabble. Note, though, we did NOT go here for the food. The food is okay, but that's not why we went. The beer is a little high, the service is amazingly slow, but the chips and salsa are free, and the music is great. Did I mention the great music? This is NOT a place for kids, so please don't take them. They--and you--will not have a good time if you do so.

MY REVIEW: We went to Houston for my bachelorette party. After a late night out on Saturday night, we went to Sam's Boat on Sunday night. The plan was to grab a quick dinner and be back at the hotel and in bed for around 10:00. We got there and had so much fun, before we knew it, it was 2:30 a.m. and we reluctantly headed back home. The food was good, the service was good, the music was good and the atmosphere was awesome. It was a fun place to hang out and spend the evening....and half the night! I am not from Texas, but I definitely would go out of my way to go to Sam's Boat if ever in the Houston area again!

MY REVIEW: My date and I were going to the Boulevard and as soon as we walked around the corner, I heard THE BEST sounds coming from across the little waterway. I thought we were going "there" and I got so excited but that wasn't the Boulevard....It was SAM's BOAT! SO...I asked to go to Sam's Boat instead of going into the other bar but Jonathan still wanted to go to The Boulevard. I am a live music nut so I just HAD to ditch my date and I headed to Sam's Boat alone.

THE MUSIC WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD. (I kept trying to remember how good they sounded when I had to pay for that cab ride home!)

The band said that they call themselves, "Living Proof" and they said that they had a website. I can't find a website for them but if you ever get a chance to hear them, GET THERE. The service sucked but who cares!??? I went there for the band. MUSIC is what it's all about!

Jonathan, I'm so sorry that I ditched you. You are SOOOO cute. I've never done that before but.....the music was ALL I could think about. I hope you had a fun time at Michael's party.

MY REVIEW: All right people. I have to agree with Lovetoeatout. This is not a "restaurant" but a BAR that serves food. The reason the service is not always the best is because the waitresses are hired because they do an adequate job but most importantly because they are hot. In the BAR business this is a common practice. This practice attracts young men who will spend thier money if hot girls abound. This takes place in BARS - not family restaurants. Leave the kids at home and go to Sam's Boat if you want a good time with great scenery. My service has always been excellant, but then again I know how to flirt and have a good time. I think Sam's Boat is great. In fact I'm going to go there tonight. I'll be there around 9:00 so make sure you take your kids home by then. They should be in bed anyway.

MY REVIEW: I've only been during crawfish season and the crawfish was incredibly good! The service is the only complaint I have. The waitresses take forever with everything. One time, I had to stay there for an extra 30 minutes because our waitress wasn't anywhere to be found. The food that I've had other than the crawfish was okay. I will definitely go back once crawfish season is back!
