MY REVIEW: Upon walking in, the layer of smoke told me something. "I'm going home with you". I stank all day! I ordered the overpriced burger (4.65$). It was small, paper thin meat, with little taste. The french fries were better. No combos and jalapenos are laid by an golden goose apparently cause they charge too much for them. (Common It's just a jalapeno). Service was average. Overated, won't be back. Try Stant@ns buger. It's better better and better.

MY REVIEW: Well I was taken there once last year under the promise of visiting the Mecca of burgerdom and came away not nearly as impressed as I was led to believe I would be.
I decided after reading the reviews preceding this one to give it another shot and I came away with the same feelings: not a bad burger at all, but not anywhere near what the hype demands. The buns are nicely toasted but are not very nice buns at all, the meat is decent, but the flavor cannot overpower any of the condiments. The cheese melts right out of the bun onto the paper. Like I said it's not bad, but I can find at least a dozen far superior burgers in the area, in fact one of the decisively better burgers is less than a mile away under the freeway.
The ambiance is another thing, I am nuts for retro and I love being taken back in time by my surroundings, but this place just has a dank, dark, dingy feel about it. kind of reminds me of my grandmothers trailer circa 1972 or one of the low rent northside beer joints we used to have to go drag my uncle Larry out of on the way to rehab.
If you like it, fine I don't want to talk you out of it, but shut already about "Houston's best burger"
I may eat there again someday, but in my own personal search of the ultimate burger this joint is way down the list of contenders

MY REVIEW: I finally went to Bellaire Broiler Burger this past weekend after passing it by for years. I'm always on a quest for that "perfect" burger, and I finally found it! Total greaseburger, but oh so good. That place smells and feels like places I used to go in Mississippi as a kid, and the burger was as good as any I remember. To top it off, they serve crinkle fries, which are my favorite with a good burger. I will now be back again and again.

MY REVIEW: Bellaire Broiler Burger (formerly B*rittain's Broiler Burger)...an institution since at least 1960... I remember eating there as a child and so many other times as an adult. Simply no other burger to compare... Sure it's a little dump but sooooo what... I don't go there for the ambience but for the burger. And yes they are in quite a hurry to serve you and a little irritated to give you refills on those drinks. Isn't that something started by Burger King or whatever? Enjoy it now as it might not be there in the future and we all just have bs memories about this place, F*ootes Cafeteria, P*rices Hamburgers, G*riffs, Burger C*hef, Damon Hardware and the like.

MY REVIEW: I love this place. They have great burgers and it's like stepping back into time. It seems like nothing has been touched for years!
The only problem, when you go there, prepare to smell like a cheeseburger until you shower! You should also be prepared for the characters who work at the place. I consider it part of the charm but they certainly seem rushed to get your order and annoyed to give you a refill.

MY REVIEW: I agree with the previous comments about how great their burgers are. Also, they have put up No Smoking signs, so if you passed this place up on account of cigarette smoke, this place should be no problem for you now.

MY REVIEW: A Bellaire institution. An old-fashioned burger joint. Outstanding hamburgers!

MY REVIEW: This is a Bellaire Institution that has truly stood the test of time. Great burgers, shakes, onion rings, and the appropriate ambiance. The wait can get a little long, but well worth it.

MY REVIEW: This place makes great burgers. As far as interior design goes the Bellaire Broiler Burger is never going to win any prizes, but they make up for it with a fantastic burger. I drove from Sugar Land with my wife and youngest son (who thought I was crazy going that far for a burger), but on the way home they were singing my praises (and Broiler Burger's). Get the bacon cheeseburger if you want a great burger experience.

MY REVIEW: One of the best burgers in the area. The Bellaire Special with bacon, drag it through the garden w/ fries. You cannot go wrong with any of their burgers. Ambiance is so overrated. Great burger with a cold brew, what more could a girl ask for?

MY REVIEW: Who couldn't love the Bellaire Broiler Burger???!!! I grew up in Bellaire too. This place been around longer than I have been alive, and I'm no spring chicken. I still love it and the people are very nice. I swear one would think I was out in the sticks (if I didn't know any better) with the down home country atmosphere. Ok so it's a little smoky sometimes, the city of Houston has passed a new nonsmoking law in restaurants. So maybe that will kick in at the Broiler(maybe). I can't wait to go back for another burger!!

MY REVIEW: Like others who have reviewed, I grew up in Bellaire/Sharpstown as a kid of the 60's and 70's and we used to always come here on Friday nights. The Bellaire Broiler Burger "taste" is unique and I have searched everywhere for the same flavor to no avail. They also have the best "krinkle-cut" fries around, again no match. If there is any complaint I have is that it seems that, for the amount of food you get, the prices are a little steep. I would go more often if the price was less (or portions larger). I can eat one of their burgers in about two bites and I'm ready for another one, but not for that price. Also, can get smoky (from cigarettes, too - not just the broiler itself) However, still one of my favorite (1950's decor and all) burger joints of all time.

MY REVIEW: The Bellaire Broiler Burger is an institution in Bellaire. I am 41 years old and I grew up in Bellaire. I cannot remember when the Broiler Burger did not exist. I was practically weaned and was certainly raised on their bacon cheesebugers and o-rings. This is not your run-of-the-mill burger joint. Yes, it is old and dumpy... that is what creates the ambience of the joint, but you absolutely will not find a better burger anywhere in the Houston area. There is just "something" about the flavor of their bacon that creates that special bacon cheesburger. This is definitely a must visit for those looking for the perfect burger in Houston.

MY REVIEW: The first time I ever went there I was just a tyke and The Sharpstown Drive In Movie Theatre had just opened. My father took us there and after about 35 years, I went back last year. It is still just as good as it was then. It is hands down the best burger in Houston!! Next may be T*ookie's. But Bellaire Broiler Burger is the best hamburger in Texas!! I would rather eat there than C*apitol Grille. They will know my name sooner or later because I have been back about 7 times in the past year and I live in Clear Lake now.

MY REVIEW: Once upon a time this was a great place with great burdgers and all the fixings. Now it's just a dumpy, rundown, sad, smoke-filled spot. Too bad.

MY REVIEW: The Bellaire Broiler Burger is one of the best hamburgers you can buy anywhere. It is an old family owned business. It is not a franchise. If you are near the intersection of Bellaire and Bissonnet, or on Loop 610 between SH 59 and Beechnut, then stop by this old place for the best hamburger in Harris County. -- BB

MY REVIEW: Flame broiled burgers - specialty are bacon cheeseburgers. Thick onion rings and shakes. Small dining room & it can get smoky! Good place to go for a real Two-Handed Hamburger.
