Big John's Ice House

MY REVIEW: We've been driving by Big John's for a long time now and have always wondered about it. We finally made it in and so glad that we did. One doesn't think an ice house will have good food but we were not let down. Hamburgers were on our mind and I think Big John's is our new favorite place for just that. The patties were huge with a lot of flavor and the french fries and onion rings were very good as well. Our cold beer was even served to us in a mug right out of the freezer. This place is very laid back and the staff we came across was very friendly. We look forward to going back!

MY REVIEW: Big John's has become our favorite bar/restaurant. It's a good place for a few drinks and a great porkchop. I have never had a bad meal there. SOmetimes the service is a little slow. But we like the atmmosphere and the laid back attitude.

MY REVIEW: The pub grub side of the menu is still perkin' right along. They've just rolled out a new group of ... I'll call 'em ... "diner dinners". Reminds me of the old Blue Plate Specials found in diners and lunch counters everywhere. Once again, the kitchen carries it off well.

Not a bad place for lunch or dinner ... if you like an icehouse environ.

MY REVIEW: Crystal served us a great plate of beef fajita nachos! It was so large that we couldn't finish it! (She also served us some stiff Vodka and Tonics!) She is always professional and attentive. We will be back to see her!

MY REVIEW: Last night was "steak night" at Big John's and a friend of mine has been telling me how great it is, so we decided to try it out last night.

Wow, every Wednesday night for $10.00 you get a great (big) steak, salad, twice baked potato, corn on the cob, bread, and spiced apples. The steak was very well seasoned and tender. I would recommend this "steak night", as it is much better than some of the other local bars/pubs in the area.

MY REVIEW: The food at Big John's Ice house is amazing. The burger that is made, to die for. They are much much larger than your hand, and are just perfect. I don't really have much bad to say about the Ice House, except for the lack of good A/C. It can get pretty hot in the summertime, but you've got big fans, great drinks, good friends, and GREAT food to cool you off. :D

MY REVIEW: Nothing fancy. Typical pub grub. The kitchen carries it off well, though. Everything is cooked to order when ordered from burgers to fries. No heat lamps or precooked fixins in sight.

They've got a $10.00 steak night on Wednesday. I didn't expect a steakhouse steak, so it wasn't a tragic meal. Lots of food, but the steak can be chewy.

They should come up with a signature "Big John's Something" and spend a little time tenderizing the steaks.

It's worth a stop for that Saturday afternoon after chores or shopping burger. Kitchen not open same hours the bar is. Call ahead to make sure.
