Profile Description: A South American-style restaurant that incorporates the flavors of Latin American cuisine and utilizes high-quality American ingredients. Signature items include the Churrasco, a charcoal-grilled center-cut beef tenderloin steak; Tres Leches dessert - vanilla cake laced with three sweet creams and topped with a light meringue and Cordua’s signature plantain chips and chimichurri sauce are served on every table.

MY REVIEW: Silverware jockeys, every time your fork touches the plate they scramble to bring you a new one. Iced tea service a bit slow, frequently had to chew ice. A bit pricey for the quality, but overall a good menu. I ordered the red snapper, apparently so fresh they missed the bone that was in it. For $29, a bit disappointing to have to spit out the fish.

MY REVIEW: Strong points:
- food was decent, but nothing special

Weak points:
- service and staff was rude and unprofessional. Is it that hard to get a spoon for an ice tea, get a glass of water when someone requests it, or maybe some utensils?

- they charge a cutting fee. We brought in our own cake for a birthday party and they charged $2 per slice. I know for next time and we will not go to a restaurant that will not accommodate us when we want to eat our own cake, which they do not have on their menu. Apparently this isn't uncommon, but it was my first encounter. We should have taken the cake outside and eaten it for free =)

- too expensive. Your money will be better spent elsewhere for better food and service

- crowded and awkward seating. Why put 2 parties next to each other in the middle of the room, when there is plenty of place elsewhere?

All in all, avoid at all costs

MY REVIEW: I was searching this website for Sunday brunch and Churrrascos came up. I was excited because I haven't been to this restaurant in quite some time. I was not disappointed by any means. We made our reservations online and arrived on time. We were seated immediately and made very comfortable by the waitstaff. In addition to brunch items, the entire menu was available.

We ordered a pitcher of the mimosas which were made with FRESH squeezed orange juice. We were served plaintains and muffins which were right out of the oven. Our meal was fantastic. I was so overwhelmed with the outstanding service in addition to the food that I made reservations for the wine dinner in a week. I am looking forward to returning for that event. I want to especially thank Juan and Miguel for making sure that our visit was memorable.

MY REVIEW: the wine selection was good. the empanaditas appetizer was divine! the crust was buttery and flaky and the assorted fillings were good. i had the mixed grill which has beef, pork, chicken, shrimp and chorizo sausage. it was a great way to try out their proteins. my bf ordered the salmon dish that came with shrimp on top od a tomato. it may sound plain but the flavor was really good. my bf hates tomatoes and he ate it all up! he said he really enjoyed it! the entrees come with a centered "sides" dish that has grilled potatoes, zuchini(spelling error?) fried yucca bites, seasoned white grain rice and candied carrots. everything was delicious. my bf and i packed our entrees to go so that we had room for dessert. we ordered a chocolate truffle dessert that came with a really simple raspberry sauce. the truffle dessert was topped with a cold creme brulee. the texture contrast was really goood.

service was okay.
our drinks were refilled at a good pace.
nice ambiance, big rooms and romantic. i went on a friday night when it was raining...maybe that's why it was not as loud and crowded as others have mentioned.

i will definitely go here again!

MY REVIEW: I have been here twice now, once at lunch during the week and once at dinner on Sunday. The food was excellent both times. No complaints on that score whatsoever. The executive lunch is a really good deal if you like this food and don't want to spend a lot of money. The churrasco is one of the best steaks you can get and the vegetables that came with it were top notch.

My only complaint stems from my "date night" there - for a supposedly upscale place with the prices as high as they are, they either need to not allow children in or make a concerted effort to seat the families in one room and people who did not bring children with them in another.

The restaurant was not even close to full, but they took my boyfriend and I to the crowded back room where most of the tables had kids at them. The acoustics are terrible so the noise echoed and really detracted from the mood of our romantic dinner. It was totally unnecessary also, as there were but a handful of couples seated in the center room.

