MY REVIEW: As I walked into Perry's steakhouse on Bay Area I was warmly greeted by a gentlemen in a suit. Me and my wife were escorted to our table promptly. I was greeted by two gentlemen on th way to our table. Our server approached quickly and greeted us with water. He also turned out to be the gentleman who greeted us and introuced himself. Dave told us about the wine menu and make the estancia cabernet seem delightful. But we told him we weren't drinking that night it did'nt seem to bother him as it does most waiters in fine dining establishments. But I decided to drink anyways due to the way he made the wine sound. my wife ordered a reisling and i ordered a red blend that was 20 dollars a glass. we loved them ... i actually had two. he also reccommeded scallops as an appetizer. I knew they were going to be delicious because he sounded so excited about them and boy was he right. I now have a new favorite dish the lemon caper burre blac was magnificent. I also was had some questions about this Perrys famous pork chop and I was amazed that Dave recommended that over a fifty dollar steak. He was right it was the biggest and greatest tasting pork chop I've ever eaten. He even warned me about the size portions of the sides. We had coffees waiting on our dessert and we were happy to wait for it. Over all everythis was PERFECT the food was great Dave did'nt miss a crumb on the table timed our place settings and food perfectly. He even walked my wife to the restroom when she was simply sitting down looking for.Its amazing to have a great dinner but combined with perfect service. I will alwys come back to Perrys

MY REVIEW: First time visit to this particular location. The food was excellent. Steak cooked as ordered and salads were prepared to perfection. However, was stuck with an inattentive waiter. Steak came out lukewarm...mentioned it and the waiter blew me off...typically restaurants of this caliber have a "Manager showing"...not here. The place was not all that busy either.
The funny thing is, after we hadn't seen our waiter for a long time, I waived another waiter over and he came over, was attentive, sharp, on-the-spot and made sure we were taken care of. It was as if we moved to a completely different restaurant So, they do know how to serve...after all!
We'll come back.

MY REVIEW: Ok I don’t know how there have been so many bad experiences with this Perry's location.
The Food: The food was excellently prepared in a timely mannered as well as perfect temperature. My husband and I both tried the Chateaubriand which was excellent with fried asparagus.
The Wine: The wine list is one of the best if you want to stick to North Houston. We told our server what type of wine we enjoy and he recommended one that was outstanding.
The Service: Drew gave us perfect service especially for how young he is. The table was always kept clean with that utensil they use which my wife thinks is so entertaining. Our glasses were always full of wine and water. All the food was brought out in a timely balanced manner as well.
Bad: The only thing we could of wished for is to have spoken to a manager to given him our regards.
Keep up the good work Champions!!!

