MY REVIEW: I'm a BBQ fanatic and I've tried many restaurants until I was told about this place about 4 years ago and since then I've been hooked.one of my favorites is the baked potato...I kid you not that it's the biggest potato and most delicious you'll ever have.

MY REVIEW: Dry chicken, boring sauce -
I tried their 1/2 chicken plate special today and didn't think much of their offering. I paid almost $10 for a small, dry chicken with little sauce, potato salad, beans and ice tea. I could only eat half of the chicken serving because it was too dry. Only 1 block away is a P*appa's Barbeque. I should have gone there instead.

MY REVIEW: Big potatoes which are good. Stay away fromt he Chicken fried steak, its the regular processed stuff you get everywhere else. Its awful. I was surprised they would use an inferior product such as this at their resturant.

MY REVIEW: A neighbor who has been going here for decades talked my family into having a going away lunch for my son there. The food was great. I had the sausage and it was very good and unique enought to beleive that is made there (as advertised.) But what impressed me was when I took back a mistake they made in timing such that my childs corndog wasn't fully cooked they offered to redo it or refund immediately. I choose to get my money back and they refunded the money and were absolutly polite and friendly about it. The counterman, Ray, came out later during a pause in the crowd (there weren't many) and made sure we were ok with it and invited us back. Once you master making the food great, and they have it is the people who make the difference and at the Hungry Farmer they have mastered that as well. They are now on my short list of places to eat.

MY REVIEW: It's the best BBQ I've had. A person can have a delicious, huge meal for under $10. I've had BBQ at many restaurants but once I tried the food there I got hooked.

MY REVIEW: The only thing I've ever eaten here is the chop baker. It's a meal by itself and it's delicious. I've yet to run across one that's bigger or better.

MY REVIEW: Brisket was fatty and not smoky. But is probably about the cheapest BBQ place around. W*illiams BBQ is much higher quality, and is just a couple of miles away.

MY REVIEW: Have eaten here since about 1980. Became friends with both owners because I ate here constantly and have taken every relative, friend and business associate here for two decades. The food is awesom and the quanity of food generous to a fault compared with other BBQ restaurants I've eaten at. I dine out about 10 times per week. This is the Best Value I've found Pound for Pound. My personal favorites are the Sliced Beef Basket or the Home Made Sausage Basket.

MY REVIEW: Day in - day out some of the best BBQ sandwiches in Houston for $3.25. Very fast service. I've eaten at W*illiams, B*urns, P*appas, G*oode Company and lots of locals and this place is about as good as any. The sauce ain't much but who cares when you get enough meat one one sandwich to make 2 regular sandwiches. Try one sliced beef and one chopped beef. You'll come back again soon. And, if you like baked potatos (sp?) try one of these football size Idahos topped with what looks like some of everything. I've been eating here for 15-20 years and still go by at least once a week although I'm closer to W*illiam's Smokehouse. The Hungry Farmer is just consistently good. Maybe it's because of the high volume? Whatever.