If we do go back for a "date" I will make a reservation for a "quiet" table. But I will probably skip it and just go here for lunch, and have our date nights somewhere where the hosts have a bit more sense or where kids are not permitted. We dine with our kids all the time - if we're going out for a nice meal, we don't want to deal with other peoples'.

MY REVIEW: A couple of weeks ago one of our Executives came to town from our corporate office in Atlanta. My manager and I decided to take him to Churrascos for lunch. This was the first time for all of us and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the executive lunch and it was aboslutely wonderful. From the fried plantains to the salad to the salmon to the tres leches. Everything was excellent. The tres leches was the best I have ever had. For $15.00 you cannot beat this deal. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent. I will definitely go back again and again.

MY REVIEW: My friend and I went for brunch one recent Sunday. We decided to do the brunch buffet, as we had passed it on the way to our seats and it looked delicious. They had French Toast and Belgian Waffles, next to which they had 3 types of whipped cream, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries. They had a variety of salads, a pasta bar, several types of fish, chicken, different types of meat, yucca, plantains, hash browns, sausage, bagels, eggs with chorizo, tortillas, empanadas, grilled vegetables and several other items.

I choose French Toast with berries which was nice. The yucca was tender, but very oily. The plantains were excellent. My friend did the pasta bar, where she told the server what she wanted in her sauce and he made it right in front of her. She also had a salad. She was pleased with the pasta. We both drank ice tea.

Imagine our shock when we got the bill--- it was $28 a person with tax! (34 with tip) So, yes it was good, but if I had know it was that expensive, I would have either 1) Gone to another place or 2) Gotten something other then French Toast!

MY REVIEW: I have been to the Westchase location twice and both times were wonderful, filling experiences. The staff was very attentative and my glass was never empty until I cut them off. My first visit I had the executive lunch complete with drink and dessert. The chicken was fabulous and and I could barely get down the desert because I was stuffed. Our table ordered the empanadas for an appetizer which were OK but not the best I've had. My secod visit I had the 8 ounce filet special topped with lump crab meat sided with grilled asparagus and grilled, marinated portabellas. All I can say is WOW! By far, the best steak I have had since moving to Houston in 2002. The sides and the plate of veggies accompanying the luncheon was a nice compliment. The atmosphere at lunch is a bit noisy but only a minor inconvenience to enjoy such a good meal!

MY REVIEW: Sorry but this restaurant has gone from my list of places to go. They appear to have lost the passion they used to have, and the serving staff have a poor attitude during our visit but I can accept that this was one occasion.

In our party some of the food came colder than acceptable and the starters were too expensive. Best to order your own indivudual starter rather than the expensive mixed platter which they always seem to push.

I did mention this to the Maitre d' and the repsonse was lukewarm to say the least. Such a shame, but there are now far better examples of this style of food and of better value.

MY REVIEW: Had the executive lunch special there today and it was superb and excelent value. I had the bacon wrapped chicken and my guest had the puntas. The white wine was chilled to perfection and the table and presentation of the fod were tops. Service was very good and we were not hurried. I haven't been there in a while but it is now back on my favorites list.

MY REVIEW: We ordered the signature dish, which is butterflied grilled tenderloin basted in a garlicky chimichurri sauce and found it wonderful. The fried banana strips and the red sauce where great also. The meal comes with a plate of vegetables that really set the meal off. The waitress who was really good brought us more vegetables compliments of the house. The recommended desert was large enough for two and was a homerun with us!

MY REVIEW: Excellent food. Don't hesitate going to this place if you've never been. The Churrasco steak is one of the best cuts of meat you'll ever eat. Like so many fine restaurants, it helps to control the waiter's tempo in order to make the meal a complete dining experience (ie order an appetizer and/or drinks and then when you're done with that, order your meal).

