MY REVIEW: I really enjoy this restaurant. Oysters are large and fresh, crawfish are delicious and perfectly seasoned and the pasta dishes with seafood are creative and delicious. All of this good food at reasonable prices.

This is a restaurant that you won't go home hungry.

MY REVIEW: I miss the Rice Village location but I am glad this one still exists. I love the blackened seafood on fettucini alfredo. Best I have ever had! The buffalo chicken tender appetizer is nice and spicy.

MY REVIEW: Enjoy dining at Bayou City because they serve the most flavorful cajun fare in the city. The Seafood Gumbo is the best in town and the Crawfish Ettoufee is to die for. The Boiled Crawfish are always extra large and spicy. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. I always finish my meal with a Peach Bread Pudding.

MY REVIEW: I decided to give it a second chance. Im not impressed. The gumbo is very watery, and the food was a little bland. Or waiter was also very blah. The first time I had one of the pasta dishes that was ok, so I decided to try again. Overall I would rate 5 out of 10, and would recommend with a warning (food not that seasoned).

MY REVIEW: I hadn't been here in years when a friend suggested it for lunch. As to the review below, we arrived at 11:45 and were the third group in line. Not bad at all. Our waiter (who looked like Kevin from Y&R) was friendly and efficient.

We each had gumbo which was good enough to rate 2nd in town (D*enis Wilson's is still #1). My friend had crawfish etouffee which was good and spicy and I had a shrimp po boy. Lots of fresh shrimp with just enough breading and such a large portion half went home in a doggy bag.

We usually don't eat desserts but my friend highly recommended the peach bread pudding. OMG, I said we should have had 3 of those for lunch. Very dense and moist with a cream sauce on top and pooled around it in the bowl. More than enough for two to split and worth a wait in line for that alone.

MY REVIEW: It took a moment for our rather large party to get seated --even with reservations-- but it was okay. We hung out at the bar and had a few drinks and the time went by quickly. By the time we were seated we were ready to chow, and they did not disappoint.

I have the feeling that this establishment's strongest points are their seafood pastas. After ordering I casually eyed the plates of others who didn't order the pastas and they didn't seem too appetizing. My dish --the Pasta Liberty was really good.

I liked the creamy sauce with a bit of wine to even out the seafood flavors and they were very accomodating when I asked for scallops instead of crawfish (I have never developed a taste for those odd, shrimplike creatures). At first the waiter was going to charge a bit extra, but later informed me (and my sister who ordered the exact same dish) that there wouldn't be an upcharge.

That said, the Liberty pasta was fresh, thick, rich, and saucy. It was quite good. There was an odd fishy smell, and we attributed it to the crab that was in the dish, and not the excellent shrimp, lobster, and pasta (cooked just right). It was a really great dish and folks that ordered the Pasta Zeus (almost the same dish I believe except with the addition of a few different vegetables).

Service was good and our waiter was really patient with a large party that kept changing our minds on dishes. Food, once ordered came out of the kitchen hot and not too long a wait.

The place is small and since it was my first time (a Sunday afternoon) I wondered what the lines are like during the week or dinner time.

I would definitely suggest this restaurant and their pastas.

MY REVIEW: My husband, myself and my little girl went this past weekend. The food was excellent; however the service was poor. The waiter had a dry personality. He did not come back to the table after we received our food from someone else.

I needed a to-go-box and he left the box on the table along with the bag, and did not offer to box my food like the other waiters were doing. Not only that as I was boxing my food, he took the bag back along with the other items he was clearing from the table. I had to ask him for another bag. He asked me if he brought one to the table and I told him he took it and he looked at me as if something was wrong with me.

It's a shame the service was not good at all because that is the main thing I will remember. We will give it another try since the food was good, but if the service is the same; I will have to find a new restaurant!

MY REVIEW: Been looking for some original New Orleans food in the "H" town. Ordered the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo to start. It was tasty but not "original". No Reaux, no okra. Then an Oyster Poboy. It was good, bread is not "French" but more like a roll, and they put thousand island dressing which I really do not care for on a sandwhich. You just can't duplicate the real thang! But I was hungry for some home food and it was good enough, I'll go back again.

MY REVIEW: Traveled into town for the Texan/Eagles game and was told by the front staff of the Westin that the best seafood restaurant in Houston was Bayou City Seafood & Pasta close by to the Galleria. The restaurant was very busy yet the service was friendly and efficient. The food was AWESOME!!! I especially enjoyed the Pasta Zeus and my wife raved about the Mahi-Mahi which was topped with Jumbo Shrimp and Crabmeat. For the quality and size portions of the entrees I can see why the staff at the hotel highly reccomended Bayou City to us.

MY REVIEW: Entertained clients for lunch today and everyone was impressed by the quality of food and service. The Seafood Gumbo is still the best in town and the Pasta Justice and the Snapper Courtney were fresh and full of delicious seafood.

Too full for dessert but when my wife heard I was dining at Bayou City she had me get the Peach Bread Pudding to go!!

MY REVIEW: One of the things I miss most about having moved from Houston is Bayou City Seafood. I always try to get my "fix" when I am in town because even though I now live in Fairhope, Alabama, where the plentiful seafood is wonderful -- I still have found no other place which makes gumbo, crab bisque, or shrimp scampi that even comes close to that at Bayou City.

Recently, four of my gal pals and I enjoyed a fun-filled Friday evening here. We wanted to be a little noisy so we all decided it would be neat to eat in the almost-flled bar (which is a lot of fun at any hour). The dining room filled quickly, and we observed many families, as well as couples, enjoying large platters of fried shrimp and fish, and pasta dishes. The menu is so varied, and the pasta selections so diverse, it really made it difficult for me not to go totally "overboard!" Fortunately, my friends were all in a generous mood so we all had little nibbles of a wide assortment of items from the menu...yum, yum, yum!!! You will see what I mean....