MY REVIEW: We were sold on the Valentines day deal by a friend who was a waiter there. We were sorely disappointed.
We arrived at 7:50 for 8:00 reservations, and literally had to wait in a line 15 minutes OUT the door just to tell them we had arrived. A lot of upset folks were trying to cut in line and insisting that they shouldn't be waiting in a line. It made for a very uncomfortable start. It was a fire department nightmare. Then they didn't even have a pager to give us when we finally got to the front and told us to wait in the bar and they would try to find us in 15 to 20 mins. There was NO ROOM in the bar AT all. Every table was packed. Id estimate at least 200 people were WAITING to be seated in a restaurant that probably accomodated about 250. At 8:45 after STANDING outside, because there was NOWHERE to safely stand inside (people were plastered against the walls, standing room only in the bar, NO waiters to offer drinks), I went in and pleaded for a table. They said, "you are in luck, one just opened upstairs in teh VIP room." We took it.
We were shown upstairs to the "vip" room, which had about 8 tables seated, one of which was a VERY LOUD and family party of 20, with at least 3 crying babies in carriers, and small children running around the table. It was a nightmare. Luckily they only stayed 20 mins more, but we were suprised that Perry's would have even accomodated such a family CROWD on Valentines night.
They were touting it as a FANCY and SPECIAL night out with Rose Petals on the table and a special Prefix. It was far from that. No rose petals. We couldnt even hear each other talking and we had a quieter table tucked away. The prefix was $60 and did NOT even include a dessert. Everywhere else Ive EVER been to on Valentines day dinner ALWAYS included some special chocolate sort of dessert, after all, it is VALENTINES DAY.
Altough the entres were good, I had the ahi tuna, and Amy and the Pork chops, the appetizers were COLD COLD and soggy, obvioulsy made hours earlier, the soup was tasty but cool, the vegatable sides were tasteless and inedible, again probably cooked long ago and reheated, and then they only had 2 dessert choices, which again, you had to purchase. You could either choose some chocolate cheesecake thing, OR Bananas Foster which they did NOT make at the table so you didn't even get the fire show they usually do.
The ONLY saving grace was Danielle, our waitress, who was assigned upstairs, probably because she was their best waitress. Although, it seemed really dumb to assign this petite young woman to carry heavy platters of food and plates up and down the stairs. She was NOT happy about it but was as accomodating as she could be. Her helper was a new waiter, who was trying, but obviously had little experience at a fine dining restaurant. He missed opportunites to fill our wine or water glasses.
Needsless to say, we felt very cheated. It cost us over $200 with a 15% tip, which included a $40 bottle of wine and coffee, which were WERE charged for extra. We ended up getting out of there close to 11. We learned our lesson. Basically, never eat out on Valentines day, unless it is a very very well run restaurant. Perry's was not, which is suprising because they have been well managed in the past.
Shame on Perry's for advertising this romantic and special evening that Im sure was RUINED for MANY couples, not just us. They obviously overbooked by 100% and the only reason we were probably seated is that other couples LEFT in disgust and disappiontment. I intend to write a letter to management in hopes of helping them to PREVENT such future disasters.

MY REVIEW: I had my first experience at Perry's last week and ordered "Perry's famous Pork Chop" and was I pleasantly surprised! Not only was the pork chop the most tender and succulent pork chop I have ever tasted but the decor was really nice! I had always thought Perry's would be too expensive for a regular Joe like me but when I saw the lunch prices I was amazed that a restaurant this nice would have a fairly affordable lunch menu!
The sampler appetizer plate we ordered was a combination of fried asparagus, stuffed mushrooms, sausage and calamari..the fried asparagus was out of this world and I was almost so full from the appetizer plate and the bread they brought that when my lunch came I had to take a deep breath after seeing the size and thickness of the pork chop!
The waiter was funny when he made a remark about the blue bottles that they served the water in. He said that they no longer make them so if they happened to break over time they would probably have to switch to another color...
Needless to say I was impressed! With the decor, the food, the service and the overall experience. For my first trip to Perry's I would have to give the experience 2 thumbs up!

MY REVIEW: I recently dined with friends at Perry's for the Social Hour, and was very impressed with the service in the Lounge area. David Freeman stopped by the table to check on us multiple times. Our waitress, Christina, was very attentive. We enjoyed the delectable asparagus with lump crab meat, stuffed mushrooms (broiled, not fried), and calamari w/ peppers. I highly recommend any of these appetizers to a first time or repeat guest. And the wine selection was perfect. Will be back soon!!

MY REVIEW: My husband and I have been visiting Perry's since it first opened. Since that time we have become regulars, not only for family events, as it is our young adults restaurant of choice for special occasions, but we choose to bring business colleagues to this particular location. Why? Because as we pass through the elegant and inviting interior, each member of their team steps aside and greets us, now by name. They are very situationally aware and apparently well trained.
While we enjoy dinning in the main dinning areas we have also planned and successfully executed superb private parties at this location. Mr. Freeman, the on-site general manager, takes his position seriously. With a keen eye and attention to detail, he ensures that every detail is not only executed but that his team is fully briefed. Our guests have been" wowed" and we will definitely continue supporting such a great caliber restaurant that this area so badly needed.
On a footnote, may I also give kudos to two of our favorite servers, professional, attentive, without being intrusive and very knowledgeable, Christina and Paul H. Thank you Mr. Freeman for always going the extra mile with all your guests!

