MY REVIEW: We ordered chicken salad sandwich and tuna salad sandwich. Both were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Atmosphere is quirky. Perhaps I'll need to try their breakfast out!

MY REVIEW: Buffalo Grille is simply an alternative to the corporate fare offered by I*HOP and W*affle House. The food is superior to those places but not extraordinary.
Compared to other boutique-type restaurants, the food is plentiful and very reasonably priced. Pancakes, migas, biscuits, and burritos are large and can be pumped up in flavor with the free salsa and jelly. The coffee is tasty.
First time customers familiar with Texan dining will associate the ambience with that akin to standard Austin area diners (M*agnolia Cafe, K*erbey Lane).
While the overall experience is average, Buffalo Grille will satisfy those searching for a "neighborhood place" rather than a food factory on the side of the freeway.

MY REVIEW: The chicken & dumplings at this place would be more correctly named "dumplings with almost no chicken".
Overpriced.
However, the pancackes and pretty good.

MY REVIEW: Hesitant to go due to reviews, however Citysearch gave it a decent review. The cinnamon coffee was pretty good. I thought the combinations of offerings were not as strong as I would have liked. The omelet was OK, nothing to rave about. The biscuit that came with it, as a side, was a not that fresh, however if it had just come out of the oven, would have been really good. The french toast was OK as well. Overall, I would give it a 5 out of 10, although I am probably not going to go back anytime soon. If you want a great breakfast The Breakfast K*lub is where its at.

MY REVIEW: I went with family here once hoping to show them a local spot. We were all disappointed as the food was over-priced and per many reviews here very bland. I'd pick an IHOP anytime over this place.

MY REVIEW: Someone is going to have to explain the draw to this place. How in the world is it popular? Why does it seem to get so many writeups? Why are there so many people waiting in line 20 minutes?????
This was the 3rd time my wife and daughter dragged me to Buffalo Grille to eat bland, overpriced breakfast. The eggs are flavorless. The "Mexican" food is tasteless. It just tastes like something I would make myself in college when I could afford the ingredients but no condiments or spices.
The wait is outrageous, the prices are too high, and for a city that has such good food, why is this place so popular? I'll never understand it. It's like eating in Dallas; expensive, bland, and time-consuming.

MY REVIEW: I've never ventured beyond eggs over easy, toast and grits because the eggs are perfectly done. Grits are good. So is orange juice; tastes like the real thing, not tang like some fancier places. Bacon sometimes overdone, but I like it nevertheless.
My wife and daughter have tried the pancake and no complaints. You get only one, but it's 14 inches or so in diameter.
Coffee is good. Cinnamon coffee is interesting, although I only tasted it.
Service is very good. There is often a big line, but it moves reasonably well and you don't have to wait long after you place your order. Prices are higher than I was used to in New Orleans for same quality food, but that seems the rule here unless you want the I*HOP or D*enny's.
The seating situation is scary. You may see no tables open when you walk in, but the turnover is fast enough so you don't have to wait for a table.

MY REVIEW: I've had breakfast here once before and the American breakfast was delicious while my husband's Tex-Mex was not good. We tried them for dinner and ordered $40 worth of food to try a variety. We were so disappointed we will not go back. The chicken fried steak was gigantic but atrocious. It went to waste. The caesar salads were in a very big bowl and only $4.95, but again, were terrible. They added dill or rosemary or some spice that overwhelmed it and as much as I love caesar salad, I just couldn't eat theirs. The pecan-crusted catfish was delicious and the ONLY thing at the entire meal that was good. We got apple pie and a brownie which both had a store-bought, sitting-on-a-shelf-too-long taste. Have they changed cooks or is breakfast the only meal to eat here?

MY REVIEW: My parents (who are as unadventurous as you can get when it comes to food) like this place, so I end up here for lunch or weekend breakfast much, much more frequently than I prefer. The popularity of this place amazes me. I attribute it to the fact that there just aren't enough places in Houston that serve breakfast.
Strong point -- For breakfast, the Tex-Mex offerings are decent.
Weak points -- What some people may call "comfort food" I call bland and one-dimensional. Few vegetables are offered that have not been rendered either mushy (by overcooking) or unhealthy (by deep frying). Their french fries are lackluster.
Overall, if you typically like the type of food on the menu at Buffalo Grille, you won't hate the food here. They are not the best at what they do, but a restaurant can only do so much with a menu like theirs.

