MY REVIEW: The food is fresh and portions are more than ample. The staff is friendly and attentive. I love the falafel sandwich and the shawarma chicken. My husband always gets the gyros sandwich. We carry out often, but on our last visit we ate in and were handed a free dessert.

MY REVIEW: I liked the food at the previous location. I thought that the food at the new location was even better. The hummus was great, and the falafel was the best I've ever had. Everything was fresh. The gentleman who runs the place was nice and he had everything looking very clean.

MY REVIEW: Quite simply, this was one of the worst meals we have ever had in Houston. We went on a Friday night and there were NO patrons, only us. The lone employee was busy mopping the floor then went behind the counter to take our order. I wish we spoke Spanish so the communication would have been better. She never really acknowledged anything we asked for. The meat was reheated on some grill in the back and came out very dry. The sides were lukewarm and the salads were drowned in dressing! I don't know how this place makes it unless they do a big lunch business. There are countless better options in Houston.

MY REVIEW: Wonderful Lebanese/Mediterranean food! Drop in a grab a Shawarma sandwich with a side of hummus. Owner and staff are very friendly. It's great to patronize independently-owned places where the operator takes a lot of pride in his business. Give it a shot... you won't be disappointed!

MY REVIEW: The proprietor was very friendly and the food was good. It's more like a cafe than a grill, where you order up front and take your seat with the food.
We had a $25 off $35 dining certficiate, so we bought a wide variety of food: The chicken and the baba ganoush were excellent. The rice and the greek salad were also very good. The hummus, pita bread and beef were average. The potatoes were very tasty but quite dry. I didn't like the tabouli, but I'm not a big parsley fan to begin with. We also tried our first sip of "rose water," which smells like purfume. I had never seen anything like it!
I felt the television in the corner was a loud distraction when I was trying to enjoy a dinner with my wife... For atmosphere, that was the only negative mark. The place was kept clean and tidy.
Pricing seemed a little on the steep side for the portion sizes, but not completely unreasonable given the type and quality of food.
Overall the experience was good and I would go back and bring friends.

MY REVIEW: The chicken is wonderful, very juicy and tender. The garlic yogurt sauce is likewise memorable. The pita bread is terrific and the salad actually contained black olives, not always seen. However, the spinach I ordered as a side wasn't hot. I enjoyed the atmosphere, cozy and friendly, and the guy serving it all up was indeed very pleasant. When I told him I worked across the street but it was my first visit, he came over with a dessert "just because you're a neighbor." It's a great place for a quick lunch.

MY REVIEW: I will not return to Yildizlar and I will NOT recommend it to anyone. The 2 gentlemen were very nice but the portions were small and the gyros were crunchy and dry! We ordered 2 gyro platters. There were 4 strips (approximately 2-1/2 inches long) of gyro on each platter. The tabouli was tasty but I do not think that 4 strips of gyro, tabouli and hummus is worth $9.99! N*iko N*iko's is much fresher!!!

MY REVIEW: Strong Points: Excellent chicken shwarma sandwiches. The half roasted chicken special is very good as well and a lot of food. Prices are very reasonable. Very nice owner. Casual atmosphere.
Weak Points: Sides are average, sometimes cold, although they will put them in microwave.
Overall: A great place for a good, reasonably priced mediterranean meal. Highly recommend the chicken special.

MY REVIEW: A few years ago this place was some of the best, most authentic middle eastern food. Now it is not fresh and poorly put together. I would definitely not recc. it.

MY REVIEW: What has happened to Yildizar?!!! It was bland a few years ago, then last year the food started to taste fabulous and we frequented it often--then about three months ago all the veg dishes were icky again. It's so disappointing--I loved the lentils and spinach and now only dare eat the hummus and greek salad. The falafal is still fabulous.

MY REVIEW: Great vegetarian stop! (Their meats smell divine roasting!) Best cafe I've entered for middle eastern fare!
I eat there weekly -- the authentic staff are super nice. They should offer their rarely prepared Turkish coffee on the menu!

MY REVIEW: My boyfriend and I are vegetarians and spend a good deal of time looking for good, healthy, tasty food, and Yildizlar is some of the best we've found. Plus, we can bring our carnivorous friends along and they don't feel shrifted, since Yildizlar also offers meaty delights.
The tabouli, potatoes, hummus, lentils, spinich are fabulous, so are the falafel sandwiches. We recently ate a falafal sandwich at Ni*ko Ni*ko that was half the size on dry pita for three or four dollars more than a real gourmet falafel sandwich we eat a Yildizlar.
The staff is nice, they have arabic television playing in the background, which is both annoying and sort of nice. No special drinks, and thier baklava can be grainy. This is really a great spot for a quick, hearty, delicious meal.
