MY REVIEW: I have lunch here at least twice a week. They have the best baked potato soup ever!!! The soup/half sandwich luhch is a real deal. All sandwiches are fabulous (and I've had them all), especially the Ruben and the French Vegetarian - very delicious and unique. Everything is very fresh here. Try the split pea soup as well. I look forward to my twice weekly visits here.

MY REVIEW: We had an excellent breakfast here this morning (Saturday, June 3). I was looking for a new breakfast restaurant for me and my husband to try and wanted something along the way to the Memorial area as we were heading in that direction to do some shopping. I found this restaurant on b4ueat and saw some good reviews, plus it appeared to have bakery items as well as egg dishes (he likes the latter and I like a combination of the two).
We had a made to order omelette with cheddar cheese, sausage, green bell pepper, onion and tomato. The omelette (which we split, thank goodness, as it was huge)came out piping hot. The vegetables were ever so fresh! We also had one of their huge banana nut muffins (which we also split) and we devoured it while waiting for our omelette. We (once again) split a large, freshly squeezed orange juice (expensive, but worth it).
I must also comment on the people behind the counter as they were all very helpful, making suggestions and answering our questions. They also have a good selection of free magazines which we picked up on the way out, including Houston, Houston Press, Houston House & Home and 002houston. We will go back when we need to venture outside the loop.

MY REVIEW: I was not at all impressed with the french onion soup that I had for lunch today. The onions were not cooked well (some practically crunchy raw), had little flavor (what were the green flakes?), and it was without the traditional cheese that one normally finds with it. It was as if it was prepared moments before it was served. They should take a lesson from La M*adeleine as far as a good recipe is concerned. Other than that, I will keep ordering from them.

MY REVIEW: I've been going to The French House for over 20 years, through 3 owners. David, who's been the owner since the late '80s knows customer service and that, in addition to their great food, is why The French House has such a large loyal following. I love their chicken salad, potato salad, fruit tarts and their corned beef sandwich. I've never had an unsatisfactory meal at The French House.
I order take out quite often. I just call on my way and it's ready when I get there. David knows me by name.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I really like this restaurant. The only drawback is that it is not open very late so you cannot include it in your dinner plans. We like to go for lunch or breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. Everything is always so fresh! Lots of menu choices for folks who want to eat healthy- or not. Very clean. The staff is responsive and friendly. I love the BLT's- the bacon is crispy and no grease. The last time I went I had the spinach quiche with a side salad. The quiche was lovely and creamy- you could taste the cheese. It was rich without tasting like stick of butter. The salad had wonderful crisp romaine lettace and came in a generous portion. The bread pudding is lovely. My husband had pancakes which were very fluffy and light. Don't miss the fresh-squeezed orange juice. Economically priced.

MY REVIEW: Went there with 3 other ladies from work. Quick service. The turkey sandwich was decent (1/2 is huge), and the tomato soup was the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be back for lunch soon.

MY REVIEW: If you're serving weekend brunch at your home, consider picking up one of the quiches they serve here and you're guaranteed happy guests.

MY REVIEW: The food is GREAT!! I am from Europe and it is a little like home; fresh french bread with any kind of meat you want warm or cold. The soups, desert, etc are to die for. Most of their food is so good for you, you don't feel guilty eating. My mom, sister and I always go there and grab a bit to eat before we get our hair done just down the street. My mom has been going there for years (since I was 6 or 7, now I am 21). I also agree that they need to make more around Houston, I would also go everyday if there was one closer by home.