MY REVIEW: PLEASE don't order "breakfast any time" at this restaurant! I ordered breakfast at 1:00 p.m. Monday because their sign said that breakfast was served any time - and I thought this meant that it was cooked fresh upon ordering. When my $7:00 (plus) order was ready, I was served with flattened out "scrambled eggs" (no fluff or moisture), a biscuit that was dry and very old, hashbrowns that were a transparent gray color with a brown crust, and burned bacon that was as dry as the imitation bacon that comes in a jar. Although the hashbrowns looked hideous, I took a taste to see if they actually were potatoes. They actually WERE grated raw potatoes that had turned gray - and were only cooked on the top. I was afraid to get food poisoning so I had them substitute with an order of grits. The grits were awful - a bowl of runny grits with a big lump in the middle. There are a lot of "old-timers" who congregate at this restaurant and I am not sure WHY. I won't be a member of the old-timers gang because I am so disappointed in the food recently served to me. Maybe they need new cooks!

MY REVIEW: From the long line, one would think this offers one of the best breakfasts around. We went there today and I decided in honor of the Mexico vs. Iran game to order from the Tex-mex portion of the breakfast menu. I was quite disappointed to find that the hot sauce they offer is bland store-bought salsa. It tasted to me like Pace Picante sauce. For me, that was enough to take this restaurant off my list. Depending on your tastes, here are a few other things to consider. The flour tortillas were thick and undercooked in parts. The refried beans had a very strong lard taste. The potatoes that went with my huevos were undercooked. The restaurant is very loud and definitely not the place for a leisurely breakfast where you can read your Sunday paper.

MY REVIEW: I hadn't been here is a long tme because my work location had changed...well, I'm back. They haven't changed a thing... the cooks, the wait staff, the cleaning crew... it's all as friendly and efficient as ever.
You want breakfast - it's the best you'll ever find, with great egg combination, think bacon, gristleless ham, exceptional pancakes, and the best urn or coffee you ever tried to empty before you went to work. It's the breakfast I remember of several years ago and so far, in three weeks, I've had six of them.
Now lunch is a different story. I have a weakness for red beans and rice with sausage and they do it right, The sausage is of local manufactury, a beef-pork and garlic kielbasa type and they place about 6-8 1/2" slices on top of some of the best red beans you'll ever eat (and that includes two other Cajun speciality restaurants within driving distance.) RB&S is #9 on the chalk board and one of the Monday specials. And the meatloaf came right from my Mom's cookbook.
And now they serve DINNER...same chalk board menu...just later hours! If we finish the day and don't feel like cooking, L*uby's is gone! Buffalo's open!
Tomorrow's another day...another experience...and I'm looking forwerd to it. I have never been diaappointed here in 12 years.

MY REVIEW: I went for breakfast and it was O.K. I do think the pancakes are better than I*HOP's and the coffee was not hot but almost cold. I did not like the flour tortillas, they should consider using Corn tortillas, even though IT IS Tex-Mex; also the Tortillas were cold. I think maybe I will try it again for lunch but not breakfast.

MY REVIEW: Buffalo Grille's hearty servings draw big crowds for breakfast and lunch. The staggering list of offerings pleases everyone, and 15 minutes is about all you'll ever wait for the food to come out. Dinner could be better. Specialties such as fried catfish or chicken fried chicken sounded great but came out over-cooked and over-battered. Served with sides that had been steaming all day, the food quality smacked more of a cafeteria line than a home cooked meal. Buffalo Grille fills the gap between fast food and sit down restaurant style. Friendly order takers and cashiers are always nice, and the outside patios are great. The interior of the restaurant is comfortable, clean and pleasant. Maybe cut back the offerings and upgrade the food quality at dinnertime?