MY REVIEW: If you're going to visit Churrascos, I recomend going to River Oaks (2055 Westheimer). The lunch scene is a great place to go out with your coworkers, clients, and even boss. For dinner, they have a real nice, intimate ambiance, great place to impress people. I can't say the food is the best I've ever had, but it was good. Prices can be reasonable, depending on what you are looking for- you can get a few chicken plates or a tilapia plate for $12 or you can go for a $54 16oz steak.

I've been to both Churrascos and while I enjoyed the one at River Oaks, I was pretty disapointed with the one at Westchase (9705 Westheimer). I guess it was the crowd that turned me off..it was extremely noisy I had to shout when speaking to the people at my table. The food was pretty much the same as it was on 2055, but the ambiance and decor were not as impressive as River Oaks. The one thing that was perfect at both locations was the tres leches. Honestly, it is the best I've EVER had.

MY REVIEW: This location has gone downhill in a big way. The food was marginal (when it used to be fantastic), the services was ok (even though the waitress put a straw in my martini), and it appears that they allow patrons to wear sweat pants (who knew you could come straight from the gym)! I have eaten dinner many times at this location however I do not intend to spend any money at this restaurant again! Spend your money elsewhere, trust me!

MY REVIEW: I haven't been here in a while because I heard the quality of the food went downhill. I just went there for lunch today and the food was SUPERB! I ordered their executive lunch. For $15 I got a salad, pan seared chicken breast with mashed potatoes and the best tres leches I have ever had in my life! I thought the portions were small at first, but after eating dessert, I had to loosen my jeans. I can't wait to go back again!

MY REVIEW: I used to go to this location every week, but it's been a long time since I've been there. They have a new open bar with a larger seating area and lovely art glass lamps framed in the doorway. I brought my dinner club Eight Friends Out here for brunch. The consensus was that the Torrejos were too sweet--too much like dessert so then it was hard to eat more sweet...The omelette topped with shrimp and bacon was the hands-down favorite. Everyone loved the yuca and bean filled empanada at the first course. And although the Tres Leches cake is a favorite, the chocolate mousse creation was both beautiful and creamy-delicious, a tower of choclate layers with a flan on top and white chocolate spires. The service was superb!!! The Sangrias were giant.

MY REVIEW: I was in the restaurant enjoying a nice lunch with a friend when we were approached by a gentlemen (I assumed he was a hostess) that asked us to leave. He stated he had a private party waiting to be seated in the area we were sitting in and that if we would leave, he would give us a free meal. Instead he handed me one of the restaurant cards with 2 free deserts written (by him) on the back of the card. Of course, I left the card on the table.

Frankly, we had spent a fair amount of money in the restaurant for our lunch and were extremely insulted that we even being approached by anyone asking us to leave. Up until today I have had many pleasant experiences at this restaurant as well as Americas and Amazon Grill. However, after today I will not step foot in there again and I will do my level best to discourage anyone that will listen to me to not patronage this establishment.

MY REVIEW: I was reluctant to go to Churrasco's ever again because two previous times the food was awful. Then a friend coerced me into tryng it again and we had the executive lunch which was excellent. $14.99 and it included choice of entree and desert with all the chips and usual salad/soup choice. My favorite used to be pollo encamisada when they kept the chicken breast small and flat with the black bean sauce etc. However the last two times I tried this it was a huge unflattened chicken breast that spread from one side the plate to the other and was somehow unappetizing. I will, of course return since things seem to have improved a lot. Maybe it will become my favorite place again.

MY REVIEW: I should say everyone USED to know my name. A few years ago this was a very nice, upscale restaurant. Perhaps the openining of Churrascos in Clear Lake helped kill it, since service there sucked and people didn't seem to know how to dress up for a nice restaurant. Anyway, the portions have gotten so small there that I was embarrassed when my co-workers and I attended for a lunch. Several vegetables are brought out on a plate to feed everyone and we had to ask two or three times if the waiter would bring more. Service has gone downhill. The food is still tasty, but the only way I would return is if I had an extreme craving for tres leches.