Our drinks were large and honest (!) and the prices were all very reasonable. I can honestly say that we were all very satisfied. The waitstaff were all cheerful and attentive. Shane, the nice barkeep, was exceptionally nice and made certain that our grou was well cared for. Now that I have read some of the other reviews on this great restaurant, I find it hard to believe that we were in the same restaurant those grumpy people wrote about.

Please, believe this review -- the delicious food, service, and atmosphere, are all top notch!

You will NOT be disappointed.

MY REVIEW: I went to Bayou City yesterday and had a great dining experience. I started off with a cup of seafood gumbo which was flavorful and full of seafood but not thickened which I prefer. However the Snapper Cheyenne which followed was awesome! Definitely one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. The copious tomato sauce that covered it had definite heat and delicious flaver and was filled with more seafood. It was so generous I had to take half home. Because of my diabetes, I can have very little rice, so I asked to have more of the broccoli that came with the snapper. I'm a vegetable lover and I got plenty of broccoli to satisfy me.

The service was attentive enough without being overbearing. From complaints about service in other reviews, I can conclude the management has taken care of the problem or the service is spotty.

MY REVIEW: WOW!! What is up with all the grumpy reviews!? This place ROCKS!! The food is outstanding, service is always frindly, helpful, and welcoming, atmosphere is perfect for me. The hostess these people complain of, made our evening. The store manager stopped by our table (and the ones around ours) just to make sure evryone was satisfied. Marvin Zinler LOVES this place too. I've seen him here a few times. My canjun friends wouldn't pass up an evening here when they come into town. A+++ Always recommed this place. Thanks Bayou City. :)

MY REVIEW: First time at Bayou City and the food lived up to their reputation. However, the service was lacking. I work with folks that swear by this place so I was prepared for an awesome dining experience. If the hostess had flipped her long, stringy hair off her shoulder (hopefully it didnt fall into any of the other guests plates) before I got to my table I would have cut it off for her! Then my waiter seemed to be new, ok, I will give him some slack, but hey - if you dont know something, ask for help, just dont tell a customer you dont know the answer and walk away - who is training these people? Food was outstanding but they need to work on training the waitstaff a little professionalism and polish!

MY REVIEW: Wow - how can the food be soo good and the service (waiters and hostess) be so BAD! What a shame because I heard so many great things about this restaurant. The waiter was grumpy, acted like he would rather be anywhere but waiting on me, and before I even got to my seat I was greated by a less than enthusiastic hostess who was dressed like she had come from the beach to work - what is up? I will give them a second chance because the food was AWESOME, but please, please do something about the hired help!

MY REVIEW: THE FOOD IS GREAT, GREAT, GREAT. BUT THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE, I MEAN HORRIBLE, DID I SAY THE SERVICE HORRIBLE. THE WORST SERVICE EVER. THE MANAGEMENT SUCKS, BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY THIS HAS CONTINUED FOR SOME LENGHTH OF TIME BY THE DATES ON THE REVIEWS. I HATE TO RETURN BUT THEY HAVE THE BEST PASTA AND CRAWFISH BISQUE EVER. EVER TIME I GO I PRAY FOR A GOOD SERVICE, BUT NOW I KNOW IF THE SERVICE SUCKS SO WILL THE SERVERS TIP.

Later he returned and said they were closed....i will never return to this place again

MY REVIEW: I brought my husand there for the first time, he is a really picky eater, and he ate everything brought out to him. The cook came out of the kitchen to ask him what he liked in his pasta, and then made him something off the menu. Two day later and my husband can't stop talking about the place. We're going back tomorrow!

MY REVIEW: Great food, not so friendly hostess! Take note - if you have a favorite waiter at Bayou City. They have a new hostess and it wont make her happy if you make a special request - what a shame.

MY REVIEW: Went on my birthday, which should have really been spent somewhere else in retrospect.

From the moment we walked in the door, I felt we were somehow in the waiting staff's way?... Our waiter was tense and we felt we were being humored just by being served by his highness, which is SUPER screwed up. I receieved a really filthy glass for my beer. When I asked for a clean one, the 2nd one was not much better. I drank my beer from the bottle from that point. The gumbo had bubbles in it (I don't think this is normal). I was left wondering if someone were tampering with our food, but of course a strong suspicion really doesn't say enough. We won't eat here again, and I won't recommend this place to anyone I actually like.

MY REVIEW: One of the best, if not the best, seafood gumbos in Houston. I think it has even gotten better over the years. My favorite entree is the snapper cheyenne. Its fairly spicy with lots of fresh broccoli. The lunch specials are very inexpensive and they are huge. If you are really hungry, get the gumbo/po boy lunch special. You get a cup of gumbo, with garlic bread, and a po-boy(I get crawfish) and a mound of some of the best french fries i know of.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I try to go a couple times a month, and the food is very good and consistent. My favorite is the shrimp etouffee. We don't have to wait (but we go early), and it's a small enough place that you can actually carry on a conversation - it's not noisy, at least in the restaurant area. We'll continue to go back!

MY REVIEW: I'll start off by saying i was excited about going to this place. I had nothing but great things about it. Well i was very disappointed with the food. I had crawfish and let me tell you i hate to have a craving and then peel the first one and have the whole lot not boiled long enough. The meat was so slimy (due to not been boiled long enough) then it was bad. The only thing i did eat that was good was the chesse sticks and i guess you can't mess that up due to pre-packaged. I rate this a 0 and i'm let my friends and family know.
