MY REVIEW: Last night was "steak night" at Big John's and a friend of mine has been telling me how great it is, so we decided to try it out last night. Wow, every Wednesday night for $10.00 you get a great (big) steak, salad, twice baked potato, corn on the cob, bread, and spiced apples. The steak was very well seasoned and tender. I would recommend this "steak night", as it is much better than some of the other local bars/pubs in the area. They are much much larger than your hand, and are just perfect. I don't really have much bad to say about the Ice House, except for the lack of good A/C. MY REVIEW: Nothing fancy. Typical pub grub. The kitchen carries it off well, though. Everything is cooked to order when ordered from burgers to fries. No heat lamps or precooked fixins in sight. They've got a $10.00 steak night on Wednesday. I didn't expect a steakhouse steak, so it wasn't a tragic meal. Lots of food, but the steak can be chewy. They should come up with a signature "Big John's Something" and spend a little time tenderizing the steaks. It's worth a stop for that Saturday afternoon after chores or shopping burger. Kitchen not open same hours the bar is. Call ahead to make sure.