MY REVIEW: Young waiter who forgot to bring bread. Lunch entrees very slow in coming and very expensive for quantity of food. Steak sandwich was considered OK but had large seam of fat which was unappetizing. Grilled shrimp was mediocre for the amount of money, three medium shrimps sitting on half a cup of mashed potatoes with a smattering of green beans and one spring of brocoli for $15.00. Beautiful restaurant but I am glad someone else picked up the tab and we would personally not return.

MY REVIEW: I had been telling my fiance about how good Perry's was and I finally was able to take her this past week for her first visit. I was worried it was not going to live up to the hype I had been giving, but was I mistaken. We had an awesome meal and a great time.
It all started with the Fried Asparagas appetizer. Fried to perfection, with lumb crabmeat on top. Wow, it was great. We then had the wedge salad which was really good, and she order the Filet Perry's and I ordered the pork chop. OMG, the pork chop was out of this world. Juicy and tender. The filet was good too, but the pork chop blew it away. My fiance agreed. We finished up with Creme Brule and Bananas Foster made tableside which were both out of this world.
Service could not have been better, they were fast when they needed to be and slower when we wanted more time to talk between courses. Bill was a little steep for two people, $120+, but well worth it considering we had drinks as well. I will definately be going back.

MY REVIEW: First, re the "How many visits?" choices. I've been to this locaiton of Perry's not simply more than 6 times, but at least more than three dozen times (my work is nearby and I live 5 minutes from this location). The options for "How many visits?" relegate me to "Everybody knows my name . . . ." However, nothing could be further from the truth at this Perry's location which - despite its "exclusive" look, ambience, decor, etc., I'm doubtful they maintain any database with my name or other such log which might help them recall loyal customers. Certainly, neither the aloof and unfriendly kewpee dolls they hire to be their hostesses or the managers who seem to wander the floor aimlessly with little to do (. . . much less stop to greet and imprint faces on their minds as they welcome customers or some other such useful avocation) appear to have the means or inclination to recognize a regular customer if their life depended on it. I've certainly never felt a look of familiarity, much less heard the words "Good to see you again," upon any successive visit to this location. Instead, this location appears quite content to bask in its virtual monopoly status as probably the only upscale "meatery" south of The Woodlands and north of Westheimer along the 249 cooridor. They need some competition . . . which they have for those of us increasingly willing to drive 20 minutes north to The Woodlands where at least 4 upscale "meateries" vie for the customer. I'm fed up with average food and mediocre service from this place.
Second, the Food. Basics for a steakhouse - steaks & chops - are tasty & prepared consistent with customer's preferences. Since it is only reasonable to expect this from an upscale "meatery," it can only rate "average" unless something "wows" you. Specifics - The seven finger pork chop is a "wow" item unique to Perry's which is no longer the dried out mass of meat it once was . . . at least the last couple of times I've ordered it, the pork chop has been outstanding. Beyond that, their steaks "meet expectations." Furthermore, they regularly tout every time I've been there and off the menu special they call the "Symphony Kabob" - a solid mix of surf (jumbo shrimp & lobster tail) & turf (filet) skewered and hanging above your plate from a triangular or other suspension mechanism; since it is ALWAYS a special, it's not really "special" is it. Furthermore, by the time others at our table have been served their dishes, the person who'd ordered the kabob found it lukewarm and, hanging in the wind, cooling fast. While interesting presentation, it is impractical for maintaining appropriate heat throughout the meal for the dish which, if served on a skewer, should be immediately removed from it & arranged on a hot platter . . . if it's so "special" attention to making it "wow" item in its taste/edibility rather than its suspension presentation needs to occur. Again, really hard to complain about a well-seasoned, properly prepared steak served on a sizzling platter - par for the course at such a place, so neither is a properly cooked tasty steak worthy of any special accolades. A quick comment on the desserts - tasty, good variety, but simply average, again; example - bananas foster prepared table side with all the panache & flambe you'd expect, but then served over a fist-sized chunk of ice cream that has been frozen so hard that you wish you could get your steak knife back to cleave it up for thawing & eating - the lump was nearly as hard as a rock . . . again, as much attention to edibility as presentation is needed.
Third, Service. Service is "consistently inconsistent" at this location . . . as suggested above, starting from the moment you walk in the door. During the meal, Sat, Dec 8, our server was slow with drinks, had to wait on an apparently overtasked sommalier to retrieve a modest midscale bottle of wine delaying its delivery & breathing, and had plenty of time between our salad/soup course and delivery of our entree to provide the necessary "bowie" knife for our meat. The entree's were served, we waited, we craned our neck looking for our server, and finally we had to track him down to get the needed cleaver. By the way, it was during that time, that one of those seemingly underemployed managers made her 'rounds' near our table . . . rounds which consisted of a brisk walk thru our area with scarcely a glance at any of the tables, thus failing to pick up on and rectify this oversight . . . much less giving our party time to catch her on her "cruise" thru our area.
Folks, I'm rarely this harsh on a restaurant, and look for good to balance with the negative. But a restaurant where a tab of roughly $350-400 is normative for a party of four (cocktails, appetizers, a midscale bottle of wine with dinner, steak/chop/surf+turf dish apiece, side dishes, dessert, coffee), should be held to a very high standard. This location of Perry's fails to evince - to this long patient customer - the requisite "actions" which would suggest an interest in attempting to attain high standards. I can only attribute this to a combination of poor leadership, lax staff training, and an aloofness possibly borne of a failure to have significant direct competition in the immediate vicinity of this location.
Those of us long-term residents of the area who've seen del Friscos/Resas decline precipitously during the past decade and a half, and longed for a suitable upscale steak/chop house to replace it, had very high hopes for Perry's. After many visits, patience, and a forgiving spirit with this location of Perry's struggles to show some modicum of consistency, it's time to recognize that it may never attain that modest goal without a combination of better leadership by its managers, training of its staff, and attentiveness to its customers.

MY REVIEW: At Perry's near Memorial City Msll on I-10, you should have dinner in the bar on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. There are dining booths with privacy curtains available, and bar tables for eating anything you want from the menu, served with a most attentive waitstaff.
There is also a 3 man soft jazz band performing there on these evenings. Ask to be waited on by a young lady named CHRISTINA, who looks like actress Fran "The Nanny" Drescher. She won't give you anything less than exceptional service.

MY REVIEW: Got together after work with some friends in the bar at Perry's this weekend. Their live music is great and they had 1/2 price appetizers until 6:30. The Jake's burger was nice and juicy and well prepared. I think I paid under $6 for it too, can't beat that.
The bar setting is definitely nicer than the 20-something free for all that is B*aker St. Great place for us 30 somethings to get together and have a drink or two after work. Service was good, not pushy but we definitely weren't forgotten. I've yet to be in the restaurant but if it's as nice as the bar and the service is as good, I'm sure I'll enjoy it as well.

MY REVIEW: Overall, I would rate Perry's as very good.
Service: Our waiter, Alec, was excellent. He was attentive without being in the way. He was respectful by not interrupting our conversation, he kept our glasses full and table cleared, and answered all our questions. If he didn't know an answer, he found out instead of guessing.
Food: Fried lobster appetizer melted in your mouth. So tender!
My pecan crusted tilapia was so good. My husband described his filet as good. The Pecan D'Angelo (or something like that) was made at our table and so yummy! The Apple Stilton Cheese Cobbler was also good, but I didn't like the cheese--too pungent for me. The decaf coffee was fresh and good. That doesn't happen too often! Next time I will ask for bread. That was the only thing missing from this meal.
Although this place is pricey ($200 for the above and 3 glasses of wine), we will return. Good food, ambiance, and service.

MY REVIEW: My girlfriend and I dine out on a regular basis and enjoy moderetly priced restaurants. We tend to stay away from fine dining mainly because were both in our mid 20's and usualy waiters overlook us as we probably dont look fiancialy wealthy. Bad service is not uncommon for us. We decided to take a chance at the semi new Perrys on cypresswood and well i must say im rather suprised what great service can do when you get a 200 bill.
First off the restaurant is like stepping into your own home. I its so relaxed with fixtures that i would put in my home. Who ever designed these layouts has great taste, all the way from the hand blown wall decor to the bathroom fixtures are well chosen and placed. I really felt comfortable right from the start. Our hostess sat us after a very breif wait.
We then met our waiter, He was young and confident as he through out flawless speils about the prime bone in newyork strip and lobster appatizer. We ordered a bottle of wine off the huge wine list and were presented as if we were royalty. Never once were my water or wine glass empty.
Moving right on about the food. There is only one way to describe the meal. Superb. The timing, all the recomendations, dessert, all performed flawlessy. I had the bone in strip and didnt even need a knife. The meat was so tender i had to wonder how Ive been missing out on Perrys for so long.
Our server had timed everything to perfection and maintained our table as if he knew what my next thought was. Not one complaint and im very hard to please. Thank you Seth.
In the end the bill was a little high at 200 dollars, but as we all know its not price, its value and i felt as if had not paid enough. We left 100 dollars for the tip. We figured the experience made up for all the bad experiences we have incurred in the past
To close, i must say im really impressed, and am glad this new addition to our dining list will be one for many years to come. If you havnt tried out this inovative venue make plans soon because you will not be dissapointed

MY REVIEW: My wife and I are serious diners, and are in the process of trying at least once every restaurant in Houston rated one-star (Chronicle) or better. We also dine out for convenience, since cooking at home for us is a half-day affair of shopping, prep, cooking and cleaning.
We really WANT to like Perry's. As north-siders, we started with their Woodlands location, visiting it three times before giving up. We couldn't put our fingers on why, but in the end figured out it out: Perry's is ALL SHOW AND NO GO. When the Cypresswood location opened, we were ready to try again - it's only a few miles from our house, and the north side is short on fine dining options. CRAP! Same exact experience. After two visits to this location, we're done forever.
It's easy to be fooled by Perry's. The buildings are nicely designed, looking like classic but updated steak houses. The entrance is fit for as fine a restaurant as you can imagine. Young, attractive, black-chic dressed people greet you warmly, and their boom mikes hint at a high-tech element that never appears again. The interior is beautiful, if not a little gaudy - big chandeliers or huge flower arrangements, a maze of indirect lighting, good background music piped in - all the ingredients. But wait - we haven't even met our waiter yet. He's young and inexperienced and a little overwhelmed - or older and jaded and lifeless. We've had several of each, but nobody who was energetic and informed and thoughtful. We get so spoiled by that at places like R*aoul's, M*ark's, I*biza, N*oe, etc., we almost take it for granted. One thing Perry's does well is make you miss other restaurants.
We've yet to get everything we ordered in the right order and at anywhere near correct pacing. A salad gets forgotton. The steaks come out before the appetizers. Drinks ordered when seated come a half hour later. I wish they'd take the money and the time they spent on boom microphones and flower arrangements and teach their waitstaff just the basics.
Last but far from the last is the food. Usually pretty good. That's it, just pretty good. Never bad, unless you count the turtle soup, which is NOT turtle soup - think Campbell's Tomato. The steaks are usually overcooked but sometimes they're close enough and sometimes they're not. If you send one back, expect the pendulum to swing way too far the other way...e.g. You order medium rare, you get medium. You send it back, you get rare. They take the rare back, throw it back on the grill, and you get medium, but almost medium rare, and you're sick of fighting the system so you just eat it.
It also needs to be said that this is NOT prime beef. They don't ever say it is, but they imply it, and if you ask directly, they'll say they're not sure, they'll check. You will then observe a level of evasion previously seen only in interrogation rooms. Bottom line? If it were prime they'd be yelling it from the rooftops - if they don't know, it isn't.
Finally, the bill - holy CRAP! Did I just eat at R*uth's Chris and not know it? P*appas Brothers? M*orton's? Nope, you just had a very mediocre meal and now you're paying full steakhouse prices. Why? Because it looks so nice from the outside and it's so close to your house. Ever again? Nope.

MY REVIEW: My family of 4 dined at Perry's this evening after dining on several occasions in the beginning starting from great dining experiences when they first opened, to down hill service, bad food with high prices. We thought we would give it another shot since we are frequent diners of fine cuisine - after a year. We called and spoke to Courtney who took our reservation and she confirmed that the food and service had improved. We were promptly seated (no wait, I guess for a reason) and escorted to our table. We noticed the prices had gone up tremendously in a year but well worth it if the service and quality of food had improved. We ordereded a $250 meal for 4. Started out with a nice bottle of wine, salads along with steaks and the trendy pork chop along with desserts. We had already informed our waiter that we had bad experiences in the past with our steaks not being prepared as ordered so he instructed the chef of our requests. Our wine came out and after waiting 30 minutes for our salads (which never came) our steaks and pork chops were served. The steaks for the price, were nothing better then O*utback. Not a lot of flavor and not prepared as requested. We were greeted once by our waiter after ordering. Still a disappointment and not worth the money. Service is lacking along with the quality of taste. Worth going for the sides of scalloped potatoes along with the bananas foster. Don't waste your money on the entrees. If you want a fantastic steak, try the S*trip House, Downtown. Will never go back again after 3 more chances.

MY REVIEW: We've been looking for a great steak house for Father's Day 2007. We found it at Perry's/The Woodlands. From the time we arrived the hostess(es) were very welcoming, had great eye contact and were very respectful calling us by our last names. We previously reserved a booth and were very fortunate enough to get "Chase" as our server. He addressed my husband and I by our last namesas well and treated our two kids(ages 10 and 12) as if they were kings and queens. From the scrumptous appetizers, mouth watering steaks the fresh pasta Chase made sure that all was "as expected" otherwise he was going to fix it, no problem. Although not on the menu they offered a petite filet, chix tenders and pasta(s) for the kids if needed. Most steak restaurants are dark and most difficult to read the menu or talk privately, so the booth was perfect. We went to K*irby's Steak house last month but that was more old school, dark and more expensive. From the beautiful decor, upbeat music to the personal service (from Chase) all made a BIG difference in the enjoyment of our entire meal. Don't hesitate to take kids here — we are definitely going back to Perry's!!!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I went to the Cypresswood location and found that the food was great and the service to be spectacular.
We ordered the fried lobster tail and for the price, I do not think that it was worth it. I would not order it again.
The atmosphere was wonderfull and romantic. Now I will say this; we did take our 21 month old there, and even he acted ok, I would not do it again. This restarant is for *adults only*.
A tip on dress code. If you have never been, gentlemen may want to wear dress pants with a sports coat and women may want to wear a nice dress.
We will be going back just us two together.

MY REVIEW: This is an admirable restaurant with one caveat. Be sure to note, as indicated on the menu, but easily overlooked, that the steaks are served with a garlic butter sauce on top. Be sure to ask them to leave this on the side, as, why would anyone want to spend $40 on a steak only to have the steak flavored by the garlic. Almost as dumb as ordering a filet mignon wrapped with bacon. Save the bacon and garlic for cheaper cuts of meat in my opinion and let the steak stand on its own.
Onion Rings: spectacular. Crispy with a candy-like crunch. Expensive though.
Baked Potato: Enormous. A pound as advertised. Expensive though.
Four people, one salmon order, two rib-eyes, one salad, one baked potato, on order onion rings, one glass of wine: $150 with tax and tip!
Waiter: Forgot to bring/offer bread
Waiter: Other than forgetting the bread, handled our table very well. Was pleased to notice that when the waiters are doing a table presentation and cutting meats they put on latex gloves.

MY REVIEW: This place was packed out for Valentines, so we went the day before! Food was excellent, they also have a huge wine list. The salmon starter is great - highly recomended. Steaks cooked to perfection. Atmosphere great.
HUGE bonus points for the fact that this restaurant was set at a decent temperature...seems like every restaurant in Houston pumps the dining area with freezing cold air. This place was perfect, and for once I wasn't left shivering at the table & wrapping myself in the napkin for warmth...!

MY REVIEW: This was our first time at Perry's for a friend's birthday and it will defintiely be the last.
While the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, the food was alright but not amazing, and the service was AWFUL. For 7 people, it took us almost 4 HOURS to eat. We continually had to BEG to have our water/tea glasses refilled. Our dessert took almost an hour to come out. We asked for the check three times. And when we finally asked to speak with a manager, that took another 10 minutes, at which point she did little but profusely apologize.
In regards to the food, the porkchop was great, but just about everything else on the menu was average. You can get a better and cheaper steak almost anywhere.
For a fine dining restaurant, Perry's was an extreme disappoinment.

MY REVIEW: My boyfriend and I took my son here, 21st birthday, last Friday. It was absolutely fantastic. I have been to R*uth's Chris and to P*appas Steakhouse and the filet that I got at Perry's was done to perfection and was like butter. My boyfriend got the pork chop, and as several other reviewers, it was to die for!! We got the ahi tuna appetizer which was out of this world. we had two side dishes, since what we ordered didn't come with anything, the spinach with garlic and butter and the lyonnaise potatoes, both were incredible and plenty for all 3 of us to share. The decor of the restaurant is very fancy, yet very comfortable. This was definately a place I will remember and one day hopefully get to return to. Oh, if it wasn't for my son getting us a gift cert. for $75 for Christmas, we maybe wouldn't have found this little gem so close to home, so quickly!! YUM YUM YUM.

MY REVIEW: We have tried both the Memorial City and the Champions locations, and found both of them to be great. The first visit to Memorial City was for our anniversary, and was a wonderful way to celebrate it. Our waiter was James who was very helpful and informative. We started with the Polish sausage appetizer which is almost a meal in itself. Then, I had a very nice turtle soup while the wife enjoyed a wedge salad altered precisely to her specifications. For entrees, the wife had the Chateau Briand special and I had the fabulous Seven-Fingered Pork Chop. The rib and the 'eyelash' portions were some of the best meat I have ever had. The smoky applewood flavor just spilled out of every bite, and the meat was extremely tender and juicy. I couldn't even touch the tenderloin section after eating the first 2 pieces, so it went home with us. I just don't see how anybody could be disappointed with that choice of meat. The Potatoes Au Grautin were to die for, and we had NO problems with the Bananas Foster that the restaurant comped for our anniversary.
The visit to Champions was very much in the same vain, but this time we both had rib eyes that fulfilled our every expection. And try the Warm Spinach Salad, you'll be glad you did.
Yes, the service at Perry's may be slow, and expect a couple of hours for your meal. But, like other fine restaurants, the Perry's experience is one to be savoyed and enjoyed, not rushed. If you're in a hurry, go to T*exas Land & Cattle or S*altgrass. But if you're wanting a fine dining experince, try Perry's.

MY REVIEW: We visited for a 2pm weekday lunch to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I have to say our party of 6 had plenty of time for visiting because the lunch took well over 2 hours. This was fine for our purposed but illustrates how painfully inattentive the server was (while the restaurant was mostly empty).
The restaurant itself looks nice. The food was okay but nothing special. I sampled the fried asparagus appetizer which was a little oily. My french onion soup could have been out of a can. The pork chop was good but not exceptional. We shared 2 desserts. The chocolate slice of something that was brought to my daughter was like a stiff, heavy block of fudge and the bananas foster was served over some sort of flavored ice cream which seemed too sugary sweet.
Somehow the entire experience was a dissappointment. I'd go to T*aste of Texas instead.

MY REVIEW: Strong points: the entire experience- polish sausage was a great app, perfectly dressed & seasoned apple? salad, husband had the filet mignon: crusty on the outside & warm on the inside/perfectly cooked & topped w/ butter, mine was the pineapple ckn: flavorful (a bit salty) & generous portion, sides were potatoes w/caramelized onions (has expectations set too high, they were okay), creamed spinach (freshly made) & macaroni & cheese (the best!!!), great atmosphere & ambiance, relaxed & friendly service on a Saturday night, not pretentious
Weak points: too much food for 2 people (if you can consider that a weak point), entire dinner took almost 2 hrs
Best place to eat in The Woodlands!
